  You can edit > Preferences > General and then uncheck the box use area select, but it means that you need to knock or drag on the path when you use the normal selection tool.

  And it's always good to be able to make a success and train your finger to spring.

  Hi, I have CS2 on Windows XP. For some reason any (probably operator error) I can move me is no longer the rectangular selection tool in a fixed size around my image mode. When I am developing for, for example, 8.5 "x 11" it just sits there. I used to be able to develop, then move it on the photo until I got it when I wanted to harvest. Does anyone have ideas, what's happened? I also note that the crosshairs now have a small bar in the lower quadrant right when I roll my mouse over the photo. Not sure if this is significant.   It drives me crazy! I have not used the program in a few months and I'm guessing that it updated. Everything is different, and now when I try to select an item and move it, or select multiple items at once and move them, nothing happens. When I drag and output, the entire page moves, but everything I wanted to do move remain on-site. I can move them if I select each item individually, hold the shift key while clicking.   Since this recent update, I was not using my mouse to move an image, text, etc. I use CC2014 on my Mac, not working not Yosemite.

  I have already tried:

  Clicking on some keys when opening Indesign so it will clear preferences - did not work.

  Restarted my computer - will run for a few minutes then stops

  InDesign uninstalled and reinstalled - nothing

  Uninstalled full CC suite and ran CC cleaner - removed all instances of the Adobe folder on my mac, removed trash, restarted the computer, and reinstalled - there is nothing, same problem.

  I am really frustrated because I really don't want to use my arrow keys to move the items. All the solutions to get rid of this annoying problem?

  When objects are selected, the bounding box appears, but neither the paths or anchor points appear. How do I rectify this? I guess I've accidentally changed a setting, but there seems to be little light brought back online.

  CTRL / Cmd + H, view > show edges.

  The Polygonal Lasso tool will not systematically put points on a selection. When I click on select and moving to another point at random don't graph a line from the last point to the new I want. As I belong to art class, when Basic programs have been re-installed we also got the Adobe programs, but we got the CC 2015 version instead of the version CS5, we had earlier. After a stressful week, I finally had time to sit and work on my projects aside, but I quickly found a big problem which stops at my work. After re size the image at the size I want, I don't see the whole picture when I move in the smallest area with the direct Selection tool more. Photos I use are generally quite large, that I've tried to work with now are 451mmx338mm after the scaling down and I have a 'framework of standard departure' to 60mmx15mm (I make the bosses), so now I have basically has to guess my way toward a good composition...

  Can I make it work again?
