Disable the touchpad on a shelf when a keyboard is connected

It gets really annoying. I use a Samsung ATIV Smart PC, and whenever I have to enter my password, the touch keyboard appears EVEN when my real physical keyboard is already connected. In chrome, when I select a text field with my fingers, the touch keyboard arrives. No, I don't want to use the touch keyboard when I have a better physical keyboard already attached.

I'm not sure you understand what is my problem. I can't change anything about the keyboard on the touch settings.

What my problem is the following:

I have a tablet with a detachable physical keyboard.

When I do not have the physical keyboard are connected and that I select a text input field, the virtual keyboard appears. OK, that's normal.

However, when I select an input field with my hands I have no physical keyboard attached, the virtual keyboard displays always upward.

How to disable the keyboard to appear when I joined my physical keyboard already?

EDIT: I found this http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_cp-performance/turn-off-touch-keyboard-windows-8/80cd2fd5-2ef0-40d5-866b-851b9bf95a3e which allows me to disable the touchpad, but is there a simple way to reactivate it with say a shortcut or an order?

Edit2: Nevermind that link did not help, my touchpad is back. It's really frustrating.

Edit3: So bad, I had to disable the service found. Now, put something to solve the service when I disconnect my keyboard.

  • V3 772G - you can disable the touchpad?

I think about the order of this machine from NewEgg. This is 1099 now. I write code for a living, and usually use a mouse. I would like to be able to disable the touchpad. I know that some keyboards allow this. All photos I have seen that I have not been able to find out if there is a keyboard shortcut to do this on the V3 series G 772. I saw the posts here that other keyboards has this option but nothing I could find specific to this series of laptops. I know that they have no backlight and also don't sport the caps-lock/num-lock lights. I can live with that, but the touchpad function is little need for me about 70% of my use.

Thank you for any information you can give.

Yes, you can disable the touchpad. Fn + F7 keys disable it. But you should be aware that the device you want to buy has a few hardware problems. Currently, there is no solution to prevent flickering display, if the brightness level is lower than 70-100%. There are other issues, mainly stability. You should read this forum before buying.

How to disable the touchpad when using the mouse?

    Hello

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

Most laptops have a function key (FN) which can be used in combination with other keys for example FN + F2 or FN + F7 to disable or enable the touchpad.

You can also disable the touchpad in Device Manager.

To disable the touchpad in Device Manager, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start.
    2. In the start search box type devmgmt.msc, and then on enter.
    3. In Device Manager, expand mice and other pointing devices and locate the touchpad.
    4. Right click on the touchpad and click on the disable option.

Following the steps above should help you disable the touchpad.

    Hello

You do not need to disable the touchpad in Device Manager.
Either you use the combination of keys FN Fn + F9 to turn off the touchpad or you will do this in Control Panel.

You can find the option in the control panel-> mouse-> last tab (device settings)
It you should check the options such as properties or settings I'm not quite sure how it would be called in your case m

  • Qosmio F50 - 10 M: how to disable the touchpad?

    Hello guys,.

usually, I use a led USB mouse to use Win7. When writing text, I often get in contact with the touchpad of the unwanted.

Like I can't identify the device in the hardware Manager, I'm not able to disable the touchpad when using the mouse.
There are a lot of HID (Human Interface Devices) without a unique identifier.

How can I disable the touchpad or is there a way to disable automatically by plugging the USB mouse?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Yours,
    Starmind

Automatically disabling is not known to me, but you can disable the touchpad by using the FN + F9 key combination.
You can use the FN feature?

  • How to disable the touchpad in windows 8 - Pavilion g6

How to disable the touchpad in windows 8 - Pavilion g6

    Welcome to the forum, Sally.

There are several ways to do this - method you choose may depend on what you need to accomplish.

    Follow a few ideas.

    • A double tap farm in the upper left corner of the touch pad if it off for a single session.

    Enable / disable

Control Panel > display icon > mouse > Settings of TouchPad > click on "enable TouchPad.

They continue parameters to install and configure the TouchPad as you like it...

    ==========================================================================

A method that works with the pilots 'old', it is a failure of session by session...

Make sure this setting is ON / CHECKED:

Control Panel > display icon > mice > TouchPad [ClickPad] settings >

() repeat) TouchPad settings (button) > click tapping >

    Click the shimmering blue wheel

In "box to Disable TouchPad settings".

CHECK "Double Tap to activate / disable the TouchPad.

In the 'Action in the upper left'

CHECK "Disable the TouchPad during a session.

    Close

    Ok

NOTE that, if it is available on your version, you can select to "turn off the TouchPad" - that's fine, unless something goes wrong.  You could get stuck without your USB mouse AND no way to return to the setting to activate the touchpad.  I don't know if I would use this setting.

    ======================================================================================

    Next...
Latest drivers (V16.x) have the ability to disable the TouchPad / click on the keypad with a setting on the main page 'Settings' when a USB mouse is used.  This is a very nice feature.

Control Panel > display icon > mice > TouchPad [ClickPad] settings >

CHECK "disable the pointing device internal when the external USB pointing device is attached.

If you want to be alerted and see a visual cue of disability >

TICK "Animated icon in the taskbar" >

and make sure you have your updated task bar notifications so you can see the view of the mouse.

    =====================================================

    I hope this helps!

I have to grin read your post because I always surprised questions and users who want m did something very complicated.

All cell phones are supported on FN + F9 key combination that turns the touchpad on and off.
The use of this key combination takes about 1 sec, maybe 1.5 sec ;)

So why he s so annoying by using the FN + F9 key

  • No way to disable the touchpad on Satellite L450D - 11 X

I had my laptop Satellite L450D - 11 X, pre-installed with Windows 7 64-bit, since November and that you come to learn about the function key to turn off the touchpad - a very desirable feature. Unfortunately, pressing the combination of keys Fn + F9 does not work. There is a question answered - now closed - in this forum that advises to restore the laptop to its original configuration to address this problem, which I guess means running a HARD drive recovery procedure and restore the application software - not a trivial task. I took a chance and downloaded and installed the driver for the TouchPad Synaptics Windows 7 x 64. He has a facility to disable the touchpad in the mouse properties window, that works.

I became aware of the ability to disable the touchpad keys during the installation of new Acer laptop from a friend, who has a button next to the touchpad to market. Come the day where all laptop has such a change a lot of laptop users will be happy, judging by the number of people, I fell on the web looking for a way to disable the touchpad keys, especially when entering.

I would prefer if the L450D key combination worked, however. Does anyone know how to do this without a HARD drive recovery? Some of my other function keys are also "broken." Not vital, but I don't hate things that don't work as specified.

What you need to do is to reinstall the package of added value. You can find it on the download page of Toshiba. This package contains several tools and one of them is utility (command buttons FN) flash cards. Remove VAP preinstalled system, restart your computer and install the latest version of the Toshiba support page.

To say, this little button is also available on some models of Toshiba. If I remember well, it must be available on A500 and U500. Maybe also on some other new models of laptops.
