    Hey there,

I'm sorry that you trouble with that. You can disable the synchronization of Typekit fonts option in the application of CC, under preferences > creative cloud > fonts (Typekit 'power'):

I hope this helps; Let me know if you have any other questions, here or at [email protected]. Best,

  • How can I disable Typekit?

Since arriving at CC versions of the Adobe Suite, we will find them VERY slow to load, and TypeKit is (to put it politely) boring.

We can manage all fonts in Suitcase Fusion and need not TypeKit sort, shape, it interferes with the merger and slows down applications CC massively.

So how us stop, disable or remove the CC suite TypeKit so that it does not interfere with the merger and does not check whenever we open a program?

  • Turn off the prompt of typekit?

Any way to turn off the prompt of typekit? I am referring to the dialog box that appears when you open a doc in illustrator or indesign. 1 out of every 5 times it freezes. It won't allow me to click on 'Close' or 'find the fonts' and the only way out is to force shut down the whole program. If I forgot to save a document in another tab - I lose my job.

I keep thinking that I could get an update that resolves this problem. I can't be alone in that happening.

Very frustrating. I already use another font management program, do not need typekit. Certainly not need it if the dialog box is going to freeze. I own fonts from other foundries then use typekit isn't an option.

    Thank you for all wisdom.

Thank you, Benjamin. But the correct answer is "No you can't disable Typekit even if you want."

Sorry, don't want to be rude and I thank you for your answer, but you are raising a separate question. It is not a matter of having the fonts to disable. The question is: the dialogue of typekit appears is completely insensitive (in Illustrator and Indesign.) I can't close it, or click on one of the buttons when it pops up.

What I would do is have typekit stop appearing altogether. It is a new software and doesn't work well. It is ruining my workflow with my workhorse programs. I would recommend people do not improve on this basis only.

  • Typekit and font management: still a bit confused

I'm still a bit confused as to how the new TypeKit creative cloud and how it will or will not affect our workflow.

    1. We currently use Extensis Universal Type Server (UTS). We have a member of the creative team Cloud license. TypeKit itself intervene before the fonts are loaded from UTS?
    2. If the fonts are downloaded to the TypeKit Office should I copy them on the UTS? Should my users mix and match of acquired with UTS and TypeKit fonts or maintain status with UTS? You can disable TypeKit if this is the case? How can resolve us conflicts with fonts if UTS and TypeKit run?
    3. Do we need to buy policies now that with TypeKit, the claim is that all Adobe fonts are free with membership CC? How does this interact with UTS?
    4. Adobe still sells fonts if TypeKit as part of the subscription of the CC means the complete catalogue is free?
    5. How the police license issues with TypeKit? In the past, the licensing of fonts has been a major concern in the edition and still very confused on the use and purchase.

I tried to get a good understanding of the use and rights of fonts throughout my career and with TypeKit, it puts a lot of my recent recognitions in perplexity.

Thank you for all the answers to my questions.

I received an email response from and Adobe Rep:

Let me see if I can clear things here:

    > 1. We currently use Extensis Universal Type Server (UTS). We have a member of the creative team Cloud license. TypeKit itself intervene before the fonts are loaded from UTS?

A: Unfortunately, I don't have the details here. However, Extensis has announced Typekit can work along the coast UTS: http://blog.extensis.com/font-management/universal-type-server-now-supports-use-typekit-de sktop - fonts.php

Typekit does not install the fonts in the same way that you install a perpetual license. I hope that this article helps to clarify specific issues.

    > 2. If the fonts are downloaded to the TypeKit Office should I copy them on the UTS? Should my users mix and match fonts with UTS andTypeKit or maintain status with UTS? You can disable TypeKit if this is the case? How can resolve us conflicts with fonts if UTS and TypeKit run?

A: UTS and Typekit should be able to work at the same time. However, you will not be able to add Typekit fonts to UTS. Each CC Team user to synchronize policies Typekit that they wish to use.

    > 3. Do we need to buy policies now that with TypeKit, the claim is that all Adobe fonts are free with membership CC? How does this interact with UTS?

A: If the police you need lies in Typekit and you have a portfolio (through the creative teams of cloud or other) Plan you have access to this policy. So, you can synchronize to Typekit and use it in desktop applications. If a font is not available on Typekit, you will need to purchase a perpetual license for the team and add to UTS you have with other fonts.

    > 4. Adobe still sells fonts if TypeKit as part of the subscription of the CC means the complete catalogue is free?

A: Currently, you can always buy perpetual licenses to Adobe owned fonts as well as some other fonts that they resell. However, the software Adobe fonts and many other commercial fonts are available with a subscription to Typekit. Access to Typekit isn't really free. You pay for it when you pay for creative cloud. It's just that Typekit doesn't cost you anything more because it is included.

