Question to download DirectX after Microsoft Vista updates

I downded an update from microsoft to fix an error code d3dx9_36.dll.  Once I did I now have tons of small icons of folders everywhere in my start page?  How can I fix it?

Thank you

Try a system restore to a Date before the problem began:

Restore point:

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

See you soon.

While on my computer, I received a pop-up to restart my computer for Windows updates.  I fact and 2 of the 3 downloaded.  For the 3rd, my computer restarts, the vista logo appears and the screen is blue saying 'configuration update 3 of 3 0% complete'.  The problem is it never moves 0, constantly restarts itself and has been done for more than a week (I can't leave my computer on all day).  I'm frustrated and want to come back on my computer, but no matter what I do (restart it, put it in SafeMode...) it won't go past the error message.  What should I do to fix my computer and have it show the office, etc. ?

  • connection after the vista update problems

After that windows vista updates, restarts and configures, I can't seem to login screen. I type the correct password, but the screen only flashes for a second and watch the blue progress ring, but then comes back to the right of the login screen. I have to restart and run system restore just to connect, this happened last week with the same update and is quite a nuisance. Updates include:
    (important)
    Update for Windows Vista (KB971029)

Windows malicious software removal tool - March 2011 (KB890830)

    (optional)
Updated the Realtek for Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller driver

-Input - Synaptics Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad

    Windows Live Essentials 2011 (KB2434419)

    Hi Raziel,

First of all, we will do two important things:

    1. DON'T download or install updates from Windows Update for Realtek and Synaptics (or any other device drivers).  Instesd of get them through Windows Update, go to the computer or Web sites of the device manufucaturer to get the latest update and install instead.  Hide these two Windows updates so they don't mind again.  Unless expressly stated by the manufuacturer for updates from the Windows Update driver, always bring manufacturers instead.  They are the cause of many problems of update.

    2. in prior to starting the updates (and for each 3 other updates and driver updates), create a System Restore Point.  Of allows to install the other three updates one at a time and manually instead of through Windows Update.  Go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx and look for the KB number and download the update appropriate for your version of Vista and install it, and restart and make sure that all is well before you more on the following.  If we have the same problem, use the restore system back out of it and post back here with the specific update that won't install manually as well as any error information, you can find the problem.  If we can reduce it to one, we will have a better chance of coming up with a solution.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Windows 7 splash screen will not change after the vista update

After updating vista 32 bit to windows 7 32 bits, the splash screen will not change and he showed the vista boot. I read a lot of forum and the web page, but this solution:

«.. . the dummies and bad start screen for Windows 7 is due to the locale entry in the startup folder, which could not be set when editing or rebuilding the BCD. When the locale is not found, Windows boot loader doesn't know what local startup folder to look for the animated bootscreen. Thus, in order to fix the boot screen so that the splash screen can be re-established, restored or reset to original animated Windows 7 boot screen, just run one of the following commands at the prompt with administrator rights:

    bcdedit/set {current} settings regional en-US

    or

    BCDboot % WinDir % / l en

Change the US to the language version of Windows 7 installed, as ja - JP, en - us, es - ARE, pt - BR, zh - CN, zh - TW, fr - FR, fi - FI and etc.

Restart the computer after running the command to see the new boot UI (user interface) be used again. To check if the locale has been entered properly, just run the bceedit command in the command prompt that is running as an administrator... »

not solved my problem and also know for many users... after updating vista in windows 7 splash screen stay the same...

    Thanks for your help

  • Computer won't turn on after a Vista update. How can I fix?

Yesterday, I tried to install a Vista update.  It was wide enough because the message says that I wouldn't be able to use my computer for about an hour.  I started the process and the left.  4hours later I returned and my computer is waiting for permission to restart to continue the update process.  I rebooted and for a while it seemed to make progress.  Again, I have left for another 3 hours or more, and when I got back to my computer was hibernating and wouldn't wake up.  After trying to wake up in vain for 15 minutes, I made a forced stop.  During its restart in safe mode, I got a message saying that the computer failed to start and suggested a system recovery, who did.  He worked on that when I had to go to work.  Throughout this process, he has been connected with a full battery.  4 hours later I went back to work.  Despite being connected, with the lit sheet icon, my computer was off with the battery low light flashing.  I tried to turn it on.  He showed the black and grey, window prompting me to start in SafeMode or start regularly, before I could choose, the low battery alarm when off the coast and off the computer.  Now, I can't turn on my computer with or without the battery then that plugged or unplugged.  I don't know what the exact date was, just that it's an update to Vista.

