DirectX 11 questions

I recently bought a new videocard ATI Radeon 5770, and I know it's one card that is compatible with directx 11. However, I can't find where to download it. All I can find is that it comes with SP2 with vista, but I have service pack 2, and when I run dxdiag, it says I still have directx 10. I'm currently running vista 64-bit, if someone could point me where to download directx 11, it would be much appreciated.

Check Control Panel-> programs-> installed updates, maybe the fix is already installed. Also make sure that you use the x 64 version of the update on a 64-bit Windows.

Thank you for posting. I have additional information for you. You should be able to install the x 9 direct which is included with the game. It will not affect your Direct X 10 in Vista, but just installs the files need Direct X 9 for the game runs correctly. I have a few games that I had to do this with so that they would even play. Vista will allow you to have Direct X 9 and Direct X 10 installed at the same time.

WRT54GS v1.1. DirectX Upnp question XP Pro 32 bit

I started having serious problems with my linksys router. I have the latest firmware v4.70.8

I can't host games for FS2004. Desktop PC is also XP Pro 32-bit (all updates) I searched the net and found the issue:

DirectPlay test results: failure at step 9 (Session creation): HRESULT = 0 x 80158185 (error code).

FIX (Solution):

After hours of re - install the DX9.a from a cd of games I found that I still had the error in the DXDIAG tool. I checked my laptop that has a new installation of XP Pro 32 bit and it gave the same error so assumed it was not question DX... so read forums everywhere and...

If I disable Upnp in the routers firmware can I host and I don't get the error above.

Can someone tell me how to communicate that firmware must be updated to fix this?

2 theoretical questions about WDDM driver and directx

1. I tried to understand the difference between the video card driver and driver microsoft WDDM. I know that WDDM driver is downloaded during the update, and video card driver is just video card driver is. But what exactly is the difference between this 2 drivers? you need both to operate the computer corectly, is that each driver has a function for the satisfaction?

2. I know that x wil direct automatically updated with service packs and the new version of windows. I also advise to upgrade for windows 8 or 7 who can tell you if your system is compatible or not. but my question here is an old video card can support the new directx versions or the video card needs to be upgraded too to support directx 12 for example?

WDDM is a architecture (some details in the link below), and I think that is what generates the weak base
Resolution Windows desktop when no graphcis driver is installed, but there is also a generic
Windows graphic driver.
While always a basic graphics driver, this driver allows to use the full resolution and run Windows
When no drivers are installed for your processor graphcis.
This driver installs with Windows and needs to be reinstalled automatically when you restart if you
uninstall the graphics drivers.
In this case, you would initially start in Windows mode low resolution and see a pop up
stating something to the effect that Windows installs graphics drivers.
Sometimes, people confuse it with drivers for their graphics processor.

What exactly is the problem you are having?

I found one thread which refers to the installation of directX, if you are facing the same question, you can consult the steps mentioned in the article of 'fatboie' and 'Azeez N.

A .cab file needed for installation is not reliable. Please verify that the Cryptographic Services are enabled.

can I uninstall directx10.1 and reinstall it separately or's done it with uninstalling and reinstalling video card driver? If you can uninstall directx 10.1 separately what steps I need to take?

If I update my chipset to new version bad configuration will be protection as the bios update, or there is no risk to update the chipset?

The video card drivers are not DirectX updates

Games is usually delivered with DirectX components required by them, Steam will also install required DirectX files when you start a game for the first time

DirectX is not a good program, but rather as a collection of many libraries

Install DirectX using web installer it detects and installs missing/incorrect libraries

Regarding the chipset drivers, you can install drivers safely from official sources such as the website of your computer manufacturer

Try a system restore to a Date before the problem began:

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Satellite L300 - can't play Call of Duty 2 - DirectX error

I'm having a problem with my L300.
This is under windows XP with all the drivers and there is no problem with some games, but when I try to play Call of Duty 2, I get an error that I can't fix.

I would ask for your help cause this computer is new and the game takes place on my old pc with no problem.
But why I can't run it on my new pc.

Start the DirectX using the command * dxdiag *.
There, you should check if all acceleration graphics card options have been enabled.

If that does not help, then you should try to update the graphics driver.
In most cases, the old graphics driver causes these questions because it s not completely compatible with the game.

I put t know which model of laptop you have but last Toshiba computers laptops are preinstalled with the same version of DirectX. Alternatively, you can install it.

I am trying to install a game open source called Rigs of Rods on my dual-boot MacBook Pro with Windows 7 installed via Boot Camp. I get an error that prevents the installation of DirectX. I know that Win 7 includes DirectX 11, but this game does not currently support the DX 11. If I get this error when you try to install DirectX 9. I had a similar problem with another game that I tried installing on another machine Win 7 which is not started in dual mode, and install DirectX 9 worked perfectly. I downloaded a free trial puzzle game called Pandora's box. When I tried to install my computer ask DirectX6.1 .my system runs on windows 7 hp. and I found some stuf directx in a search on my computer. I searched online for directx6.1 and it did not. I found directx9.0 downloaded and tried to upgrade but not worked, I even treid to find directx I could buy and drop-outs, but without success. so my question is where can I get this version of directx will run any game I want and how I install it?
