Develop settings lost after re - import the DNG files folder

I use LR for several months and - after having used to his peculiararities - love the program.

Tonight, I have re-imported one file to DNG files that I had previously withdrawn from the LR - using the import option 'Add '. When the develop module, I noticed that my original develop settings have been applied is no longer.

These settings are not incorporated into the DNG files? How could they get lost? They wrote, too, when re - import files?

I always back up my catalog before closing. The backup of the catalog contain the original developing parameters for these DNG files?

I know I must have done something wrong! Please inform and explain. Thank you.

The development parameters are only in the catalog, unless you have autowrite to xmp enabled in the settings of catalog or if you have selected the image files and saved the data to develop with Cmd/Ctrl-S to the selected files.

When you delete the files from the catalog data to develop will too after a short period (allows cancellations) so if you have a catalog of backup with files until they have been removed you could open that save develop settings and then open your catalog of work and read the metadata,.

I keep all my files in Lightroom, as it is my rather than the operating system file manager. Then I know (I hope) where everything is and what happens to my images.

Your type of error has been made by many, including myself and is part of the learning curve for digital imaging!

Taking your advice, I discovered an error of 'beginner '. When I imported the AVI from my office, I was a hypothesis that it was copied to the disk on my new laptop... Oops! The glitter is attributable to the project on the laptop trying to access the file through the network traffic. When I copied the avi file on my laptop, then created a new project in the key of my laptop - problem solved. Thank you, Jim, the suggestion on several disks. I'm immediately incorporate.

    =======================================
. MSWMM would be your Movie Maker project file if it is a
complex big project that you have been working on for a while it
can be to reach the limits of your system resources.

Creation of several small projects is better than a large
project. If you save all of them in the movie .wmv format you
can import movie collected files and combine them into
    one final film.

Also... it may be interesting to try to install IE8... I remember
See the reports of users of Movie Maker who has
with IE7. Personally, I went straight from IE6 to IE8.
(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

  • Could not import the DNG files in PP

I open the last update for Premiere Pro to test the CinemaDNG support, but when I go...

File > import > (select my folder with my DNG files) I'm unable to import as "Image Sequence". The rest able uncheck checkbox.

I'm something wrong or lack a step here?

When I click "Import", it seems like its beginning to import the files, then an error is generated:

    Failure to import a file

    Error message:
The file seems to have no data media.

Jim is Correct. Here's the official statement:

Cinema uncompressed DNG of Blackmagic film cameras

Import and mount uncompressed media cinema DNG (or ProRes and DNxHD) Blackmagic film cameras. Cinema DNG can be debayered on a GPU supported for extreme performance of playback.

    http://www.Adobe.com/products/premiere/extend.html#Supportedvideoformats

However you may still be able to import some files not Blackmagic CNDG but they are not officially supported. Are the object of this version was support Blackmagic cinema DNG and debaryed GPU accelerated.

  • After you import the image files into Lightroom, Lightroom does not show my folder hierarchy.

Before I started using Lightroom, I got my pictures organized in a hierarchy of folders.

    My_imagesAA1
    A2
    BB1
    B2

(The actual structure is deeper than this example a few levels.)

I imported the A1, A2, B1, B2 files in Lightroom and gave them the keywords that reflect the folder structure.

Now, when I look in Lightroom under folders, the structure is gone (it is still there on my drive). All I see is a list of A1, A2, B1, B2 files, so it is difficult to navigate to the folder that I want to work with.

How can I get Lightroom to display the folder structure in that my images are in fact?

Found a solution. Right click the folder and select "show parent folder.
Repeat this operation several times until you see the folder structure you want.

  • How can I import cinema dng files in first Pro CC?

    Hello

I want to use files RAW DNG of Blackmagic cinema 4 k for my first productions. As specified by Adobe this schould be no problem.

When I import the dng file or a list of *.dng files, they are displayed in Active mode as unique photos. How can I create a video track on these lots of 'photo' in the window of the sequence?

Many thanks in advance for any help!

    Soon A peer

When I import bmpcc cinema dng in the project Panel, they come as a single image sequence.

Appropriate is to import via the media browser. Then, they come as the video icon.

Unique setting is wrong with respect to first works fine, but I used them as video files for the month by inserting first picture on the 'new sequence' icon.

  • I have a Setup dual monitor.  When I paste develop settings from one image to the other, Lightroom going on the active window.

Strange problem.  5.5 Lightroom.  Windows 8.1. Setting up dual monitor.

