Disable the beep

Hey all,.

I have a T60 with Vista Business.  I tried to disable system sounds, but I can't get my computer to stop beeping (very loud) whenever he falls asleep, wakes up, turns off or turns on.  Any suggestions?

Thank you!!

valeo626, welcome to the forum,

It's the power control beep, you can disable this option in the BIOS.

Press F1 to start and go to configuration > alarm > power control beep and turn it off. If you want to take a look first here is a link to the site of BIOS Simulator.

Hope this helps

    View-> devices show hidden

No Plug-and play devices and and open

right click and disable the beep

In addition, it would be important to know what operating system you have.

The beeps lift side of the keyboard can be disabled in the BIOS (BIOS setup > advanced > System Setup). There is an option called beep you have to disable.

  • E320 - how to disable the beep "low battery"?

    Hello

I have an E320 and I'm generally pretty happy.

However: This beep that goes on whenever the akku reached that the critical level (10% by default) is really too strong and too often. Is there a way to disable it?

Now, I'm always afraid it lights if I have it in a meeting more or less.

At least, it should be an OPTION to turn it off! has tried all, silent, all Win7 sounds off the coast but it still beeps! And strong! Woke up at 04:00, strange looks like a meeting, which is really annoying!

I read in the other advice that updates bios fixed or not this issue but regarding the E320 EDGE series saw nothing.

Anyone else has this problem or found a solution?

    Thank you!

one last thing, you can check...

Open your Control Panel sound and check what, if anything, is assigned to the low battery alarm critical battery alarm and on the sounds tab and modify as desired.

    Hello

On model previous laptop (Satellite P500) there is an option in the BIOS to disable the beep of the volume control buttons.

You should find it in the BIOS-Advanced-Online System Configuration online. There is an option called beep that you can disable.

Can you confirm this option on Satellite P750?

  • How can I turn off the beep low battery?

I just bought a laptop of HP ENVY m6.  It is running Windows 8.  I want to know how to disable the beep low battery.  It was not a problem until last night when my battery started to beep before going to bed.  I just close the lid and the beep stopped so I went to sleep.  Then to 4:am, he started a beep again.  I don't know if my computer has made himself, to do an update but not any reason, I would have preferred for the battery to die rather than wake me up in the middle of the night.

It is also just a beep really FORT that scares my younger child whenever it starts.  It's like a race to find the power cord so that it can stop.  I'd rather just a prompt to come on my screen and tell me that I have 10% battery life left.

    Thanks in advance.

I recently offered a Satellite P500-16 t. First of all, I find nowhere any reference of this laptop. So if you have a similar and know how to stop the bipping when I put the sound, I'd be very happy. And, if by chance, you know why this laptop is not in the list of toshiba support, I would like to know as well.

    Thanks to you all.

    Hi topchrunch,

Yes, you can disable the beeper Satellite P500 in the BIOS. Therefore, to access the system configuration and disable the beep. Setup Save & Exit and he works or let's say beep is disabled. :)

Satellite P500-16 t belongs to the PSPGSE series, and as a result, you can download all the drivers and tools here:

  • How can I turn off the beep sound on Num lock, cap lock, and scroll lock keys

How can I disable the beep on the cap lock NumLock and scroll stop?

There is a good chance that you can turn off the beeps by pressing the NumLock key for a little more than 5 seconds. Here's where the ToggleKeys setting are stored.

Go to the Ease of Access Center Control Panel and click make the keyboard easier to use.

Search for Activate the ToggleKeys in the section make it easier to type and uncheck Activate the ToggleKeys. You can uncheck turn on ToggleKeys by pressing the Numlock for 5 seconds more.

Be sure to click on OK endangered.

I have a DELL XPS420 under Windows 7 Home Premium. The PC has a card his Creative SoundBlaster X - Fi Xtreme as an audio device embedded HD.

    Thanks for your suggestions!

