How can I access the Internet using dial-up with a Probook s 4540? Thank you. John Whitney, Atlanta, Ga

Dragon-fur Hello and thanks for the suggestions.  I am already able to connect switched with my XP machine Lenovo, and my question has to do with a new 4540 s HP Probook with W 7, using dial-up mainly when I travel to places where there is wireless or ethernet.  The Probook has no RJ-11 port, so I wonder if I need a dial-up modem USB or an ethernet-to-access converter remote.  I tried earlier to set up a dial-up connection and 7 W said that it could not detect a dial-up modem.  The route of USB is the only choice?  Once again, thanks a lot for your interest and comments.  Best regards, John Whitney

    I am trying to share a connection, but cannot start service ICS - error 1068 - the dependency service or group was able to start. I followed the dependencies and the failing service was Manager of remote access connections. He is unable to start because the SSTP service cannot be started. When I try to manually start the SSTP Protocol it gives me a message "Socket Tunneling Protocol Secure Service on Local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs"I changed the startup type to automatic, but nothing helped. My Windows is build 7600 with all updates applied. My computer configuration is C2Q 6600, Asus P5QL Pro, nV 9600GT, 2x2gb Apacer.

    EDIT: I followed this guide by removing dependence on SSTP but now it gives me error 87 - incorrect setting instead of 1068.

    So finally I solved my problem! I removed the RasMan (Remote Access Connection Manager) of the ICS service dependency and therefore probably broke support VPN and Dial-up . Here is the solution for those who have the same problem. Everything you do is your own responsibility!

    Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type Regedit . Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\ then right-click SharedAccess, and choose export . Save the file, so you have a backup if you want to restore the settings the easy way. Now open SharedAccess, double-click DependOnService , and remove the entry RasMan . Restart the computer and now ICS works perfectly. Make this "tweak" will probably break the VPN and Dial-up support!

    Guys I'm at a bit of a stand still with my Horizon 6 deployment and I am hoping to get assistance.  I have a connection to the server running on the network 10.0.244.x, works very well with smart card authentication.  I have a security server in the demilitarized zone, which connects to the server connection on the allowed ports and that seems fine.  However, I can not connect to the Security Server (which is on the 172.14.x.x network just for reference) via the smart card.  I just get the error "smart card authentication is required."  I'm forcing smart card authentication, so the error is not bad, but I can't understand what prevents security server passing the credentials of card chip to connect to the server.  I cut and paste excerpts from newspapers below to help I hope:

    When I had this problem, I had not set up the file locked.properties on the Security server.  I also made the mistake of not showing files in Windows Explorer extensions, while it looked like locked.properties, it was locked.properties.txt.

  • When I click on the "contact" icon in any site to contact support, etc., instead of a get a screen of unique composition, several dial screens continue to open.

    Additional dial screens continue until I finally managed to close Firefox.

    I tried with Internet Explorer and I do not have this program, then I guess that my Firefox settings need fixing.

    Could you try to change your setting mailto in the next tab:

    Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Options > Applications

    In the search box, type or paste mailto and make a pause so that the list is filtered.

    If you check the drop-down list on the right, make a note of the current e-mail client or Web site. Is this right? There are several entries for the client/site? You can try to switch to another, saving, and then return to the dialog box and put back. Sometimes it improves things.

    You can also reset your options application (AKA download actions) on the default values of Firefox. The file that stores the information sometimes is damaged and needs to be regenerated (or faked, but its format is difficult to clean manually).     After the reset, go back in the options of the Application to select your favorite again mail website.

  • Dialer iOS10 freezes successive

    Hello

    I upgraded my 6 s iPhone iOS 10 over the weekend and since then my Dialer app freezes successive, basically he becomes insensitive and even the app closing and reopening does not help, the only option is to let it hang for 10 to 20 seconds that he comes back to life.

    It is not possible to directly restore a deleted custom dial.

    However, you can easily add a new color dial and then repeat the customizations:

    • When displaying the time on your watch: firmly on the face of the watch, swept to the left until you reach the new watch face option > press the new button '+' > highlight color (using the digital Crown) dial > press to select it.

  • SMS sending/Editing and functions copy paste text supported in Firefox OS?

    Couldn't find options to send SMS or change text messages, neither could find the options copy paste general text. More importantly, in the dial pad, the cursor cannot move to the location you want to add numbers. Am I wrong? If yes how to do these things?

    Dial pad is an excellent suggestion! You must file a bug for it by going to https://bugzilla.mozilla.com

    Regarding text editing, would be only considered the problem of copy / paste? We currently do not support the copy and paste, but obviously, that will come in the future.

    Have you checked in Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions?

    You can also try to disable all other extensions in case one of them gets involved.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

  • How can I make Speed Dial my Home Page?

    I speed Dial on my toolbar, but I wish it were my home page.

    If you mean no built-in page of the new Firefox tab (9 thumbnails of frequently visited sites), but rather one of your two-speed dial extensions, could check if there is an integrated framework to support your homepage?

    To access the settings of the extension, usually you will find an Options button for it in the list here (next to the toggle button):

    Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category (in the left column, click on Extensions)

    I use the standard watch face, but a time for Las Vegas keeps appearing at the top of the watch in small print.  I can't change that too, a city actually, I care.  I made changes in the Word timer on my watch and my iPhone, I even remove the cities of weather, there is no way I can make it disappear or (what I want) change in another city.  I would like to see a second time of cities, but I can't seem to change

  • Speed dial installs, but the icon does not appear

  • One of the dials on speed dial will not erase

    When I try to change one of the dials on speed dial in Waterfox numbers, it will not allow him. It does ok until I launch Waterfox and returns the old dial. It is the face of hell.