I am processing a lot important photos.  I have #1 monitor set as my main to develop the window with #2 monitor configured only to display a larger version of the image, I work with. If I copy the parameters of development out of a picture and try to paste them on another image, Lightroom will increase from the #1 to the monitor #2 monitor in the main window to develop and does not display anything on the monitor #1.

If I then try to paste develop settings on another image on the monitor #2, LR then displays a larger version of the image, I have been working with the #1 monitor.

To work like I want to, I have to constantly drag my develop the window back to the #1 monitor whenever I try to paste the settings on a new image of development. How can I make this stop?

I have similar (but different) problems dual monitor. Just posted this on my thread unanswered. It may be useful:

Blessed excrement! After frustrating months of bi-ecrans LR questions and a month of waiting for an answer on this forum, I called Adobe technical support. Only five minutes before dialing, I had updated my PhotoShop CC application. When the useful Adobe tech classmate is online, I can't reproduce all the issues that had been plaguing me. It is a stretch... a biiiiig stretch... but he is feels/figure/seems that PhotoShop CC update has fixed my bi-ecrans LR problems! I'll keep track of what other programs I use and open while LR - ing to see if they are relaxing, but for now, everything is quite in front of two monitors.

  • Is it possible to choose Import in the DNG file only?

I couldn't get any support or contact information, so I try to get an answer to my question, as follows, from here.

Is it possible to choose Import in the DNG file only?

I like to keep the disk space and the ability to remove unwanted jpg copies is unnecessary work for me a lot of your time.

Then nobody knows where to send the program errors or suggestions for improvement?

    Thanks in advance

You can also make sure that you don't have the following "Processing JPEG files" option to raw as separate photos selected. See the screen capture.

  • Office loses datebook categories after export & import the file dba.

    Hello

After reading a lot of posts, I can't find any that have reported a similar problem, so here it is.  Office loses datebook categories after export & import of a file of dba.  I use Palm Desktop by Access v6.2.2 and a Verizon Centro.  This problem has nothing to do with the synchronization.  I just exported my calendar of events in a DBA file, import the same file and all event categories have been set to "unclassified".  Is this a known bug, or perhaps, the s/n file includes no category information?

I'm really curious to know if the dba file (archive date?) contains information catergory.

    Thanks in advance,

    CentroIllinois.

    Hello!

A bit of a limitation of Palm Desktop.  Before you import the file s/n, manually add the category nanes via change categories and then try again to import the file dba.  Due the category names must be exactly the same spelling and spacing as before when they were exported.

  • After you import the virtual machines in LM, can I remove VC

    Hello

I had a couple of machines to import the configuration of another admin... After you import the virtual machines in LM, can I remove the virtual machines, I imported VC? I now have more need to fight them with VC. LM depends on of these always after import?

I do not believe, but you can rename the folder and see if something is complaining.  If it isn't, it is probably safe to delete.

  • Missing spaces between words after you import the Word document in RoboHelp HTML version 8

I created a document + 400 pages in Word 2007 and it imported in RoboHelp 8 (HTML, not RoboHelp for Word). Many places, the space between a bold Word and a word not fat is no longer there. I would like to avoid having to go through all of the HR document to replace the spaces manually. Not imported correctly?

    Seems perfect, works terribly...

    Things to consider:

    • Chances are, the different treatments of space are due to the question of if the space was included in bold the word in MS Word.
    • In addition, as Word files contain a large part underlying the binary code (macros and others), your security settings may or could be don't play well with the word stuff.
    • You import the Word file from a network location, or your local computer? Network traffic may be partially import impact, too.

Bottom line? You will probably need to clear any formatting in the Word file and redo the formatting correctly. To test this, cut a few pages into a new Word file, clear and redo the formatting in Word, import file in another project HR the Word and see what results you get.

    To clear the formatting:

    1. Select text.
    2. On the home tab, in the group policy , click clear formatting.
    3. Redo formatting, making sure to do not format the spaces.

    Good luck

  • After effects error: the Photoshop file format error (- 1). (45: 35)

After Effects worked PERFECTLY for me earlier today. Now, he won't cooperate.
I only use AE to correct the colors and the rendering/export short sequences to use first or Final Cut...
Im working with DNG that have been converted from MLV files, sequences (I use the video hack gross magic lantern on a 5 dm 3).

Out of nowhere, whenever I try to import any DNG sequences, sequences of CR2, CR2 or DNG files, I get this error...