    Hello

It sounds like a hardware error which would happen at the next reboot and is
probably incidental to the update. You need help from a real computer store (one who
internal service and not of leeks and display a Best Buy or other stores)
or support from the system manufacturer.

    I hope this helps.

  • Microsoft Vista update don't work

    Hello

My Microsoft Update function is dead when I have it set to automatically get all updates.
Previously, when I got it notify and install manually, everything worked fine.

Now, nothing is updated and any attempt to open the update causes a suspended process (not answer) and demand, which can only be closed through taskmanager.

I wrote to Microsoft - after spending hours trying to find a solution - but has been tossed to Toshiba, as the Vista Business SP1 operating system was pre-installed.
What is worse that in today globalized world I wonder what my country.
My native country, where I live, I work where I am right now?
As I am in Poland at the moment, I'm redirected to a Polish page - but I do not speak Polish.

    So, how to get help?
Should I try with Toshiba or Microsoft? Is there a central contact with that I can contact?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

As I know the Microsoft hotline guys don t want to provide any support if the Microsoft operating system was purchased under OEM license. They said always; go to your manufacturing for laptop

In any case usually the Win operating system should be able to receive the MS patches automatically if parameters have been defined for the automatic update

What have you changed on the OS?

Have you installed the SP1 of Vista MS?
Otherwise you can download it manually from the MS site and could then try to install it on your Vista.

  • Computer guard reboot after installing Vista updates.

I downloaded and installed updates for Vista, and now I can not start Vista. The computer displays a message "Configuring updates: stage 3 of 3 0% complete." for several seconds, then restarts. Start in safe mode does not help and I can not boot Vista. How can I solve the problem?

    Hello!

    Thanks for your reply.
Here are answers to your questions and suggestions.

    (1) remember you to make changes to the computer before the show?

I did all the changes except the installation of the hotfix.

    (2) you get an error message?

    N °

Unfortunately, none of the suggested methods did not work and I could not star Windows.

So I had to call to our local Microsoft Support Center, and the problem is solved. Unfortunately, I don't remember all the steps. I myself remember I had to rename c:\windows\winsxs\pending.xml to pending.old, and then I couldn't windows starts. Then I had to make some modifications to save and delete files (I think it's the history of downloaded updates).

If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:

As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista repair disc.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

There is not a disk of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

  • Office 2007 does not open after the Vista update

    Hello world

I've been using a trial version of Office 2007 Standard supplied with my notebook for almost two months without any problem. Yesterday I updated to Vista x 64 and now I get a "the application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect." pop up when I try to open any office program.

I uninstalled and downloaded another version to test, but when I try to open Word or any other part of the office, I get the same error.

Out of all the "" regular updates, it's the only one that is a new: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x 64 I guess this is the prob.

I tried to uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, but the uninstall program always, said: "Setup.exe has stopped working".

Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

  • Outlook 2007 does not open after Windows Vista update 25 August 09 [Qosmio G50]

I thought that it would be useful to others to post my experience just now.

Yesterday (25 August 2009) my Outlook 2007 worked perfectly. I had downloaded & installed Outlook Connector 12.1 because I had received an email from Microsoft to say that the DAV protocol used for HTTP messaging would be withdrawn 1 / Sep / 09. I also noticed that MS had restored the POP3 service that they have closed a couple of years.

Then I configured the POP3 account and started working with that. Everything is OK.

Last night when I closed, Windows Update came and completed the reboot this morning. Outlook 2007 wouldn't start, coming up with the message: + cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. Failed to open all the files. The information store could not be opened. +.

Nothing that I've done in this environment would allow Outlook 2007 load, I created a new profile and who was not good.

So I went back to the Restore Point system with the installation of Outlook Connector and everything comes to life.

I tried also the restore point which challenge the update of Windows, but who does not cure the problem either.

So, I'll see what happens when I reboot again, in the case where he had nothing to do with Windows Update.

    See you soon

    Very strange
But maybe the Windows update was really responsible for this problem it is hard to believe, but it's not impossible