Yes, it's, I think you have trouble understanding.

PC sounds are the bells and whistles sounding when you get mail, make a mistake, etc. and are nothing to do with music playback, etc..

Start > Control Panel > sounds > click on the sounds tab > disable the annoying Windows sounds models. Yet once, it will not affect etc. playing music.

I have a DAW Setup and is there nothing worse when you save to have a ringing which passes at a crucial moment! So I disable these sounds, which is what you want, but I can still do reading / audio.

    See you soon,.

  • G60: Turn on the password, system to disable the code: 57770150. Attempt to restore. Have the disks.

It is an old laptop that I bought new week Windows 7 is out, but it is preloaded with Vista.  I got a product key for Windows 7 update but no real drive and did not recovery disc at the beginning.

2011. I had issues and called for what I thought was supported from Microsoft Tech (a number provided by Office Depot employee) and paid for support and allowed them access remotely.

Disreputable company or a person got deep into my system, networking, tried to steal files and installing keylogging and silent channel Skype file bombs and who knows what.  I got the files, file-by-file and moved to external drives, tried many times have this machine wiped and restored.  I have never trusted and ended upward abandonment and to buy a macbook air.  So my HP laptop is currently loaded with Microsoft 7 ultimate with a legitimate key from a school who worked on this subject, but I do not know if the restore was successful since it was never taken away from the factory with Vista settings, first.  I just gave up and set it aside.

On the fast track. A few months ago I decided that I wanted to use this machine again because it has a bigger screen for photo editing and may contain pictures, freeing up space on my macbook air flowing.  However, even with my tip, I could not remember my old password journal.  I finally found a way to bypass my password login, but in the process of game one power new password.  I didn't try anything fancy and can not remember how or why I did it, even.  I was sure it was just my name or a generic name like "admin" or "password"... so I was happy I got, but still had reservations so I did some updates and ordered the Vista restore disks and set it aside again.

Argh.  So now I was ready to move some files from my mac and was almost convinced myself just to use the disks of Vista to default and I DON'T remember the power on password... (I am sure that I would have written this down in the notes on my iphone... but unfortunately, I dropped on concrete a week or two ago and cannot access my notes!)

After a few attempts, I get code: disable the system - 57770150.

It's a bit like Moby * beep * now.  I have no cash or motivation to buy another laptop.  I really want to get THIS phone, which was basically stolen from me to solve some problems at the moment (free space on my mac).

A I completely screw this up after all this?  I've read about taking batteries or pins... never tried it before, but I'm not afraid to take risks because I've already lost everything I could lose on that.

Is there a way to restore discs if I can't power up password screen?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I realize account this message is long, but it's a complicated scenario and I thought that the history of malware, remote access, set at level vista/windows, may be of interest...

    Thank you!

  • Satellite M30: How disable the BIOS boot password?

    Hello

Before my vacation, I activated the startup password in the Bios. Now I want to turn this off, but it does not work. In the Bios, I can go to the Security tab, but I can't change the settings with the F5/F6 key or space. A beep is all I get. Entering on this point, I wonder to set a new password.

Anyone know how to disable the password for a Satellite M30? Please note that I have not forgotten my password, I can always start the machine.

    THX,

    Werner.

PS On this forum, I don't see any topic title, only the name of the authors. Is always normal? It is very convenient that way, but maybe it is related to my pc.

    Hello

I found a step by step explanation to clear a BIOS password:

"Turning on the computer from a State"off"with the ESC key. You are asked "password =". "

Enter the password, and then press ENTER. The unit will display: "the valid password is entered, the system starts up. Check the system. Press key (F1). »

Press the F1 key. This will start the device in the BIOS Setup mode.

Using the arrow keys or tab, move to the password field and select REGISTERED.

Press the SPACE bar, enter the password, and then press ENTER. For now, the password field is transformed into NON REGISTERED. »

    Hope this will help you.
    Good bye
