  • No sound after reformatting on Dell Dimension 2350 XP SP3

Only, I went to read an mp3 file after reformatting last week and got this: "Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with the audio device". My multimedia audio controller, Device Manager has a yellow question mark and a code 28 by the bit of General properties. It's a Dell Dimension 2350 with SP3. Just let the Hardware Wizard find the driver for me?

    http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/ca/en/cadhs1

Click on the link above, all your system drivers are here.

Expand the Audio, there is only one pilot, click on download, note when you save the file in.

Double-click the file to install the driver.

Save the link above if you need others.

If you have the CD Drivers and Utilities provided with the system, the drivers are on the CD.

Yes, you can leave the installer for you, also Windows Update installs for you, but it is preferable to install yourself, Windows makes mistakes!

  • Installing drivers after Windows XP reinstall on Dell Dimension 2350 with Dell resource disk

    Hi all

Recently, I did a clean reinstall of Windows XP (home edition) on my Dell Dimension 2350. Everything went well. Now, I need to install the appropriate drivers. I have the Dell resource disk and this is where the problem starts.
As noted elsewhere, after reinstallation of that display on the screen of the disk resource is as it is in 'Safe Mode '. I was aware of this. Therefore, the search criteria screen resources drive was a little bigger than the screen of the monitor. I managed to its size to fit the screen, but this really isn't the problem, is the following: the search criteria options I have in the dropdown menus (on screen) are the following:

System model: all, DXC061, DXP0G1 Dimension, Dimension E521, DM061, Dimension C521, XPS710 (who, if necessary, to choose?)

Operating system: (I think I got this one) all, Windows XP

Topic: (maybe this one too), Dell Diagnostics, Diagnostics, drivers, Applications, utilities

For the life of me I can't understand the correct drivers, I am to install *. Windows XP appears in the menu of the operating system. I know enough about the order of installation, but as I said, I'm a little confused on the selection of the drivers from the disc. This computer is not connected to the internet at the moment so I can't download and use any kind of pilot program. Other research have confused me more far and provided no precise answer to this problem.
If anyone can enlighten me on the solution step by step to this (I think "Dell resource disk for Dummies"), I would be extremely grateful.

    Thank you all!

    * If it will help, I went in (with "Show Hidden Files" active) Device Manager and it shows (with the yellow question mark) are:
Other devices: Ethernet Controller, multimedia Audio Controller, video controller (VGA Compatible).

You need, in the order of installation:

    1. Driver Chipset
    2. Video driver (depends on what video card)
    3. Audio driver
    4. Network driver (depends on who you are)
    5. Modem driver, if you are using a modem

Go to the Support page and put in your Service tag. He expected to give you the drivers you need. You can download them to any PC and copy it to a USB key for installation on 2350.

You only need applications, if you actually use them (for example, Roxio, Jasc Paintshop, etc.).

Then install your antiviral software and get in line on the Microsoft Update site for all patches and updates.

Please keep in mind that XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, and they stopped release of the security fixes for XP and IE9, more than 1 year. So they're all two full of security holes and put your data personal in danger.

  • With a card of 512 MB of memory of a dimension E520 in dimension 2350

I replaced the 512 MB memory card in my Dimension E520 and want to know if I can use this card to add 512 MB memory in my Dimension 2350?

    The E520 has a Pentium D CPU 3 .0GHz and 2350 is a Pentium 4 CPU 2 GHz.

    MarkWGF27

This will not work because the two systems are not compatible, the e520 has DDR2 RAM and 2350 supports DDR memory, in fact, DDR2 modules cannot be installed in the slots of the DDR.

  • Dell Dimension 2350 HDD Upgrade

    Hi people,

First post here, so go easy on me!

My machine, as indicated above, has the original 60 GB hard disk (delivered in January 2003), and everything is OK.  However, one of my friends bought a Hitachi 7K 160 160 GB 3.5 sister "PATA hard drive internal to his pc, which is longer needed.  This corresponds to the element.  Can I use it on my D2350?  Updates only that I did to my machine are a RAM (1 GB) and of course XP to SP3.

I have the disks of resettlement came with the pc and reinstall XP drive is SP1.

I read that the 2350's origin comes with 120 GB of disks hard max?  As my BIOS has not been upgraded since, it would be able to handle a capacity of 160 GB?

I'd appreciate it really all advice offered.

Yes, this disc will work in your 2350. You will need support to keep the player, which can be easily found by searching online.

  • Replacing hard drive in dimension 2350

    Hello

I have a drive of 30G, which I replaced with a Seagate ST3160815A, ultra ata/100 160 GB with 8 MB of cache, if I was confident on how to get the disc cloned before replacement. I looked through the forums and can't see how to make clear what I want to do.

I want to clone the existing drive and replace it with a new one cloned, juggling the old one as a back up in my safe. I heard there is in the case of connections that allow somehow temporarily connect the two drives and all across the transfer to the new drive. I want the new disc is identical to the old disk, with all the XP updates, so that the next time I start up, the computer will appear the same, just with the largest capacity.

I am concerned about how to connect readers and what must be paid temporary cable to achieve. I understand that the Seagate drive will come with the software so that once the cables are correct, cloning is a breeze (Please correct me if this is an oversimplification).

  • Have Dell Dimension 2350 with windows XP computer recognizes the CD/DVD-rom drives but won't play CDs or DVDs

Problem started with a code 39 error code when cumputer did not recognize the readers of CD rom. cure the problem of recognition, but still cannot read any DVD or CD should I replace the disk driver

If AZEEZ N article did not help you, then try to reinstall the drivers.

