I am still using Firefox on Windows XP
Using "Forget this Site" will delete all data stored in Firefox in this area as bookmarks, cookies, words of past, cache, history, and exceptions, so be careful and if you have a password or other data from that domain you don't want to lose then check that back up these data or make a comment.
You can't recover from this "forget" unless you have a backup of the files involved.
It has no lasting effect, so if come back you on such a 'forgotten' site, then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.

I clicked "forget this site" and I am looking for a way to undo it. I have heard say there is no way to retrieve the history of a particular site, once it has been deleted, but surely, it leaves some kind of record in the system? I read an article that suggested running the "System Restore" feature which gives me the option to "restore my computer to an earlier time" before that some changes have been made. Would this work?
Hello, windows system restore will not restore the file that contains the history of firefox unfortunately (it's called places.sqlite). you would need a backup of your firefox profile folder to retrieve such data.
Please also update firefox - the version that you are currently using is outdated and affected by many security vulnerabilities.

In the newspaper that I clicked "forget about this site" - how to manage the list of these sites?
"Forget this Site" deletes all the current content (bookmarks, passwords, cookies, cache, history, exceptions) you have saved from a Web site.
It has no lasting effect, so if come back you on such a 'forgotten' site, then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.
You can not recover the forgotten data unless you have a backup of files in the Firefox profile folder. -
Disable "prevents this site of creation of additional dialog boxes.
I use the current version of Firefox and when you use a particular website (Microsoft CRM online) I'm getting frequent pop-up dialog boxes (which is expected functionality).
The question I have is that Firefox will ask me (in a dialog box) if I want to "prevent this Web site to create additional dialog boxes. I understand the reasoning behind this, but I don't want that. I would have preferred that the dialogues will behave in the same way as in other browsers. Can I disable this feature at the domain level or browser?
Hello james.reinhardt, see if the response of the jscher2000 fit for you.
Also note that latest firefox is 33.0.2 (today 4 November 2014).

I'm more than 6 months of the browser history, and browse a lot on twitter. I want to "Forget About" Twitter. Whenever I try to do, Firefox everything crashes and becomes impossible to use. It's the same thing if I try to delete, say, just 6 months ago.
Deletion of the history of my browser should NOT be a process of jumping of browser. My rig is a Phenom IIx4 build, and I'm running out of an SSD. Maybe you guys have tied up all the browser history in some complicated cache for the URL bar, I don't know. But this is pathetic. If I remove 10GBs of crap from my HD for a few seconds, I should be able to delete the history of my browser.
"Firefox 29, with the GUI redesign. He had exactly the same problem. »
Looking at the list of bug fixes for 29.0.1, I don't see anything that could be related to your question. I don't remember what is a problem with previous versions as well.
Right now, I am betting that the problem is local to your profile.Try to remove your history file.
- Go to help > troubleshooting information, and then click Open containing folder. Which will open Windows Explorer in your Firefox profile.
- Closing Firefox.
- In your profile folder, delete the places.sqlite file (or rename). The next time you open Firefox, a new places.sqlite will be created automatically.
- This file contains your history and bookmarks, so you'll need to restore your bookmarks. For instructions, visit https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-bookmarks-from-backup-or-move-them#w_restoring-from-backups

Authorization Manager - how to 'forget' several sites at once
Firefox Authorization Manager allows a user to a site "Forget this Site" at once - but this isn't a practical way to forget hundreds or thousands of sites listed in Authorization Manager. Is it possible to select several sites to Forget, or to treatment by lots-Forget sites, or forget all sites?
Thank you.Hello
You can try to clear recent history through the Tools (Alt + T). Select filtering criteria closely in the timeslot to erase and choose all options under Details. That would be to forget mass some or all of the sites according to the selected time interval.
