Problem: Bluray discs will not play. CD will play.

History: I did a clean install of Windows 7 and then installed 60 all the drivers from the support site for this laptop model. Or at least those that would install. Interestingly, the driver of Toshiba Bluray would not install. the installation process stated "player not found on your system" or something like that.

What works the device currently is a 2006 (?) Microsoft driver.

Clues? It's the second Toshiba laptop, I had to (second-hand), and they both had this problem: DVD players do not play DVD right from the start. Very annoying.

    Update:

The "Bluray driver" mentioned above is just the own DVD from Toshiba software. It is not a driver. And it does not find the optical drive Bluray on my laptop!

    - The Bluray optical drive will play DVDs, but not of Bluray discs. I'll borrow an another DVD Bluray at the local library, to ensure that it is not a disk failure.

-The Wifi does not work ("network controller driver is bad / missing")

    - I probably deleted the hidden partition that contains the Toshiba "system recovery disk". I have re-installed Windows and written too. [You are supposed to press "0" when the power, but it does not show the Toshiba Recovery console. I scoured the hidden with a freeware Windows partition and there is nothing usable here.]

It is a stupid economy, not providing a system restore disk AND do not provide drivers download work. (The drivers offered on the site are simply updated). It makes the laptop value much less long term and creates bad word-of-mouth over time.

The only station I have is to buy a Blu - Ray external drive and perhaps a Wifi dongle. Crazy.

    Hi Authorsz18,

You are able to hear the music in the preview?

Try to adjust the volume of an audio clip in the audio / music. And add music from the disc hard if you added songs to a DVD.
    1. right click on the audio clip > volume
2 adjust the volume with the cursor.

    Hello

Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro do not come with DVD movie playback capability. If you're running Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro you can search for a DVD player application in the Windows store (learn more about the Windows store). If you have Windows Pro 8, you can buy the Pack Windows 8 Media Center which includes the DVD playback.

RT of Windows does not support playback of DVD movies.

If you already have a player and you have problems with a codec, see Codecs: frequently asked questions.

  • Blu - ray disc will not play with Windows 7 installed on the computer hp laptop pavilion g6

Although the non - Blu Ray discs play fine on my HP Pavilion laptop with Windows 7, discs Blu Ray will not be. How a computer model does this work?

    Hi, John:

    It's the hard drive.

You need to go to Device Manager, and then click to expand the category of DC/DVD player.

If the name of the dvd player does not have a BD in the model, it is just a standard dvd player and cannot play blue ray discs.

  • My photos that I burned to a disc will not play on our DVD player.

I downloaded my photos from my camera to my computer using Windows Photo Gallery.  I have used an 52X700MB Memorex CD - R drive and burned pictures of her.  The disc will work on my computer but when I put it in the DVD player attached to our TV to see the pictures, it gives me this message-cannot read this disk.  I made the disc in the neck that worked well, but lately, I'm not having any luck to work.  Can someone help me please?  Thank you, Sheryl

I don't know what you were doing in the past who would work on the normal DVD player.

I know, if you want to burn image files or videos from computer to dvd dics and be able to play in any regular DVD player, you will need to do this with Windows DVD Maker.

    Excerpt:
Windows DVD Maker is an application included in premium editions (Home Premium and Ultimate Windows Vista, and Windows 7 Home Premium) and editions that is designed to allow the creation ofDVD movies that can be played usingDVD reading or on a stand-alone consumerDVD player software.

  • Son of anarchy BD Discs will not play on BDX4400 (black screen)

    Hello world!
Just wondering if anyone can help with the following: I had some problems with the blu - Ray of the BDX4400 player (remote works do not, the reaction is slow, frozen Portal etc.) for awhile, but it was ok with playing DVDs / blu - ray... Up to our days. I come from the Sons of Anarchy box, insert the first disk, and then the screen goes black.

You can hear the disc turning for a few seconds and the play icon appears but then it's all... Just a black screen and you can't even eject the disc (remote not working do not when it is at this point).
I tried other discs of this set, but the same thing happens. However, the other DVD / Blu - Ray work. Therefore, I am sure that the player is fine, but maybe im missing a parameter that must be changed...?
Someone had a similar problem? (I disabled the internet connections and the bd-live function, but not luck)

The region code is correct and FW is up to date, so this may not be the root of the problem, if all fails, I may have to blame the actual discs, but I have trouble believing that 15 discs are damaged...

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, which would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

It is always a stupid situation if everything works perfectly, but not with some discs/disc.
In case your player works well with the other BR disks that the problem must be with the disks you have.

Is there a possibility to test the disks on a few other BDplayer?
You laptop / PC with BD optical drive? Can test you?

To be honest, what is unclear to me that something can be changed (settings) in this case. Either it works or not.

  • The copy-protected discs will not play on E535

Someone at - he had a problem with DVD playback on a Windows 7 with Thinkpad?

My E535 will play non-copie protected DVD that I got in a program of training years very well. But although he will play some movies from my local library without problem, there are some programs that give me an error on Windows Media Player, I need to update my drivers and DVD - RW settings or something to that effect, all pilots are still on day and everything seems to be set correctly in the control panel for the DVD - RW drive.

And sometimes, I get a message "your computer is running low on memory.  Close other programs to continue", or something similar.  Huh? Nothing else is running.

The weird part is that I can play these discs very well in my desktop Dell age of 8 years which is running XP and a much older version of WMP.

FYI, my computer is Windows 7 Home Premium with 4 GB of RAM, 320 GB HD A4300 AMD and AMD graphics card.  Any help will be appreciated.

My E:\ will not work disc will not play

    Hello

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and the
correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

  • HP dv6t 1200 MediaSmart app will not play blu ray dvd. Keeps wanting me to check updates

Continuous just ask application check the updates. If I select Yes or no it displays the disc is ready and just press play to start playing. Disc will not play only.

    Any help

    Hello

If you use HP MediaSmart DVD to read Blu - ray disc, try the following.

HP now provides a version of PowerDVD 10 Cyberlinks which seems to be a better solution.  Download the latest installer for it on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56904.exe

Once the download is complete, open windows control panel, open programs and features, make a right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select uninstall - when this process is complete, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, open your downloads folder and double-click Setup for PowerDVD 10 start the installation.  Once this done, see if your Blu ray now playing the discs OK.

    Kind regards
