Typekit, Firefox

www.Typographica.co.za (the two subpages)

Works fine if I test locally, but will not load the correct fonts (Serifa, Museo San) when online. Exported with lots of characters defined in the properties of the site, the editing disabled in the browser. Safari and good Chrome, Firefox not.

Hi Bernard,.

If the problem only occurs in Firefox, try these troubleshooting steps to start:

Troubleshooting fonts Typekit add to a Web site

Also check the browser extensions, such as Ghostery, who can block the Typekit fonts.

If please give that a try and let me know how it goes! Best,

  • TypeKit questions: arrested fonts rendering in IE 9 and Firefox, etc

    Hello

    A few days ago, we have created an edge animation that uses a Typekit, put police in animation on a web page built with Muse and downloaded that creative cloud site.  Everything worked perfectly on IE, Firefox and Chrome (although the rendering of Chrome all fonts on this site is a little blurry compared to IE and Firefox.)

    Then, yesterday, we noticed that the fonts Typekit has not been made in Firefox; and we noticed that, today, it is renderingin IE.  (Always, displays a little blurry, on Chrome).

    Is this a known issue? Any tips?

    Also: typekit never made the Opera browser fonts (when viewing the hosted site, or when you use overview at the controls of the browser side animate or Muse).

    Also the site has never worked in Safari for Windows

    Thank you

  • 21 Firefox apply kerning weird Typekit DIN fonts

    Recently noticed with 21 FF there are a few problems tracking weird happening with one of my fonts Typekit on a production site. Nothing has changed with the code base / the implementation of police web on my site, but 21 FF seems to do weird things to the police.

    The affected font is DIN Condensed Web of Typekit.

    It renders correctly in all other browsers I have tested on my Mac (Opera, Chrome, Safari, etc.).

    Any ideas what could be causing this?

    Issue appeared to have been related to Typekit. We contacted their support to report the issue... and then I also re-published my Kit. The police that seems to work correctly again. Not sure if this has been fixed thanks to TypeKit support personnel action, or simply the reissue of the kit.

  • Typekit does not publish fonts

    Hi I have a weird problem.

    I use a Typekit (Serifa) fonts in a Web site and in the publication, all the text is fine, except the menu bar! It seems Muse "forgets" to this part or the (Masterpage) page to publish.

    And it is a new problem. Here are the files I'm trying out some time. I have this problem with another file, as text on a master page.

    Anyone know what to do?

    Thanks a bunch!

  • Why don't samples of fonts displayed in search of Typekit?

    When I search the Typekit library on line, most of the fonts that appear do not show real typography samples. I inserted a screenshot, below, shows an example. On this, Signo resembles real typography, but the following samples - Museo without and JAF Bernino - do not appear in the fonts (they seem to be the wheelbase by default, when I was looking precisely without serif).

    Furthermore, I don't see a specific forum for Typekit, so I am posting this on the creative forum Cloud. I another Typekit questions, but I would like to start thinking here.

    Thank you.

    Please wait while we were working on this issue. We fixed fonts used on typekit.com on OS X 10.7.  Most fonts and styles are now display correctly on our Web site. A few files from dozens of fonts are always cached on the font server and go to the cache expiration in the next 24 to 48 hours.  Typekit.com will be completely updated at the end of the week.

    We are not able to support the Typekit site in Safari 5 longer, as the JavaScript kit uses features for the dynamic creation of a subset that are not available in this version of browser. Typekit.com works on OS X 10.7 in new versions of Chrome, Firefox and Opera.

    Please let us know by e-mail at [email protected] if you have any other questions and thank you for your patience while we resolve this problem! Best,

  • How to make typekit fonts appear in temp site BC

    I'm working on a site and added one of the fonts of a kit that I created in Typekit using Dreamweaver. The local site is linked to a temporary site in Business Catalyst. I applied the new font to a part of the text, and I can see it in the local. But when I preview, either directly in British Colombia or Safari and Chrome (I understand DW overview use webkit now anyway) or Firefox / Opera, the new police force makes any. I made sure that I added the JavaScript from the Embed Code as suggested by the Typekit and ensured that my kit in Typekit has localhost and the temporary BC site set up. I also clicked on publish after updating my kit and waited a while before trying the preview. I still can't get it to work. Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the screenshots, Alonso. Typekit fonts load into the page correctly; You can see that the events of fonts are defined "active" in your third screenshot.

    The CSS is currently using the font family name "Grafolita Script support", for example

    section. Hero h1 {}

    font-size: 325%;

    margin-bottom:-10px;

    make-weight: normal;

    line-height: 1em;

    do-family: 'Grafolita Script support;

    }

    There are two updates that you need to make to the police is displayed correctly:

    (1) adds the average weight of the Grafolita Script to your kit.  Now you have the regular weight & "BOLD" included, but no way.

