Discover the owner of the catalog to make catalog upgrade

Hello

Oracle gives suggests that we need to run RMAN catalog upgrade after installing a hotfix for. How to know which account/schema should be used to update the catalog? Our database has been installed by the contractor, and according to my colleague, they also had difficulties with this problem. I tried to upgrade the system catalog, I got an error of "RMAN-06426: RECOVERY_CATALOG_OWNER role must be granted to the user SYSTEM. Will be that the database works very well if we simply install patches without upgrading the catalog until we could resolve the problem?

Thanks for the help!

This would be better asked in the forum of rman, however...

the UPGRADE CATALOG is from a client of rman linking the newly rivierra/improved ORACLE_HOME, like this:

Catalog RMAN /@.

where is the owner of the catalog, and is the password.

Now, you don't know the owner, and the password?  How to connect your backup scripts to the catalog?

You can do this to discover the owner

-Connect to the server hosting the catalog database

-the sid of the catalog database ORACLE_SID value

-sqlplus / as sysdba

SQL > select distinct master from dba_objects where object_name like '% RC;

  • Find the owner of the item from the catalog

    I can get the item from the catalog but how to find the owner?

    For a paralyzed man, I can use getOwner(), but I'm not find the equivalent for a catalog item.

    Thank you

    Hello

    You can find the owner catalogItem by considering the means below:

    By QueryService:

    client = (new Vcloud_VCloudClientTest()). Customer;

    adminQueryService = customer. GetVcloudAdmin(). GetAdminQueryService();

    Save RecordResult = adminQueryService.QueryRecords <>, QueryResultAdminCatalogItemRecordType > (QueryRecordType.ADMINCATALOGITEM);

    String name = record. GetRecords() [0] .ownerName;

    Of the Code snippet:

    _catalogItem = CatalogItem.GetCatalogItemByReference (_vCloudClientTest.Client, _catalogItemRef);

    ReferenceType reference = _catalogItem.GetEntityReference ();

    VappTemplate _vAppTemplate = VappTemplate.GetVappTemplateByReference (_vCloudClientTest.Client, reference);

    String name = _vAppTemplate.GetOwner () .name;

    Please let me know for any concerns.

  • How can I open disc catalog to view the catalog once the CD in the CD/DVD drive?

    Original title: I have Windows XP. Service Pack III

    1. I received a disk catalog; How to open until you see the catalog once the CD is in the CD Driver?

    2. I decided to get a new rower because mine is old; 11 yeaes HOW to uninstall all my software before as I have donate to charity? I will give them the OEM disk for this computer.

    1. I received a disk catalog; How to open until you see the catalog once the CD is in the CD Driver?

    If nothing happens when you put the CD in the drive, go to my computer and double-click on the icon for your CD drive.  This will open a window of Windows Explorer showing the files on the CD.  If you think that there should be a sort of slide show or any other presentation, look for a file named "Setup" or similar, and then double-click that.  For more help, provide more details on the 'catalog disk,"including she comes from and what you think you're supposed to see this topic.

    2. I decided to get a new Tower since mine has 11 years; HOW to uninstall all my software before as I have donate to charity? I will give them the OEM disk for this computer.

    The answer to this question depends on your answers to the following two questions:

    a. do you care if you make a donation to the computer with no operating system or other software installed?

    If the answer to (a) is 'No', you need to do is:

    • Copy all your documents, photos, music, and other data to another computer or storage medium (e.g., CD, DVD, USB flash drive, external hard drive, "cloud storage", etc.), and then
    • Download Darik Boot and Nuke, create a bootable CD, put it in your CD drive and restart the computer to completely erase the hard drive.  You will need a CD burner (able to write CD CD player), a blank recordable CD and burning software "ISO".  For the latter, I suggest ImgBurn or you can use CDBurnerXP mentioned in the FAQ of DBAN section (both applications are free).

    If the answer to (a) is 'Yes', then

    b. What is the "OEM disc?  Please provide all the information which is printed on the face of the CD.

  • Import the catalog - only images not file folders

    On the road, I make a temporary LR catalog and store the images in subfolders (e.g. particular State Park etc.).  When I get home I want to import images into specific folders in my archive main.  Some of the files already exist, or can I not want to use a different name, I don't want to create additional subfolders.  How can I me LR to only import images to the location I specified?

    LR seems always to import folder encompassing also as new subfolders contained in the location you choose in the importation of the Catalog dialog box.

    When you import pictures from the trip catalog, you do a generic import or a "catalog import"?

    If you perform an import of generic, you may need to copy the directory tree of your images using the Explorer/Finder, and then perform an import 'Add '.

    If the 'import from catalog', you may need to look at the file manages the settings in there.

  • Virtually all of the files are missing after you import the catalog.

    I'm NOT sure that has nothing to do with lightroom, except that yesterday my files were all there, now, they are absent.  It could be a hard disk failure.  Its just strange that it affected only the files that I tried to interfere in my lightroom catalog today.