After effects error: the Photoshop file format error (- 1). (45: 35)

No matter which set of DNGS I open gives me error. Ive tried re-conversion of several files MLV (perhaps there were corrupt officials?) and their import again, but no luck.

Ive tried uninstalling AE and re installation with no luck.
I tried the updated Camera Raw to the latest version with no luck too. (Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Macintosh)

Does anyone know why AE would simply stop working with my DNG sequences all of a sudden?
It makes absolutely no sense to me.

(Running on a macbook pro end 2013)

Well, after 4 hours of trying to understand this point, I did.
Including use of that Camera Raw 9.5 it won't work with AE. 9.1 will alone.
Still doesn't explain why it has just stopped working in the first place well...

  • Best settings for maximum quality with the smallest file size

I am generation PDFs from Indesgin. The InDesign document is a 24 page book for children, so the color work consits flat horizons that are made in Illustrator.

PDF files are approximately 13 MB. But if I'm running their thinking the optimizer based on CSSTidy in Acrobat I can get up to 9 MB without quality.

The only problem is that automatically generate these PDF files per day 100 automatically (it's a custom to produce via HP Smartstream book), so I can't open them every time in Acrobat format (unless there is a way to send it to Acrobat automatically after creation).

Is there a way I can reproduce the 'effects' Acrobat in InDesign settings panel when you create the PDF file?

My work is in EPS. I tried saving as a TIFF and before you import it into InDesign. Although TIFF files / HAVE individal are smaller that the EPS, the PDF output is the same size (sometimes more).

The only thing that reduces the size of the file within InDesign is passing the compression of images in color at 300 DPI to 150 dpi. But I find that if I go lower than that, the print quality suffers.

I was looking for conversion of PDF command line tools and eventually discovered this:

    https://www.PDF-Tools.com/PDF/PDF-Optimization-reduce-size-1.aspx

For me, it's much too expensive (US$ 570), but maybe it's a viable solution for you. He watched folder workflows, this is why it may be convenient for your application. You can download a demo and even test online (PDF file is watermark).

I submitted a file to their online test page and was impressed with the results: original PDF 1.5 MB format produces a 925 file (an "optimized" ot the same sample PDF file Acrobat turned _bigger_ then the original). What makes it even more impressive: in the online test I deselected ALL downsampling image settings, to force the PDF optimized to keep the quality of the original image and the resolution. Then, in Acrobat, I exported the images at the same time the original PDF and the optimized and compare in Photoshop. They were not the same, but the difference is practically imperceptible. I suppose that applying the downsampling to the test will result in even smaller PDF files, but I did not test this.

In any case... I have no affiliation with these guys, and I have neither the need nor the money to buy this product. I only share these thoughts because they can point you to other ways to find a solution. The above-mentioned application seems to be very effective. If you can afford it, I think it deserves a try. If this isn't the case, you can search the Web for plugins or other tools that can be adapted to you needs and budget. Acrobat/InDesign approaches are not the only way to go.

  • LR 4 modifies the DNG files

LR4 bought last night - mainly interested in the moiré removal tool.  Tried on two DNG files.  Seemed to remove the color model, but not the contours of the intensity.  BUT, after this test, I opened the DNG files in Photoshop CS5.  In Photoshop, there are now ugly brush models where the tool has been applied.  And DNG files now show a "last modified" date today.  Looks like LR4 can corrupt the DNG files

I have studied the file (thanks Harold) and have the following share:

    1. the DNG file is not damaged.

    2. the DNG file wrong (more precisely, stale) setting values of local correction for brushed regions.  The recorded values indicate an increase in exposure, that's why the strokes appear visible in older versions of ACR (like 6.3 or 6.4) supported by PV 2003/2010, but not PV 2012.

    3. the reason for the incorrect/fade value being registered for PV 2003/2010 settings is because of a bug in Lr 4.  I will work with the team to address this issue.

    4. in the meantime, to remove the visible effects "brush stroke", you can delete the local corrections, or click an individual PIN (once the adjustment Brush tool is selected) and reset the exposure to 0.

    5. you will not encounter this problem if you open the image in Lr 4 directly in ACR 6.7 RC.

    6. the reason why the problem is a not disappear in this case when you tried ACR 6.7 RC, is because you have already saved the image to an earlier version of the ACR 6 parameters.  In other words, you've come this way: Lr 4-> ACR 6.3 / 6.4-> ACR 6.7 RC.  When you have saved the image settings (for example, by clicking 'Done') in ACR 6.3/6.4, this threw your moiré adjustment.  This is because older versions of ACR do not understand the new settings (e.g., the moiré).
