Try to reinstall the default RAM you have removed and see if the E310 boots properly.

If it does not start, it would seem that memory you bought is not compatible with the Dimension E310.

You type a letter in a word processing program (Microsoft Word, Corel
WordPerfect, OpenOffice, etc.). Do you have a word processing program
    installed?

If you have not installed Word processing program, you can use
WordPad, which ships with Windows. But note that WordPad is a very
primitive processing program (really more a glorified text)
Editor in Chief) and gives you much less control over the formatting to a real
    processing.

  • Dell E310 - toner does not work?

    Hi all

I have the Dell E310 printer. I bought the new original toner Dell E310/E514/E515 series P7RMX, but it is not possible to put the toner in the Dell printer. It seems that this toner is too small for y. Where would be the problem? The previous toner was Dell E310/E514/E515 series KJ0Y3, much larger size. What is the P7RMX and the KJ0Y3?

Thank you for your help and answers.

    V. Vavra

    V. Vavra,

KJ0Y3 and P7RMX are part number of toner cartridges, the first for the boat - with toner provided with the printer and the second for the toner to high performance that you have purchased.

    Toners are the same size.

From your description the P7RMX is too small, I think it's because when you remove the toner from the printer KJ0Y3, he is still committed to the drum as shown below

You will need to separate the toner into the drum by pressing the blue lever on the lower left corner.  The two parts will be released easily as shown below.

After that, insert the new P7RMX toner into the drum and the location of the assembly combined again in the printer.

    I hope this helps.

  • Driver for Dimension E310 for Windows 8.1

    Hi all

I hope someone here can help me because I have exhausted all the options I can think. Any way to get the car to the Dell Dimension E310 video work with Windows 8.1? I know that Dell does not have a driver, but it is there any unofficial driver or work around out there who will get my video to work?

    Thank you.

Any way to get the car to the Dell Dimension E310 video work with Windows 8.1?

Intel is responsible to support the onboard video, not Dell; due to the severe limitations in this material, it is not supported on Vista and later versions of Windows.

You can update modern video through either a combination of the Startech adapter and a modern PCIe - x 16 video card (for example, based on the famous GPU 6450) or use is PCI or PCIe - x 1 video card.

More information on updating the E310/3100 can be found in this thread.

  • Dimension E310 will identify the 2nd HARD drive

I am trying to add a 2nd HARD drive on my Dimension E310 (WinXP Media Center Edition 2005) without success.  I bought a naked WD10EZEX and 1.0 TB SATA cable and have physically installed the drive and connected the power cable from Garland.  SATA data cable is connected to the SATA-2 port.  When I go into the BIOS settings, the original boot drive 80 GB is recognized but the second disc of 1.0 TB is not.  I turned on the port, but the disc ID says 'unknown '.  If I spend two readers autour, the first hard disk (CT 1.0) is recognized but the second disc (the original 80 GB) drive ID: unknown.  BIOS is version A03 (08/10/05).  What I am doing wrong or do I not have a defective SATA-2 port?

Hi, Osprey4.  Thanks for your suggestions.  I tried to connect just one drive at a time for the second SATA port, leaving the first open port and got the same results.  No disc has been recognized.  I chose to not reset the CMOS.  It seems the second port does not work.  I can accept and manage with just one port I have available with the larger HARD drive.

Thanks again for your support.  I'll mark this thread as "resolved".

  • Dimension E310 upgrade question?

I just put a dimension E310 of a 2.8 pentium 4 HT to a 3.4 pentium 4 HT. I know that the processor has improved the level of speed, but I do not see in the BIOS. It works well, but I can't really notice much difference in performance and CPU is greater than 80% most of the time. When you try to open something, it goes straight to 100% as well as at the start. Is there some way I can turn on the speed stage, maybe an upgrade of the bios for this computer has this option?

SpeedStep lowers performance by pointing to the bottom of the cpu to save energy.

The Mhz myth that is just a myth.  2 X Mhz does not equal 2 X speed.

    This is why a 1.8Ghz core 2 duo beats a 3.8 Ghz Pentium 4.

  • Windows 7 is compatible with a dell e310?

Windows 7 can be installed on my Dell E310

Yes, no doubt possible. It will work ok? Probably not...

    Dell mahine compatibility.

    http://support.Dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/KCS/document?docid=273634#Issue0_1

Cannot find any mention of the Dimension E310.

Some models of Dell budget had a slot for internal video card. As a result, graphics performance can be mediocre to bad, and there is nothing that can be done about it.

80 GB HDD, is a little touch. Since Vista, everything takes more space and it must leave space for swap files, updates, service packs more than space for expansion and free alternative space too, about 25% if you want to maintain hard drive performance.

You must also at least 2 GB of RAM, to compensate for the shortfall in overall performance.

Personally, I would stick with XP on this machine.

  • Dimension E310-NO BOOT DEVICE AVAILABLE!

I tried to install a new 320 GB HDD, internal, in my Dimension E310 desktop environment, but I get an error message that reads, "floppy seek failure" on the 1st line, & below it reads "No Boot Device available, strike F1 key to reboot, F2 for Setup utility".

Ive done hard drive tests that pass.  According to a Dell support link, so it could b a software problem.  I have to buy another software?

The model starts just fine if I reinstall the old hard drive.

I bought this model in ' 05, 6 to 8 months later would not start then a supporter of Dell Tech ran me through a reprogramming of the model.  Since the Ive started then every time the comp Ive had to press F1 for her to run, & Ive not had any problems since.

How can I use my computer to work normally with the new hard drive?