    Well as out of town, I pulled a few thousand photos and them ingested on a daily basis in a new lightroom catalog that I created on my laptop.  Files imported into a USB external drive.  The laptop is win 10.  It is on the latest version of lightroom, CC.  Yesterday, everything was going well with the catalog, disk, and files.  All were there.  The catalogue and the photos were on the same drive.  The laptop was listed as the letter 'g ':

    Once I went back to the office today, I wanted to import pictures to my largest catalog on my desktop.  I have used this external hard drive for all my new photos in 2016.  On this PC, Win 10, the letter of the external drive is also "X:".  I started lightroom in my big catalogue very well.  I chose to import from a different catalog, accessed my X Catalogue outside in the car and started importing without a copy of the files.  This should leave the files in the same location.  It took a little more time I expected to import this catalog.  When I went to the structure of folders inside lightroom, it seemed that all the files have been imported correctly.  But there was a "?" from the folder.  I assumed that I just needed to do a "find" on the X drive as I thought that my lightroom catalog could have been pointing to the G drive.  Locate, but cannot find the files.  I've used windows explore to browse my files and the folders and files were all missing, with the exception of a folder where I shot some photos with a camera, about 100 photos in all.  Thousands of photos from other cameras were all absent.

    So next time, I ran a scan disk and windows came with a message of repair.  The repair said that it worked successfully.  But I looked in the Explorer, the files were still missing.  I ran a scan disk again and no error found.

    I looked in the trash on the desktop and there is no files on this disc.  If the missing files are still missing.  I had not saved the files yet since they were really vacation photos and have no critical and since I was going to save them after that I spent in review on the workstation.  Some are still on the cards and could be retrieved.  But I formatted my main map at least a couple of times and I'm afraid that most would have been crushed and is more viable, even using the card recovery software.

    Before you begin importing today, I don't check the disk to make sure that all my files were there.  There is no error in windows at startup and I don't mind just to check in Explorer or open the 'new' catalog first.

    1. Could Lightroom have somehow deleted files and can they be retrieved?
    2. Assuming that it was a Windows / hard drive error, can anyone recommend a program attempt to recover files lost like that?  Given that the entire folders, sound also lack if the index of the obtained partially erased disc.  But maybe the files are still there.  Then there is a program to search for them?

    Note that the other files on this drive all seem to be good.  The only missing are import of today.

    It is drive X:, but the files are not there.
    portable version is 2015.6

    Desktop version is 2015.5

    The

    Somehow, the windows removed them.  I use EaseUS data recovery to retrieve them.  He had no problem finding the files.  So I guess we can mark this resolved.

    Thank you.

  • Mobile folder in the catalog of the Archives

    I currently have my main LR catalog on my drive internal mac. I would like to start moving images/files in a catalogue of archive on an external drive. What is the best and the most effective means to do so to ensure that everything is copied correctly.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Jim. That all the senses. So not really limit for LR Catalogues? For example a picture library 500 k do not slow down the processing step?

    That is right. The main thing you want to do is to develop a strategy for organizing your images inside only one catalog. Folders, collections, keywords, these are all the tools for organizing your images. Your images can be distributed on multiple disks. Make sure that you have a backup of your images. And it is better if the backup of the catalog is located on a separate disk your primary hard drive if that's where your catalog.

  • Is to modify the data stored in the catalog

    I just tested how to back up the Lightroom Catalog and why it is important to do so. One of the videos I watched said things like flags, metadata, collections, etc. are all stored in the catalog (I knew) and why it is important to save the catalog in case your car operating system breaks down. But what real data of editing?  I know that Lightroom changes are non-destructive and the original files are still intact, but where the changes that you make are stored? If I increase exposure on the photo, is stored in the catalog, in the raw file itself or somewhere else?

    The entire edition is stored in the catalog. I always save the catalog whenever I leave, unless I was just viewing images and then I hit the "skip" button. This backup is on a separate partition, but compete when I do always a second copy on an external drive.

    If you also have a backup of your original images, preferably mirroring the structure of the LR library, you can easily re - connect the catalog with the files in the case of a system failure.

  • Best way to discover the top N

    Hi all

    Sorry to ask a question on Friday. I've had this issue for some time now, what is the best way to discover the first N?

    For example, how do you know top 10 Web hosts that have the highest use of CPU for a certain period of time.

    One way to do is to create a WCF application that returns topN HostCPUs order to use/period/average. When the interval is small, like the last hour, it works, but if I increase the time range from 1 day, the request will expire after 60 seconds. We have 500 + guests on this FMS. Not only we want to watch the hot servers right now, but also want to watch the hot servers say yesterday, or last month.

    Another way is to use groovy code below, when I use retrieveLatestValue to get the current value, it's fast, but if I replace it with retrieveAggregate and make the time range for the previous 24 hours, it takes a few minutes to run.

    #! HostCPUs # .getTopologyObjects (extinguish) {a, b->

    go = server. DataService.retrieveLatestValue (a 'use'). value?. AVG

    If (goes == null)

    go = 0

    VB = server. DataService.retrieveLatestValue (b, 'use'). value?. AVG

    If (vb is nothing)

    VB = 0

    VA - vb > 0? 0: 1

    } .subList (0, 10)

    Then, of course, these are not very effective. Is there a better way to get this top N list I'm looking for?

