Details of the required right to use SupportAssist

In the page of Dell.com SupportAssist (http://www.dell.com/Learn/us/en/555/services/support-assist?c=us&l=en&s=biz), it indicates that a ProSupport contract is required to use SupportAssist.

Yet in the Release Notes, it refers to the ability to generate cases for devices with Basic warranty service contract.  Then, in the FAQ document, it states that SupportAssist is available with warranty on hardware and service right ProSupport on the system.

I'm confused as this right is required to use SupportAssist.  Can someone please clarify?

Yes SupportAssist is a free download and can be installed with OpenManage essentials for switches, storage and Dell server monitoring. A single instance of OpenManage Essentials and SupportAssist allows you to monitor up to 2000 devices. The features that you get are different for each hardware device Dell that monitor you according to the contract of guarantee on this device.

If the device has only a standard warranty, remote collection of newspapers and monitoring features are enabled for the device while for devices with contract ProSupport, automatic support case is created in response to defects of hardware detected by SupportAssist.

    1. is it mandatory that we have space separate for the queue table? What will happen if we run out of table space? Lose us data?

    No - it is not necessary to separate queue objects, you can do however purely for the simplicity of space management, but is certainly not a requirement. Space missing in a storage space for a queue is not different to press space to a normal process - Oracle will trigger an error ("ORA-xxxxx cannot extend... ") and the process trying to NQ to the queue will fail or do what it has been coded so that error." So, if your code NQ did something stupid mistake so I guess it's possible loss of data in case of error (not only exhausted space) but in general I'm expecting the process to report the error and stop.

    It is depends entirely on how you plan to use the queues, queues are not generally intended for long-term data storage, they do not perform well for this - they work better with the message in. message on (enqueue | dequeue) so unless you intend to leave messages in the queue for long periods of time I expect no significant space consumption. But only you guys can really work it to according to the type of user data and how long messages remain in the queue.

    We have WCI 11.1.1.8.0 Setup. It has configured WEC. However when I have the connection with the user "weblogic. It is user of domain administrator. WEC allows the user to open a session and displays the top navigation bar. However, in the body, it shows the message below

    "This user log has no appropriate rights of use WebCenter Capture"

    This happens if the user is not to capture the Application role.

    Check this box:

    Connect to EM

    Right-click in the capture_domain, select security, then the Application roles

    In the field of Stripe Application, select capture and then click on the search request roles icon to view the Capture application roles.

    The user to capture add this weblogic.

    It works now.

    The valid oracle package is available for Oracle Linux, RHEL not. Oracle-validated packages will fire the installation of the required packages and also configure your account settings and the oracle kernel.

  • How can I resume the click right functionality using Terminal Server and Office 2010

    I have a client who has the 2008 standard R2 server that deploys some applications of terminal services to their users.  Office 2010, Adobe Reader and Quickbooks are notable apps that I was sent.

    The problem arises when they bought a couple of refurbished Dell desktop computers.  They lose the ability to right click (option flashes then disappears instantly) - but only in Office programs - Quickbooks and Adobe still working.

    The question is only on these two new machines, which are Windows 7 Professional (and they have other machines pro Win7).  I reinstalled the apps and it solves the problem temporarily, but it always comes back.

    I had to try a few different mouse and I have these computers also remotely accessible and experienced the issue.

    All tracks for a solution would be greatly appreciated!

  • Why is no longer a security icon in the lower right corner of the page showing that it is a page secured using Firefox 4?

    Having just installed Firefox 4, I went to to connect to my e-mail account and are unable to do it because I don't know if I'm on a secure page. The security icon (the small padlock in the bottom right of the page) is over here telling me I'm on a secure page. Unfortunately I'll have to return by using Internet Explorer. Please send a notification if you never change this so I can go back to using Firefox.

    I tried to get the following information in the public domain for years and now that I have the answers, I'll share with those who might be interested.

    Caveat!

    Wrap your head in tape before reading just for the sake of security.

    My two questions were;

    (1) may LV re - use tampons of VI calling when you use VI serve call by reference?

    (2) is used when the use of call by reference UI thread?

    1 when you call a VI using the call through the reference node, the data in the pane of the copied or is node connector - this online as it would be with a Subvi properly implemented?

    Short answer: it's somewhere between the two.

    Long answer:

    The compiler does not know what will be called VI, but there a hint:

    the reference connected to the node of the call by reference. He uses to get the 'Prototype' for the call. Therefore, for optimal performance, use a prototype that has the same 'characteristics placeness' as it is called VI. That said, users don't know what are the "characteristics of the placeness.

    Before getting into the details, I will say that the overhead of these copies should not matter much unless it's a large data structure (a table with lots of items.) or a cluster/class with many fields or containing large networks etc..

