  The title says it all!

  My girlfriend showed me her cell phone yesterday. She manually stop it on the start menu, leave for a few minutes, close the lid, then watches in joy as the computer laptop Springs revive again.

  I checked and the judgment indeed makes a stop, not a hibernation or something like that. I also changed the lid closed to "nothing" action and "stop" and I tried various methods to stop this strange behavior. My only solution was to have vista recognize the lid close like a stop action and have this control by turning off the laptop. Unfortunately, my girlfriend is a woman of routine and like to manually turn off the laptop before closing the lid, so my solution is not a long-term one.

  One thing that I've seen is that she had managed to install Uniblue Registry Booster. I quickly removed it, but wonder if it could have changed his behaviour of the laptop? Surely the fact if boots up when it is turned off when the lid is closed could not be attributed to Vista or whatever it is that was done for her?

  When you change your application, the close method is not pushed directly so I think that you look elsewhere this

  Try to use the Application Switch with an application example - say the sample HelloWorld application.  I think he won't, which suggests that the problem is in your application.

  There are three places to look:

  (a) the Application disable method is pressed when the request is sent to the background.  Maybe you have coded it and it closes the application

  (b) you have a certain type of background processing controls (isForeground()) and reacts according to what it finds.

  (c) in the method onObscured() to one of theFields/screen on the display at once.  .

  Other than that, I think you're looking for a general bug in your application.  The starting point is to look at the debugging log when you do this - look for anything from your application you consider odd.

  The cause was not determined, but evidence tends to a disturbance in the download or installation process, with one of the errors in the event log is an error in checksum on one of the modules. With a large file, 745 meg, the mean time to failure on a LAN network is probably shorter than the download time.  The installation process was probably longer than the time that the system has increased...  Corrective actions for Microsoft could include more small download / install, not allowing an automatic installation for automatic download over a certain size, or deal with the best controls during installation to intercept the checksum error.  Duane G. • Windows Movie Maker for Vista crashes when the publication of film to 99% all 5 remaining seconds

  I am running Vista and have tried to publish a movie of 2 hours on my pc using a number of different formats.  Still, it hangs at 99% with 5 seconds remaining.  I have 800 GB free on my hard drive, a quad core cpu and 8 GB of RAM.  Any help to do this would be greatly appreciated.  Movie Maker version is 6.0 (Build 6001:SP1).

  I checked my Windows logs and found no errors.
  Then, I took my video and remove all but 1 minute and tried to create a movie.  It worked.  Then I went back to the original big movie I tried to save and delete the last two seconds of him.  Who did the trick.  I have no idea how the end a few images to an existing sequence of wmv could spoil of Movie Maker, but the problem is now resolved.
