  In the end, PS CS3 became unresponsive and activate - deactivate the menu grayed out again.   Quite often these menu items are grayed out for an indefinite period until Photoshop has established a connection with the internet.

  You don't mention your OS, but it can help to run the bridge as an administrator (with a right click) to make it work.

  Also to reset Bridge preferences by holding the Ctrl key when you start it until you get a reset dialog box, where you confirm all three.

  Go to the BIOS by pressing F2.
  Then put the BIOS on the default settings, save the changes and power the laptop off.
  Then switch on the device and access to the BIOS, once more the key F2.

  According to my experience, secure boot option must be available, and you should be able to change the startup mode UEFI/CSM layout too.
