Display favicon

I'm writing a code to download the favicon.ico of a site (for example http://www.blackberry.com/favicon.ico) and convert the ICO Bitmap.

So far, I can download images for the types known as png, but I don't know how to types of unknown files as ico. Can I have help please?

The following code works for the types of files known as png:

InputStream input = getInputStream();
byte[] data = new byte[input.available()];
input.read(data);
EncodedImage image = EncodedImage.createEncodedImage(data, 0, -1);
Bitmap bitmap = image.getBitmap();

What I have to change to make it work for ico?

Thank you

I decided to use the allegedly undocumented favicon of Google service that converts the .png .ico in a size of 16 x 16.

http://www.Google.com/S2/favicons?domain=BlackBerry.com will return the favicon of blackberry in 16 x 16 png.

    For example, if I have a dozen of the URLS in the history who share a part of a URL (for example, IP address), I'll see a dozen lines in the address bar of AutoComplete when I start typing in the URL. Howevere, the URLS on those dozens of lines is not presented... only the favicons for each URL.

    How to fix the blindness to the site favicons?

    as far as I know it's a 16 by 16 pixel favicon, it was produced in line.

    I have no problem with seeing favicons on three sites in your PM on the tab bar (future versions of Firefox 14 + will not show the favicon on the address bar).

    They all send in the Content-Type: image/x-icon by the server.

    I note that there are two different favicons for the first two links you provide.
    Your page code specifies /templates/pulsar/favicon.ico (a star shaped icon; Content-Length: 1150), but there is also an another favicon (Content-Length: 894) in the folder root of the site that seems different.

    I do not know which favicon you intend to show up (Firefox displays the star icon specified for me).

    No problem with the S-shaped icon on the third link either.

    You can try to use the Live Http Headers extension to check if there is a demand for the favicons and the sending server response.

    You can also check out the tools > Page Info > media to check if the favicon shows up.

    You can make a standard test for problems with the images.

    Is he missing pictures then make sure you are not block images from certain domains.

    • Check the permissions for the domain in the active tab in "tools > Page Info > Permissions.

    • See the tab "tools > Page Info > media ' for blocked images (scroll all the images with the cursor key).

    If an image in the list is grayed out and there is a check mark in the box "block Images of..." and remove this mark to unlock the images from this area.

    Make sure that you do not block the images of third parties, the pref permissions.default.images must be 1.

  • FavIcons not showing correctly in the file Explorer, but display correctly in Internet Explorer.

    Please note: this is the opposite of what people usually describe their problem in.

    I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

    My favicon display correctly in the Explorer of files (file mode) but display correctly in Internet Explorer. This intrigues me. When I open the Internet Explorer, icons for Favorites OK show to the left of the name of the shortcut file in the Favorites bar and the Favorites bar. However, when I open Windows File Explorer and check out my favorites and folders, the FavIcons are the generic icons globe, not specific icons to websites that shortcuts point to. The links work well. It's just that the FavIcons are generic globes. (Not all, but many). I want the correct FavIcons to show in the view of Windows File Explorer.

    I tried to revisit web sites and dragging the URL (and favicon) of the bar of address of IE in the "Favorites" folder again. Who has not solved the problem. I tried to go to the page of the site and to type the favicon.ico extension and save it, but windows won't let me save it. (Where can they be saved? And how would be attributed to the shortcut in the file Explorer file? Or is it not the way to solve the problem?)

    Is there a way to fix this without having to download an app/program? Is there a way to solve this problem without changing the registry? Or is the simple registry change?

    I want the correct Favicons to display in the file Explorer, and Internet Explorer.

    Please answer in plain English, not in words irritable. If you propose a procedure, please explain where everything is (how to find things click on what you recommend.)

    Thanks in advance for the help.

    IT IS THE ANSWER. A MODERATOR WOULD MARK IT AS THE ANSWER, OR REPLY TO IT, SO I CAN MARK THE ANSWER. IT SEEMS ABSURD THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO POST AN ANSWER TO OUR QUESTION AND POWER OF THE BRAND AS THE ANSWER. Thank you.

    I searched and found the answer. Also, I realized I had encountered this problem about two years ago and had saved the info of the solution in a Notepad file. On the site, the answer given by Chris H is the solution. It is to delete the icon cache of .db database and allowing windows to create a new. My problem was that the favicons for several favorite shortcuts of IE showed the purple globe (ugly) credits. After that I deleted the icon cache database file, a new file has been created and my favicons are correct for each shortcut.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-desktop/some-desktop-icons-appear-as-broken-icons/05abcead-adb1-43ba-9BB7-e308d0cc83a4

    (Both methods are given in the he.) I list the instructions for the first method, which worked for me. You can click on this page for more information).