    Thank you

    endTime = System.currentTimeMillis ();

  • my photos on an external drive. my catalog is also stored there, (in the case where I have to change computers. where are stored my backups to the catalog? (can't find them!

    as noted, my pix is on an external drive (pc), my catalogs are on the same drive. where are my backups being stored i cant seem to find them. If I open the folder lightroom with the name of the catalog on the outside, all I see is a bunch of files labeled 1,2,3, etc. and has, b, c.

    shouldn't there be a folder labeled bacvkups?

    If you have enabled the option to make catalog backups (you?) then your backups are in any case, indicate when the backup dialog box is displayed when you close Lightroom. If you enable the option to make backups of catalog, then you have not all backups.

    Yoou can use the search function of your operating system to find the files on all hard disks that have a name that ends with. LRCAT to find all possible backups.

    Note: the functionality of catalog in Lightroom backup makes a Backup of your file to catalog only. He doesn't have backups of your photos, you have to do it through other methods.

    Note: backups SHOULD go on a different drive than the originals; you make a terrible mistake if you put them on the same disk as the original.

  • How to download the latest version of mobile-synchronization of the catalog?

    Hello

    My hard drive died, and I discovered that this backup (RAID1) did not work for the last 5 months. I have all my photos on another drive. I just lost my LR catalog, but it was synced with mobile phone, how can I get it back?

    I run LR and it asks me to create a new catalog or choose a local. Okay, I create a new one, I'm going on 'Sync with mobile LR' and he said:

    Delete all data synched? Synchronize you currently 1.lrcat...

    Perfect, so I'm syncing, but how do I get it back? I was trying to find a solution for the whole day, now I saw a LR update happened, so I installed: Lightroom version: CC 2015.4 [1060496]

    And now I'm not able to open the 'Preferences', LR crashes.

    Hope that there is a way to restore my catalog of sync...

    Thank you!

    Unfortunately, the catalog file (*.) LrCat) do not get synchronized on mobile, just images.

    If you have a copy somewhere surviving backup catalog, you're out of luck.

  • How to change the name of the catalog

    I used a 'Test' Catalog.lrdat to try to correct an error in the collection.

    Fortunately, it succeeded.

    I would like to change the name of the catalog, including backups, but the recent problems make me uncomfortable. Is it as simple as "rename all including the original copies and backups?

    I'm on iMac and 10.10.5 using LR 2015.3.

    Vince

    Using the Finder, replace it. LRCAT file for your desired name.

    Then rename the 'Preview' folder using the same naming convention of names (your catalog name + "previews.lrdata").

    There is no need to rename the backup as long as you remember that you have changed the name of the file if you still need to do a restore.

    After you rename the catalog, you will need to manually point LR to the catalog to use since it will find one with the old name.

  • Question of location/duplicate the catalog files

    I need assistance with my location of the catalog.  I restored from backup after resetting my computer.  Now, I have original photos on a D drive and I have a copy (maybe not a complete copy) on the C drive.

    I already had my catalog and my original photos on D (I think).

    Now when I add new photos, where should I put them?  I would like to put it on D, but all other pictures in the catalogue are on C.

    I would like to have everything on D and do not have a copy of everything.

    I don't want to lose one of the photos on D that are not in the catalog for a reason any.

    Thank you for your help.  I feel that we are making progress.  What should I do next?

    First, use the catalog to D: now to import new files. Make sure you set your preferences to import files from the card or the scans to the D: drive.

    Then you can compare what is on C: and D: catalog to make sure that they are the same. You can use the Explorer / Finder to remove duplicates for free space on C:.

    I guess that you always backup folder that you have used before: keep to make sure you have extra security before you do the cleaning on C:.

    You can delete unwanted catalogs since the Organizer catalog manager.

  • optimize the catalog found two days

    I may be in deep Doo - Doo LightRoom here. Any suggestions?

    Not the latest version of LR - LR 6 to CC but I heard some horror stories about the fix of a few weeks ago so I have not installed it, I'm about 2 months late.

    (1) I saw a post on "automatically write changes into XMP"? I did it.  (the question here #4: 5 Questions to help you make sure that your Photos are safe inside Lightroom )

    (2) I got a new 6 TB external drive for my old images

    (3) in LR, I created a new folder on drive 6 TB then moved the folder of the car 3 TB

    (4) I waited very long for about 22 000 files to move on
    (5) after the passage of all did I quit LR and said he'd do the usual backup
    (6) the backup takes more than 30 minutes, wouldn't quit, I have power drove the MacBook
    (7) back in LR, everything was very slow, just trying to move to a file took forever, the screen display was the number of seconds behind mouse clicks
    (8) again to quit LR and has let it's backup jobs - after two days it is still 'optimize catalog previews.

    I think I have two options:
    (A) wait a little longer (2 days?) to see if the LR backup runs on its own until the end
    (B) bail out and get my LR catalog of before I made #1 above (I have a backup!) don't not #1 the thing with XMP, instead of trying to move 22 000 files do everything at the same time in smaller batches

    Here is a screenshot with screen notes...  And some close-ups as she was stopped so small
