• How to develop and test the application mobile flex without the real device?

  I'm trying to read some information about it, but decided to ask also here.

  I have a project that has a company wants to grow me, it's for iPad. That's ok I am with Flex and the framework for web development, but not for mobile. Why? Because I have no idea how to test my application. I know generation ago it sort of the desktop version of the application with the change of the "back" button on the orientation stuff, but how do I know my application will look and work exactly the same (I mean NOT performance here). I mean you know how every android or iOS device have their native keyboard or native video player for example and I have only in the debug version of the application.

  The question is how to develop this application based on the desktop emulator or anything and then hope that my app looks and works on a device, as it should... Of course I can't afford to buy all the devices it is just to be able to test on it if necessary? So, how do you, how to test how my iPad app works on a device without a? I know I should get a licence from iOS dev to be able to package the app for iOS, but it's $ 99 per year or something like that I can handle, but how to test my application without having to buy the darn device? Are there any emulator for iPad or something like that I know what my customers will see when they get the application? One of my friends told me that the mac os x use the developers a tool - cause some kit of dev who has emulators for all iOS devices and you can build and test there immediately and that you can simulate virtually any combination of key for example, and he said he's working and seems to 1:1 as the real device but he didn't know if can I export an AIR application and try it like this, he only knew for app written in native code.

  If someone can just tell me how should I do this? Should I buy a mac os x computer laptop to test because I am a user of windows 7, or perhaps create a mac os x virtual machine and tests out there or maybe the only option is to actually buy the device... that would be terrible for a freelancer...

  Since the AIR for iOS applications are compiled to ARM code you will not be able to run on iOS emulators running on Mac OSX.

  You can do a very simple test with the "Simulator" built into Flash Builder, but it is not much more than a window to AIR with a window size that matches the resolution of the selected iOS device.  When running in the simulator of the application is not compiled to ARM code so it will take a completely different code path than what will be the final release of iOS.

  Ultimately if you are developing for iOS with AIR nothing but for tests on real iOS devices.

  You must have an understanding of how web, application servers, domain names, dns and http servers work. It is beyond the scope of a few quick responses on a forum!

  but here goes:

  Put the scripts that you have developed in the web root or subfolder name for the domain that you have been delveoping on the production web server.

  Access to said domain or subfolder in the web browser and test.

  We have a production server applications at a remote site for which I do not have access. I have a test application server to another location for which I can visit her profile. Now, I want to add a feature to production server. Can I use the test server to create features and deploy it to the production server. If possible, I should make the packages according to the production server? And how to deploy to the production server.   You don't need something production server to create pages of the OFA.
  Do everything pending test or development, and finally deploy the files on the production instance.

• I can not print from Firefox, but can all the other browsers and applications (such as MS Word, notepad, etc.). I get a misprint on the print monitor as if it was a problem of queue.

  This is a recent development, but I can not print anything in Firefox. Printing open normally, it's going to the right printer that works... I can print other browsers and applications. It acts like it is in queue and then a printing error occurs and it will not be printed. I closed and reopened Firefox, open in safe mode, cleaned cache/history/cookies and restarted twice. Nothing makes no difference. Also tried printing from the preview before print that had the same result. I can print all other browsers and applications without problem, so it must be within Firefox.

• Development of applications that run without installed DAQmx

  We want to develop the executables that include optional calls to connected DAQmx hardware.  It will be used for purposes of internal development and allocation of customers. We would like to include optional features such as temperature logging using the thermocouple NI 9211/USB-9162 entry-level camera.  If a customer wants to use our application with record temperature, they can buy the necessary materials of NEITHER and install DAQmx drivers.

  The problem we are trying to solve is how to develop applications that work also for the case when a client does not want to buy the material and does not install the DAQmx drivers.  Ideally, we can include a button 'disable temperature logging' on relevant applications, which prevents all calls to the DAQmx drivers at run time.  For example by including calls in a business controlled by this button structure.

  The problem we seem to have is that executables resulting always require customers to install the DAQmx drivers, even if they don't need them.  It doesn't seem to be a way to make the optional installation, since the source screw included calls to DAQmx drivers, even if they will not be used by the customer.

  Clearly, a solution is to develop two families of screws and the applications, which include DAQmx calls and one who is not.  However, which will result in a horrible collection of code that will require the maintenance and parallel development.

  An alternative is to ask all customers to install DAQmx drivers.  Unfortunately, the size and complexity of downloads that results will be a significant deterrant.  It's already a shame that our distributed software is a 50 MB download, when the size of the code in C++ or VB would be less than a tenth of that.  Another factor of increase of 10 download is prohibitive.

  We must find a solution more clean.  All ideas, plase?

  You can use the conditional structure conditional symbols and disable disable in the project to do. You can, for example, have a symbol called "HAVEDAQMX" and, say, use a 1 or 0 (or anything you want) to indicate that you want to run the project with or without DAQmx. In VI using the conditional turn off the structure. For HAVEDAQMX = 0 case put in the code to run without DAQmx. For HAVEDAQMX = 1 case put in the DAQmx code. When you build the application, if any will get used, and the other will be thrown.

  Attached is a simple project that does this. You can view the LabVIEW help for more information about the conditional structure disable.

  WebWorks, it's all pretty easy, but because of differences in the config.xml file, you need different versions for different devices (mess me all the time)

  With the help of other languages is much more difficult that you need different base code for everything

  OS5-7 = Java

  PB = AIR

  BB10 = NDK / Cascades

  It is important that a GMaps app - basically - has the support of 5th place (although 5 has problems rendering and is terrible @ AJAX)

  I would stick to 6 + in, then things are stable and should work in all markets with that codebase

  My concepts on UiApplication and Application are clear, but I'm getting confused by looking at applications such as CallBlocker etc. as

  Here are the requirements of my application

  (1) have a background application that starts automatically at the startup of the phone upward and done something.

  (2) when a particular event occurs then, open the UiApplication where we allow the user to enter something

  If the above tasks are to be done, I am able to do it by two different applications and installing it. But what I want is to have a single packaged application do two things.

  CallBlocker applications are unique packaged applications that have associated UI work and not work on user interface.

  My questions are so

  (1) are two distributed applications together somehow? (this seems a very stupid question if I understand that an application can be Ui or without AC)

  (2) ins Anternate concept being used entry point is these cases?

  Indications in this sense?

  -l'API is documented so ok, if you know what you are doing you can work with it fine.

  -the developer guides are very detailed, it takes days to read them all. you have videos on top.

  -you get dozens of examples of applications that cover almost everything you want to do in the first half - just avoid copy & paste and try to include some path.

  -knowledge base is large enough. some articles are old, but you will find something for many topics, like the two I linked.

  -the forums contain an overview on problems, just use the search

  There are weak points on the development of bb, but I don't think they are related to the documentation.

  No it's not correct.  Each file of cod being limited to about 64K, if all applications had to be a cod, then things like App World which when I looked last was more than 500 KB, would not be a single application.

  Normally, you distribute applications like jads to download OTA or alx for Desktop or BES installation pushing.  Both these have methods to include several cod in the package.  Please see the developer's Guide for more information, section "packaging and distributing applications.