    Example 1:

    If the prototype does not change the data, then the compiler assumes that the crux of the call by reference will not alter the data. However, at runtime, a check is made to see if the real called VI will modify the data. If Yes, then a copy is made and past so that the original data can be modified.

    Example 2:

    If the prototype contains an entry that is wired through an exit so that both input and output terminals can use the same buffer memory, but running an audit determines that the real called entry and exit VI do not share a buffer, then a copy will be made from output of the actual call to the original screws (combined input and output) buffer.

    I should also mention that, even with this behavior "are trying to get along with the prototype", it is not always possible to obtain good performance as a Subvi ordinary call. For example, if you have a situation where the prototype does not change the data and passes it through to an exit and then the compiler must assume that the data is changed (because, as in example 2, there are screws that may change even if the called real VI is not).

    And there are a few caveats:

    (1) this behavior "using a prototype" was new for 2009. Before that, we used a method more naïve data of passage that took all the entries will be changed and no outputs don't share a buffer with an entry.

    (2) this behavior can be changed in future versions, if we find additional optimizations.

    (3) this behavior is the same that we use for the dynamic distribution live (when you use the classes in LV)

    (4) If you want to create a VI can be used as a prototype, you can use the features of the Structure in Place to control the "characteristics of the placeness', namely the element nodes in and out of the border, the function"Mark as modifier"border nodes (note the pencil icon on the item), and the node always one copy.

    (5) the prototype is only the first reference ever connected to the node of the call by reference. So if you make a new prototype VI, you can just make a reference out of it plug into the crux of the call by reference. I suggest to remove the node from the call by reference and file a new.

    (6) for remote calls, we still "making copies" by transmitting data over a network.

    2 - is the call made by the reference to run in the user interface thread node? If the call is made by a remote machine via ethernet, thread that host (the computer that makes the call by reference) runs on and thread that executes the target (the machine that contains the file VI) on?

    In the case of premises, the appeal made by the reference node does not require the user interface thread and may work in some thread the VI wants to run in.

    When you call a remote VI, the appeal made by the reference node uses the UI thread (detailed below) on both the client and the server.

    The client uses the UI thread to send the request to the server and there still when the response comes back. The user interface thread is not blocked during the time between the two.

    The server receives the TCP message in the UI thread, and then starts the call to the UI thread. The server also uses the user interface thread to send the response to the client. The user interface thread is not blocked on the server during execution of the VI.

  • Windows Movie Maker "the file is protected using digital rights management and cannot be imported."

    I downloaded a large .wmv file last night and have to divide into 8 smaller parts, but when I try to "import media" in Movie Maker is stipulates that "the file is protected using digital rights management and cannot be imported.

    Is it possible to import the file to edit?

    Turnbite removes the DRM http://download.cnet.com/Tunebite/3000-2140_4-10783040.html but I still don't know if it would work with Movie Maker (only because I haven't used products - looks like it would work, but I'm not sure).  Here is a review of version 6 (the current version is 7): http://mp3.about.com/od/audiotools/fr/Tunebite_6_Rev.htm.  Apparently, he's copying your DRM files and so it is required to have at least some degradation (but not a lot from what I've read - not noticeable).  Because it's free, it can't hurt to try it and see if it solves the problem.

  • Cannot display web pages on explorer 8 without using the left/right scroll bar.

    I rebooted my system yesterday and now when I visit a web page on explore 8, I have to use the left/right scroll bar to view the entire page. Before I rebooted and am went full-screen page would correspond to the size. The graphic and type are larger, and I wouldn't change a thing.

    On the command bar, there is a marked entry Page.  Until it clicks.  (If you do not see this, right click on the toolbar of the tab and then click the command bar to add it to the other toolbars).  Now, go to Zoom and the size of the text and set each as required to get the page fit on the screen.  For me it works with the format as smaller text and 150% Zoom, but it may be different for you depending on the size of your screen and your graphics hardware.  If it's just a problem of zoom (and you don't need to adjust the size of the text), then there is a Zoom control on the right-hand side of the bottom bar State which also allows you to adjust the Zoom level on what meets your needs (and there are a little faster to join then the menu bar).

    I don't know why Mr. Murphy suggested a system restore. Maybe he interpreted your post differently I did. You have your screen standby/power options defined on too short a time. You can also disable the requirement for a password during the recovery.

    Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and click on personalize. To customize the applet opens. Click the screen saver. Change the timeout to something reasonable like 10 or 20 minutes. You will see where you can clear the check box next to the "password required on curriculum vitae... ».

    Now do the same in the (Control Panel) Power Options applet. This link contains pictures showing you how to disable this option:
