  Also on the service: unchecking it there on the MSCONFIG tab should be sufficient, as long as this isn't a malicious service that reactivates itself. You can also run services.msc in the box run to open service managers and completely disable the service. Or, view the properties for the file name, the service runs to leave and even take the step of deleting this file (I recommend only put in the trash until you are sure it is safe to delete completely - better safe than sorry).

  Add this option to your call of setup.exe: /disableNotificationCheck

  Then Update Service should not start after reboot. You can always activate the periodic verification later in the preferences.

  McAfee Site Advisor 3.3.1 expansion was the number 2 cause accidents in one of the versions beta Firefox 5.0 and Mozilla Blocklisted it. This extension is disabled in Firefox 5, Firefox 6.0beta and Firefox 7.0alpha versions. McAfee is working on a new version of re-written extension of the Site Advisor to solve their problems - ETA is mid to late July.

  This could be the reason why you do not see the printer in the Control Panel, printers. Try this, go to control panel, printers, if you see the printer listed to remove it. If you don't see the printer, the service could stop, go to services then and click on "Restart the service" (blue link top left), then go back to printing, its listed hopely now and you can remove it (right click). Now try to reinstall the printer.
