Disabled superspeed USB3.0

Product name: HP Pavilion 15 laptop

Product number: E2U06EA #ABU

I am unable to get one of the two USB3.0 ports for superspeed USB3.0 mode. Device Manager lists the controller xHCI ok with no obvious problems.  Check the regulator with USBVIEW Microsoft tool that it shows the controller as with 4 ports, ports 1 and 2 are identified as able superspeed and ports 3 and 4 are not. Connect a USB3.0 device in the laptop they appear on port 3 or 4 causes

as you can see from the screenshot above do not support ports 3 and 4 USB3.0, how can I get the correct active?

problem solved...

I uninstalled the USB AMD (instructions at http://www.smartdongle.com/remove-amd-usb-filter-driver-ati-catalyst-install-manager/ ) filter driver, rebooted and now everything seems to work properly and now plug in a device is connected to port 1 or 2 at the rate superspeed.

Hope this helps someone else with similar problems on windows 8.1

  • X 220 about USB 3.0 speed

Recently, I've transferred a large amount of files from a capable laptop HDD USB3.0 and superspeed USB3.0 cable. When it is plugged into the USB3.0 slot on my laptop, the transfer rate was showed that only 48 MB/s instead of the theoretical 5 Gbps. I tried to plug into the slot 2.0 on my laptop, and showed the transfer rate 36 MB/s. No idea what could be the problem here?

Well firstly it is 5 Gb/s, which is around 640 MB/s. Second speed of USB3.0 external hard drive is limited as a result of factors: the actual speed of 1) drive HARD, 2) USB 3.0 speed controller SATA bridge, speed host controller USB 3) 3.0, 4) USB 3.0 cable speed, 5) you the mode of file transfer speed.
Referring to my experience, with a combination optimum X 220 can reach a maximum file transfer speed of 56 MB/s. There is usually a typical 48 MB/s.
The main reason why speed is not as high as better theoretical due to article 2, the USB 3.0 to SATA bridge controller speed. Since its native speed of your HARD drive usually not faster than 70 MB/s, the bridge controller would take a 20% penalty to translate between the two interfaces.
In other words, your case is all good.

    Steve-

You would need to buy an expansion PCI Express (PCIe x 1) card,
who will be its SuperSpeed USB 3.0 at the back of the computer ports.

There are several to choose from, the most popular-2 and 4-ports.

Cables and USB 3.0 devices can interfere with devices operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM band wireless. This can cause a drop in flow or a complete loss of response with Bluetooth and Wi - Fi devices.
Various strategies can be applied to solve the problem, ranging from simple solutions like increasing the distance of USB 3.0 of Wi - Fi and Bluetooth routers peripheral devices, to the application of shielding around the additional internal computer components.

  • Problems with Dell USB - C (DA200) to the HDMI, VGA, RJ45, USB3 adapter

    Hi all

    I guess I'm a little desperate at 01:45 haha...

I just got my XPS 13 9350 and it's great. I bought the USB - C DA200 adpater USB3, RJ45, VGA, HDMI. Unfortunately, I have some difficulty with the device. They are listed below:

    (1) plug, computer does not recognize the device. If I right click and uninstall in Device Manager and do a scan 'new material', it works again - but not for long.

    (2) the device and the Realtek gigabit portion to connect and reconnect every second in Device Manager and it's annoying.

    (3) disabling the wireless card/connection really seems to help the unit to connect and it works 100%. ONLY when the wireless adapter is disconnected.

Basically, windows is to have a real time hard keep this adapter plugged... almost as if he can't recognize it. I tried to install the drivers for the card - nothing. I've updated all the firmware from Dell crush (including the chipset) and the BIOS... nothing. Same thing. If you do a search on google, there are a few discussions on this problem. There is a nice size on Reddit.

Someone has an idea, what happens? It's a real shame that a beautifully designed and expensive adapter does not work with a Dell computer.

    Thank you, AJ

In another thread ("XPS 13 9350 - SSD USB C 3.1 - very unstable/not usable '-I can not add links), the following fixed my XPS 13 9550 problem using a drive HARD USB 3.0 with the Dell USB - C for HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB3.1 adapter:

... the adapter USB - C and WiFi are kind of material and power wise. If you go to the options of the advance of the WiFi adapter and change the WiFi output at 75%, this solves a lot of problems with the connection / disconnection of USB - C questions. Exit at 75% reduction does not affect your connection on wireless networks.

My HARD drive kept connect/disconnect when you use the adapter, but this correction took care of her.

  • Readers of latitude E7440 and hard USB3

Hello. I searched around an answer to this question, but nothing helped. I have one of the new Ultrabooks from Dell; (Latitude E7440) and cannot get my drive hard Portal USB3 to work with USB3 ports. I also have a new Dell E-Port Replicator (dock) with USB3 ports.

    Example of the question:

    • USB3 HARD disk plugged into one of the laptops USB3 ports - powers of the HDD upwards, but Windows does not detect the drive is plugged in hard.
    • USB3 HARD disk plugged into one of the ports USB3 - same symptoms docks.
    • USB3 HARD disk plugged into one of the ports, docks USB2 - HDD works fine but Windows reports that he could run faster (IE speed USB3)
    • USB3 Flash drive plugged into any port USB3 - works fine.
    • All USB2 devices work in all USB ports on the computer laptop and E-Port Replicator.

    Performed troubleshooting:

    • Reinstalled drivers USB3 Hub on the site of Dell
    • Tested my HARD drive on another PC (not Dell) works very well on the USB3 ports.

Any ideas? I have googled and find people with similar problems, but no final solution.

    Hi ELPAICO,

You are not sure if you have already found an answer to this? I recently had the same laptop and I must say there is some "energy saving" options which are a pain - for example the way Windows disables Mobile broadband...

On the question of the USB - I had the same problem, what I have found to solve the problem:

-Of your Options of selective feeding-> settings-> USB USB suspend-> disable all the

-Use the USB port on the right side back of the laptop, when you are facing it (dunno why this works well)

In the Yosemite sometimes I noticed that a USB port consumed too much energy and have been disabled. (I think because the usb port has been short-circuited.
