Devices not recognized USB / can not install updates

Original title: starts to feel like a Tennis Ball!

I have an IBM ThinkPad Laptop and it can't recognize all usb devices. Windows asking me to contact the manufacturer and IBM wants me to get Windows updates... that will not be installed. I just want to SEE my flash drive. It has enabled updates Auto but as with "Satellite enabled", it is rarely if at all connected to the Internet at the right time. I want to just make sure everything iskosher, so I can eliminate all possibilities of why I can't see my flash drive.

Hello

·         What happens when you connect the Flash drive to the computer?

·         Is the drive detected in Device Manager?

·         What is the version of Windows installed on your computer?

·         What are the updates pending or not installing on your computer?

You can configure the computer to clean the start state, and then try to update the computer and check if that helps. To set up the computer in a clean boot state, follow the link below.