I had the same problem - the computer showed cd/dvd players, but he has not read cd'dvd. I showed it to a computer repair man and he said if reinstalling drivers does not help, then this means that there is a hardware problem and you will need to purchase a new cd/dvd-rom...
I bought a new drive and now the problem is gone!
  • Possibility of mounting of a solid state (SSD) to a Dimension 2400 PC drive

    1. most will know are the Dimension pc about 8 years and the 2400 model was equipped with a 40 GB HARD disk factory.

    2. while I installed a 160 GB HARD drive, and still the computer has little stored on, start-up and General switching on is slow. I think editing an SSD.

    3. no wizz kids to answer the following please?

3.1 electronically and physically a SSD can be installed.

3.2 an SSD accelerates all the processes - it will be or will not be there.

    3.3 is now cost-effective SSD.

3.4 I am considering this level rather than another machine, because a change it will mean not an SSD will be mounted.

4.0, I have a very modern to use based on thermionic valves - keeps the hot room!

Could you clarify the statement "and, if you want the drive activity light hard Panel before work, you'll need get a LED of the pins on the map to the front"?

If you want the Hard Drive activity LED on the front of the chassis to Flash as it flashes with the onboard IDE, you will very probably replace the existing LED by a third party. It's actually quite easily, and you can replacements of correspondence from China through eBay.

I have never tried one of the bridges and may not stand guarantor for their efficiency. I have, however, used maps PCI SATA with the Dimension 2350 and 3000, with excellent results.

  • Error: File Asms needed Windows XP Home edition after repair of operating system. (Windows 7 upgrade)

Original title: asms file necessary windows xp home edition, after operating system repair.

I know it's old but I try to get on my mothers pc so it can transfer files to a drive hard usb. This computer had virus in there and caused certain files be rearranged. I took out the virus

I could not access the Device Manager as he disappeared. The computer does not recognize the hard drive usb, so I decided to fix the pc using the re installation disc.

The computer fixed itself, but now I get this message saying file asms is necessary. I tried to use the steps in this article (311755 KB), but still the same problem. I would like to use the recovery console, but I do not know the password for the administrator of safe mode.
The computer that had repaired the operating system is a dell dimension 2350 and I used the original windows xp disc.
I have a disc of windows 7 but the graphics card on the computer is less than adequate. I was wondering if I could calm down the graphics in the windows Classic theme for windows 7 will work and is it possible to save files because the computer is always on the xp Setup

Your specifications (RAM) are not quite the minimum requirements for WIndows 7 as shown here:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/system-requirements

However, Microsoft recommends 128 MB of RAM for XP as shown here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314865

So I think that their minimum requirements are a lot of hooey for most environments.  He can run, but you're probably not going to it.

If you want to see if you can get your work in XP (I'm not familiar with this problem), if you do a little research on Google for phrases like claire XP administrator password, I forgot XP administrator password reset XP administrator password, etc.. I'm pretty confident that you will find a way to go beyond this little bump on the road.  Simply clear the password and be on your way.

We are supposed to simply not to tell you how to do such things, so I fall just a few tips :)

  • Could someone tell me the best way to transfer files and settings from an old computer to a newer version?

Hello everyone, once again I find myself going to the pro to know what you're probably going to think is an easy thing to do, but I have to swallow my pride and ask anyway. Before I ask my question, I need to let you know that I'm almost completely computer illiterate. I can manage to do somethings, but I have a feeling this is going to be difficult. I have an older Dell model, this is the Dimension 2350 series and I would like to transfer those things on that is also a Dell, but it's an Intel Pentium 4. . Really, I don't have as long as it's what files to transfer, but especially picutres of family or your holiday. What worries me is transfer the settings on my old computer to the newest one. I have a Windows XP CD drive that comes with a new computer. What help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!  Can you give me an idea what I have to do first with the old as in the steps I have to take.

    Question for you:

What is the operating system on both systems?  They are both Windows XP?  Is the older Windows XP and the newer Windows Vista?  Windows 7?  Something else?

I ask only because whatever you mentioned was a Windows XP CD that is supplied with the newest computer.  The truth - the newest computer is already up and working as you want - if not relevant.  The answer to the foregoing will help someone lead you correctly.

  • What model Acre Tower is like my old Dell?

Query: I have now a Dimension 2350 - Premium 4CPU 1.8 GHz I added Ram to 768 MHz. It is now about 9 years. There a failure of the heat sink clip and I need to replace. I would like to know what new models (tour) that resemble the layout. [ports, slots of material, size etc..] I want enough hard drive, ram, that would be useful for several years.

Something in our T series is probably the closest in appearance to your old Dell. You can see a complete list of models and specifications to http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/series/aspiremt.

  • Samsung DVD - ROM SD - 616E driver will not play DVDs in Windows xp sp3 Home Edition

Dear supporters, Im having problems playing movies on my Samsung DVD - ROM SD-616E installed on my Windows XP SP3 Home Edition Dell Dimension 2350..., a box of lil in the center of my watch windowsmedia player a message saying no compatible dvd decoder is not installed? Help, please? thanx.

FWIW... Win XP cannot natively recognize Commercial
DVD video... it requires a DVD decoder.

If you could play before commercial video DVD...
do a system restore to a time before this started
    may be your solution.

Or you could buy a DVD decoder at the following link:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Info about DVD decoders:

Or you can download and use one of the following freeware

    (works on XP/Vista/7)

Or... you can try to download and install one of the
    Following codec packs.

(FWIW... it is always preferable, if you create a system restore
point before installing any software or updates).
