  Hi all

  Of the very basic knowledge on Adobe products please bare with me! We have deployed v8 Adobe Captivate our users to test and when they try to take a PPTX file and turn it into an interactive e-learning courses, it fails with the message:

  "Cannot import the selected file. Refer to the documentation to ensure that you have installed the correct version of microsoft office.

  We have the SP2 of Microsoft Office 2010 (x 86) installed Adobe Captivate 8 before us. We tested and this works if the user uses a PPT file (2003 / 2007 Compatible file) which is a workaround but isn't ideal because they then lose the functionality of 2010!

  Anyone can confirm that Captivate 8 supports Office 2010, or this is exactly why we have this problem?

  V9 does support Office 2010 if this is the case, as if a patch is not solve this problem, then we recommend the customer to go to the product V9. One thing is that we use 32-bit with 64-bit Captivate Office but the fact that it works with legacy PPT I doubt it is the origin of the problem.

  As far as I saw, 9 Captivate does not handle this better than 8 Captivate.  But you can check it out yourself by downloading and installing the Cp9 trial version and see if that will import your PPTX.

  A few other suggestions for you:

  • Make sure you run Captivate (regardless of version) using the command run as administrator.
  • Also set PowerPoint to be launched using run as administrator.
  • Don't try to import a huge PPT or PPTX.  Do your tests on something small, say 10 or 20 slides.  This will alleviate the question if you really do turn into is a matter of PC resources.
  • Test with PPTs very sober.  Captivate imports can stumble on some objects incorporated into the PPT Slides.  So just having pictures, text, and anything else in your PPT test.

  I have after effects CC 2014, now that I found a bug known and described workaround to use after effects 12.2 (CC) in place for that step.

  now I have problems to find where I can download the old version, or if it is even possible that I can't find in my CC.

  You need a version of Camera Raw of 9.0 or higher and Photoshop elements 12 will not manage that. You need to get the free DNG Converter, convert your DNG files, before you can open the items.

• LR6 cannot import the raw files from Nikon D750

  Just improved LR4 6 (no creativity cloud) and I can't import the raw files from my Nikon D750.  I tried to import saved the file and import directly from the camera and card.  Says it is not supported.  Is there a plugin or a fix for this?

  Nikon D750 files are supported in Lightroom 6: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

  I am on Windows 7, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled Quicktime 7 with no luck. The video will not reproduce with QT. Reading is a bit jerky in VLC. I also tried to import the clip to the first CS6. Everytime I try I get the error message "Codec missing or unavailable. I have redownloaded the image a couple of times just in case there was a problem with the initial download.  I went through the old forums without a bit of luck and I was wondering if you guys have ideas. How you would try to get the AE to import the .mov?

  The reason why it was not working so because Windows is not, by default, not the correct codec pack to open files. In order to make it work, I had to download the pack codec DNxHD. works very well now.

• I have the new Sony RX-100 IV and Lightroom cannot view the ARW files. It requires an update to Camera Raw, or is it something else?

  The import dialog says he can not preview the files and then when I click on import, I get a dialog indicating that the file is is not supported by the raw in Lightroom.

  According to the list of devices supported (Camera Raw plugin|) Compatible cameras) that the model is not yet supported. It will probably be supported in the next update of Lightroom CC/6, but if you are using an older version of Lightroom there is not an update which will host this camera. However, when new updates are available, there will be a new DNG Converter that you can use to create copies of your DNG files. What version of Lightroom do you use?

  Either way, plug in Camera Raw has no effect on Lightroom. All the raw technology is integrated into the program itself. When you see a version of Camera Raw in the context of Lightroom, he's stating simply the latest version of Camera Raw, Lightroom is compatible with.

  I'm sure many of you have experienced this problem with creative cloud which, for some reason there are 2 version of each software - CC and CC version (2014).

  It seems that the 2014 version is the most up-to-date for AE, but I was under the impression that the software would simply be updated constantly as CC. Can anyone is clear to me please the versions to run as default value that its quite a nuisance having to update the 2 versions for each Adobe program. And now that we are in 2015 will be the 2014 gradually, versions or updated until 2015?

  The current version is after effects CC 2014 (13.2%). You can keep after effects CC (12.2.1) around if you wish; There are some features that have been removed from the new version to keep the old version around a small number of people.

• Lack of animation preset in after effects CC 2014

  I upgraded from CS6 CC CC 2014 and now cannot find the preset animations anywhere on my system. I deleted the CS6 CC due to space considerations. They were in it. Can't find them anywhere on my system. Standard installation. WIndows 7 Pro, i7 6 GB blah blah blah! Has been informed by Tech Support that I couldn't NAVIGATE on them because I have no bridge CC. I bridge Premium CS5.5, but he can't reach 2014 CC. Even use it outside the CC 2014 I can't find predefined animations. I can't find the folder that they are supposed to be, find everything.

  Help!

  The presets are your Applications or Program Files folder in the folder Adobe after effects (same location as the app) in their own folder.

  They should appear in the effects and presets. Bringing up inside the AE by going to window > effects and presets

  

  BTW, deleting the CS6 app was a very bad idea, you should use the uninstall program. CS6 uninstall would have no effect on CC14. If you dive into your programs folder and began to remove things you might have obstructed to the top of a lot of things.

  Basically, I downloaded the demo of time after effects cc (2014) and media encoder cc (2014) but when the installation is complete, I open after effects cc 2014 and literally as soon as it loads up, it closes and is not running a process in the Task Manager...

  The GUYS I HAVE FOUND a SOLUTION... first of all, open the cc engine found to render legacy:

  C:\Users\"user"\Desktop\Adobe After Effects CC 2014

  and open the the after effects render engine. If this does not open due to an error, close it, go to:

  C:\Users\"user"\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects\13.1

  delete the file 'Adobe After Effects 13.1 Win en_US shortcuts' then rerun the rendering engine. Then, once the rendering engine opens successfully, you can now open after effects cc 2014 successfully.
