  Sorry to know that you are facing this problem.

  Data Execution Prevention, a security feature can help prevent damage to your computer from viruses and other security threats. Harmful programs that try to attack Windows by attempting to run code from memory locations reserved for Windows and other authorized programs, system are stopped. These types of attacks can affect your programs and files. DEP can help protect your computer by analyzing your programs to make sure that they use the system safely memory. If DEP notices a program on your computer using memory incorrectly, it closes the program and notifies you. It is thus an element of security.

  Although it is not recommended, you can have your reasons for wanting to disable the prevention of execution of data on your Windows computer.

  Open a high via the Windows + X menu command prompt window.

  Then, copy - paste the following and press ENTER:

  bcdedit.exe/set {current} nx AlwaysOff

  

  If you use Windows 8 or a boot UEFI instead of the BIOS, you must disable Secure Boot until it works.

  To disable Secure Boot feature consult the computer manual or contact the manufacturer of your computer.

  Warning of the BIOS:

  BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  The problem might actually be an add-on or another program to the origin of the problem and you should check that
  1st.

  What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER on it
  machines, including those that you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

  Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

  IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

  IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security - reset all Zones by default level - apply / OK

  IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install

• Need help troubleshooting a Data Execution Prevention (DEP) related to Acrobat and scan edition.

  Windows XP SP3, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.2, TWAIN driver

  I'm trying to find an answer to help someone else troubleshoot.

  Thus, the user could be used successfully before, scan-to-function PDF Acrobat but now receives a DEP notice that says "To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program" and lists of Acrobat. Features of Acrobat with a DEP notice normally except when trying to analyze.

  There has been no change other than an update to Acrobat (from 9.1.3 to 9.2 http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/500/cpsid_50026.html) and standard Windows updates known system. Checked all user XP updates been made, did a repair on the installation of Acrobat and checked that he was using the scanner the most recent driver.

  The user disable DEP and everything works well. This fixes the problem, but open the computer to a potential attack.

  Any suggestions on what to try? This could be a problem with the TWAIN driver? is their any way to check?

  OK, I think I found the problem, which seems to be with my browser is Mozilla Firefox. When I open a different browser (I tried Google Chrome), I have not had any problems with this DEP error and Flash behaved normally. I have not had time to try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox again but that's where the problem arises. Worst case, I'll change my browser, problem sorted!

  In XP, disable DEP with thses as follows:

  1. click on Start
  2. Select Control Panel
  3. Select System
  4. click on the Advanced tab
  5. in the area of Performance , select settings
  6. click on the tab data run in the dialog box that opens
  7. Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select
  8. click on Add.
  9. the open dialog box opens. Find and select your application.
  10. click on Open
  11. click on apply
  12. click OK
  13 reset

  To disable DEP in Vista:

  1. click on Start
  2. click on all programs
  3. click on Accessories
  4. right click on command prompt
  5. make a left click on run as administrator
  6. click on the button allow if application you for leave
  7. type or copy and paste this into the command prompt window:

  bcdedit.exe/set {current} nx AlwaysOff

  8 valve enter and you should see the confirmation: Operation completed successfully
  9. reboot and DEP should be turned off.

First of all, whenever I want to get on IE, it tells me to close because of the DEP (Data Execution Prevention), I changed the settings and still acts flighty. My other is I download some games and now that they will not play. When I run it, I get an error message indicating that this program has stopped working... Y ' All can give me a helping hand. Thanks in advance for your time. Oh by the way, I tried to change the DEP setting and still does not, I did a scan under cmd and all was well there. Regarding the game below, I tried to do as some have suggested, but nothing has worked. I even restored my system, and the problem always consist. The only thing I can think is that we removed something to play these games. Help please.

  Now, IE runs in protected mode and with DEP active. This is done to reduce the surface of fixing for malware and increase the security of the system. You can turn off DEP for IE.

  To do this

  1. open Internet Explorer, click on tools > Internet Options.

  2. click on the Advanced tab.

  3. to turn on DEP, check the box to the bottom of the list that says enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks.

  Note: Do this test at your own risk that disabling DEP can be harmful to your security system.

• Adobe Reader hangs with DEP when using Vista

  According to me, surely someone has found a solution for this now.  Whenever I try to print a PDF file using Adobe or Nitro, the program bombs with the DEP error. The most frustrating thing is that: when I try to disable DEP control (using installation feeding by Vista) - it says that I CAN ' T turn off DEP looking for this software!  Looking at other threads, I feel that this problem be Acrobat with Vista itself. BTW, I already reinstalled the printer (a Canon LBP3200) AND Adobe Reader X.  Is there a solution out there?

  It seems now, Nvidia recognizes the problem and said that the only solution is to go back to an earlier version of their driver.  As has been said before - unacceptable for a certification program.  Hope that Microsoft does not distribute this version in Windows Update!

  If nothing else works you can try this however I would use as a last resort.

  IE - Tools - Options - Advanced Options - Internet Security Section - clear the check box enable memory
  Protection to mitigate the attacks online - APPLY - OK close and restart IE