    > 5. How the police license issues with TypeKit? In the past, the licensing of fonts has been a major concern in the edition and still very confused on the use and purchase.

A: This article is a good starting point: http://help.typekit.com/customer/portal/articles/1341590-typekit-font-licensing

If you have specific questions about licensing or use cases, feel free to ask. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • CC2015 River meet after opening

My turn to ask a question

Recently, when I first open Photoshop CC2015, I am unable to use it for a minute.  Then he snaps suddenly back to life.

I thought it was to do with the libraries, in which I have several advantages.  They are stored on the drive is maybe slow to wake up kind of thing, but if I choose to edit an asset, its location proves to be App data\Local\Temp which is an SSD.  I closed libraries anyway and rebooted.  No difference.

I put preferences > sync settings for Nothing

    No change

    Disabled GPU acceleration

    No change

So I went for the Application Manager.  Synchronize file was already off, so I also disabled TypeKit. (I only use Windows and TypeKit fonts)

    No change.

I have reset the preferences, which opened in the workspace Essentials.

Always numb for about a minute.

I opened with the SHIFT key to disable third-party plugins.

    Still no change.

I see now what to try next.  The computer has been restarted several times.

I still think it is linked to libraries because the Panel is uninhabited when you start Photoshop, and assets appear at the precise moment Photoshop becomes sensitive.  Amy I miss a synchronization setting somewhere?

Windows 7 and decent Internet (35mbs down) and 6mbs upward

You switch to the settings panel, and restart Photoshop? Probably won't make any difference, but might help to identify if she doesn't.

Edit: Here are some links that you can check, if you have not already...

Photoshop CC 2014 crashes at launch for a few minutes before becoming sensitive.

CC of Photoshop crashes for several minutes on file/open on MacOS

  • Used to synchronize the Typekit fonts

    Hello

    4. Uninstall all Adobe products, and then install app CC only

    Hi Ben,

I managed to solve this problem, and you won't believe what it was.  I had to re - activate the Windows Firewall, as I had disabled in Windows Services.  You would think that the opposite would fix it, but in any case, hope this helps someone else who has the problem.

    Thank you!

  • Typekit, Firefox

    www.Typographica.co.za (the two subpages)

Works fine if I test locally, but will not load the correct fonts (Serifa, Museo San) when online. Exported with lots of characters defined in the properties of the site, the editing disabled in the browser. Safari and good Chrome, Firefox not.

    Hi Bernard,.

If the problem only occurs in Firefox, try these troubleshooting steps to start:

Also check the browser extensions, such as Ghostery, who can block the Typekit fonts.

If please give that a try and let me know how it goes! Best,

  • Muse ligatures can be disabled?

Trying to find where ligatures can be disabled, does not seem easy to find. Where is this?

    Hello

The short answer is that Muse does not provide a direct way to disable ligatures. The long answer:

    • For web fonts (Typekit or edge Web Fonts), ligatures standard/common, if included in the police, cannot be disabled in Safari at all. See help Adobe Typekit: syntax for OpenType features in CSS. But you can exclude ligatures of the police themselves by choosing the option 'default subset' Web Font, the character set for the Page/Site Properties dialog box. But note that choose the default subset also affects supported language, is not a good choice if you need to support languages other than those of ISO / IEC 8859-1 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    • For system fonts (that export as images), it's not a way to exclude standard/common ligatures.

  • Typekit not synchronized with InDesign/creation cloud

I seem to be having problems with Typekit synchronization with my CC apps. The CC app does not show that I have all the fonts synchronized, and none of my apps present CC fonts that should be synchronization. But on Typekit all my fonts are there, and he said: they are synchronized.

I tried to disable the synchronization, CC to quit smoking and then re-opening, but it has no sync when I turned on Typekit return.

  • Typekit Fonts are not sync or activation

My Typekit fonts do NOT work. My laptop has no problem, but on my iMac is not what works so that never.

    I already have the following...

1 disconnect off Creative Cloud App, reboot the computer, new journal-ing (done several times)

    2. security settings etc. are are correct (firewall is disabled, app downloaded for Anywhere is turned on)

    3. close all adobe programs, restart the computer, re - open all programs and the CC App.

I also run Suitcase Fusion, I quit and restart the computer. Open programs in different orders and still no luck.

I run all programs and settings same as on my MacBook, even internet connection as well and nothing is working to get the fonts to synchronize.

Out of the blue, they do not work and were yesterday.

Help please! I lost so much time that should make money today to solve this problem!

Police office synchronization works again. All the fonts you have selected in your Typekit account should begin automatic synchronization.

You can also disable synchronization of the police in the application of creative cloud under the gear icon in the preferences > creative cloud > fonts (Typekit "power"), then turn again to start a new synchronization session.

If please give that a try and tell me if you see other problems with synchronization of policies (here or at [email protected]).  Thank you