    (2) the family name provided by Typekit is "grafolita-script", with a hyphen.  For later use, you can check the last name of Typekit in the Editor Kit by clicking on the link "Fonts in CSS using" selectors. TYPEKIT | Working with CSS selectors

    The font weight is defined in a rule separate police-weight; the average weight of the Grafolita Script is 600:

    TYPEKIT | With the help of several weights and styles

    If you add 'grafolita-script' to the pile of police everywhere you use the 'Grafolita' Script, the police will load correctly:

    section. Hero h1 {}

    font-size: 325%;

    margin-bottom:-10px;

    make-weight: normal;

    line-height: 1em;

    Police-family: grafolita script, 'Grafolita Script support;

    Police-weight: 600;

    }

    I made the change to the font family name using the tools of web development in Chrome, so you can see that the Grafolita Script is applied to the text.  If please give that a try and let me know if you have any other questions!  Best,

  • Problems with Adobe Typekit

    Hello

    I try to get the Typekit fonts to work in browsers and I am having difficulties. I am using Trajan Pro 3 on a site and fonts are not rendered correctly in Chrome and Firefox on PC. The reason why I use Typekit is to solve this problem without the help of Google.

    So far, I'm not impressed by the Editor interface Typekit or methodology, but this side, it doesn't seem to work. The site in question is here:

    http://adeptdigital-LLC.com/Haynes/

    This is a sample site that I want to live in a few days and I can not get the police to render properly in Chrome and FF on the PC, but it seems to work everywhere else.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    Brett

    Hello Brett,

    > Thank you for your efforts, but you look at the page using the Mac from Chrome version. The fonts have no problem rendering on the Mac. You must use a PC to test this for PC users.

    I apologise for not go deeper in my response: this was intended to demonstrate that the font files work correctly. Here is the screen shot of Chrome on Windows 7, for your comparison:

    (Again, with the text size has increased to show it's Trajan Pro 3.)

    If the police don't always care for you, it would be useful that you would provide a page that uses Trajan Pro 3 by default so that the team of Typekit can more easily debug the display problem.

    Unrelated to loading problems, you will probably see artifacts of rendering in Trajan Pro 3 to 14px.  Typekit is used for Trajan Pro with described PostScript 3 smooth rendered large sizes on Windows, as explained in this blog post:

    http://blog.Typekit.com/2012/03/21/inscriptional-faces-from-Adobe-Type/

    Although many designers use Trajan at smaller sizes, it is not designed to be used in this way. If you look at the samples of browser for Trajan Pro 3, the problems of rendering in the windows below about 30px there: https://typekit.com/fonts/trajan-pro-3#browser-samples

    You can try something like Minion instead. See the example (with code) in that same blog.

    Or, if Minion Pro is not to your liking, there similar serifs in the library that are recommended for use of paragraph:

    https://Typekit.com/fonts?classification=serif&contrast=regular&recommended-for=paragraphs & weight = regular & width = normal

    These fonts that have been hand-picked by Typekit staff for their technical and aesthetic excellence and they make it perfectly in all browsers and devices, including Windows.

    I hope this helps; Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • WebFonts and Typekit fonts will not correctly work in Windows7 Chrome

    I tried almost all the browsers for Windows 7 and Chrome is always the black sheep for me (surprisingly not IE). Many fonts typekit and webfonts look perfect in Muse, Muse Preview, IE and Firefox.

    But when I open the Chrome, the horror begins.

    I use this cool site Dani of Muse jams posted for this demonstration (site is not me): http://www.pmorenofotografo.com/

    Google Chrome:

    chrome.jpg

    Notice how the menu looks like all the "pixelated".

    And it's the same site in Firefox:

    firefox.jpg

    The menu seems perfect.

    This problem is making me spend more time choosing the right font for my sites, I'm sure everybody wants their site to look perfect on all browsers out there.

    I used another site to prove that the issue was not my Web sites. Furthermore, none of my sites have this question cause I have spend hours to find fonts that do not resemble this on Chrome.

    Hi Seruhio,

    What you see here is in fact a difference in how Chrome and rendering of fonts. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about it. Chrome font rendering is, for some fonts, not very good, and the only way to really know is to check the appearance of your fonts in the browser. If you are interested, Typekit team made a very long series of blog posts on the difference in rendering of fonts for the web, including recommendations for policies that make it well. Positions are at this point a few years old, but they are still very useful in learning about differences.

    After upgrading to "Sierra" (on late 2009 iMac) Google Spreadsheets seems to no longer work correctly - in Firefox: when I select a cell or attempt a transaction there are lo... delays NGOs - and I am informed that "script" is causing havoc!

    (Worksheets appear to work OK in Safari).

    Here's what happens: when I select a cell, I see the symbol of "Beach Ball". Shortly after, a (EU) dialog box appears - informing them that "a script is not responding" (or something similar - I use in Danish on the Mac).

    The remedies proposed are: "Debug", "Stop Script" or "continue".

    "Debug" presents the script (or part of it), but it is of no practical use. (Who knows how to fix an unknown script in a meaningful way?).

    "Stop Script" causes the 'Ball box' /Dialog (EU) of beach to reappear again and again.

    "Continuous" seems to remove the problem for the rest og the session - but the next time I open spread sheets I need to select 'Continue' once again!

    I'm going on Safari, file / import of... / Firefox

    Select bookmarks, and then click OK

    However, no imported Favorites appear in Safari.

    If I, instead, export as HTML in Firefox, I can import that uses the file / import of... / bookmarks HTML file.

    What I don't want is the 2nd option, because she simply creates a folder of bookmarks in Safari instead of map to good equivalents of Safari (toolbar, etc.)

    How can I go on Safari to recognize Firefox bookmarks in native mode?

    If the problem is still there, try to boot mode safe using your usual account to see if you can import.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.