    There are a few things you can try:

    First: (icon Cache regeneration)

    1. open Folder Options to select (round) display the hidden files and folders.
    2. open a Windows Explorer window.
    3. go to C:\Users\(User Name) \AppData\Local
    4. right click on IconCache.db and click on delete.
    5. click on Yes to confirm the deletion.
    NOTE: This deletes the file to the trash. It is safe to empty the trash when you are done.
    6. close the window.
    7 empty the trash.
    8 restart the computer.
    9. When you return, you'll notice the size of the file IconCache.db is reduced, and the update is now the current date.
    NOTE: If for some reason any IconCache.db isn't there or the size has not changed much, then just restart the computer again. You may need to restart a few times in some cases.
    10. the icon cache has been rebuilt.
    11. Open Folder Options to select (round) do not show the hidden files and folders.

  • Favicons

    Is there a simple way to install the favicons in the Sierra of Safari? Thank you.

    Hi GrammaLo,

    Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

    I see that you are looking for a simple way to manage icons in Safari. I understand the importance of being able to easily access your favorite sites. I can help you with this.

    An easy way to do it, is to pin frequently visited Web sites. Please take a look at the Safari Help Guide, specifically, this section:

    PIN frequently visited Web sites

    Facebook of PIN, Pinterest, Twitter, Gmail or any other Web site that you visit frequently throughout the day. Pinned Sites stay put on the left side of the tab bar, so you can easily get to them at any time.

    • Pin a website: Drag the tab with the site you want to pin on the left side of the tab bar. When the tab is shrinking and displays the icon of the Web site or its initial, drop it in place.

      You can also choose window > Pin Tab, or control-click on a tab, and then click Pin tab.

    • Reorder pinned Sites: Drag a pinned Site before or after another Site pinned in the tab bar.

    • Not to pin a website: Drag the tab pinned to the right side of the tab bar. When the tab expands to look like a regular tab, drop it in place.

      You can also choose window > unpin tab or Ctrl-click a pinned Site, and then click Unpin.

    Pinned Sites stay in place, even when you open a new Safari window or quit and reopen Safari.

    When you click a link to another website from a pinned Site, the other Web site opens in a new tab. Your pinned Site always shows the Web site as you pinned.

    All the best.

  • Titles tab favicons are confused and do not stick to accurate data - how to solve?

    Since a few days now FF does not display the favicon and the titles of the tabs properly more. (see below for screencast)

    • Instead, a few 'standard' - sites appear in the tab titles and favicons:
     - google
     - wikipedia
     - get involved (firefox)
      - Firefox central

    • as soon as I activate a tab, it's favicon and symbol is updated immediately.
    • most favicons updateto their correct data, as soon as he gets in the background, it is erroneous data.
    • all titles to date for its correct title once activated. But againfalls at the time where to start at bottom.
    • in some tabs the favicon disappears completely during activation (including the placeholder for the icon)
    • also in mode 'tabs to group' securities favicons are not valid. Ironically, just most of them (some favicons are correct) - which makes it more difficult for me to understand.
    • in the group-tabs-view some of the tabs pins/apps favicons simply lack.

    empty the cache, cookies, offline, restart FF data, restart the machine did not help so far.

    As much as I love my history and profile of the data, I don't want to do new FF-profiles.

    I have not changed the configuration of AddOns in recent weeks, but off Sync a few days ago (because Sync messed up my favorites completely - as described here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1023070 )

    Video of screencast:
    https://Flic.KR/p/qMVf2p
    can add screenshots, if necessary. But the video shows better behaviour in my eyes.

    It looks like it is caused by an add-on (which you have many, a recent update of either of these modules could be the cause). Have you tried to test in a profile of costs? Use the Profile Manager to create and delete profiles Firefox

  • favicons in the bar not updated to address

    My apologies in advance for not having all in computer science. I've updated to version 28 yesterday. All seemed well until we have experienced an internet outage in my service area. I received notification of NetGear he had problems with my DSL. The NetGear site displayed a blue capital N as their favorite. I rebooted the computer last night and there was still a failure. The service was restored this morning, but when I rebooted my computer and started firefox then went to the history and restored my last session to go, almost all the small icons in front of the URL for the displayed addresses of Netgear N as the favorite. A few sites Web (Google Maps, genetic restoration and Mozilla Support) displays the favorite icon that I know is associated with them. Curiously, favicons of websites of bookmarks drop-down menu display correctly. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this problem.

    When the error with DSL has occurred, it might be that Mozilla saved at the last browsing session. Mozilla could have saved the favicon of "N" in history. When the session has been restored, "N" icons dominate the pages.

    A new session running could solve this problem!

  • Why are my tabs missing favicon/mini-icon?

    Since yesterday, for some reason, the little icon disappeared from my tabs. This is the small icon that is usually found on the left of the tab 'title '. I don't know why he did it, I recently installed a Greasemonkey script and an another add-on, but I had no real problems and the icon is still there even after you have used the two modules.

    The only thing I can think is that last night I was able to scan using Advanced System Care of iobit and this is how the icons have disappeared. BUT! I have since rebooted several times firefox since then and the icons are still missing with only two exceptions: 1) Firefox logo that is displayed when you are on any page of mozilla; (2) an icon that belongs on a site of fanfiction; no other site doesn't seem to show their icon and instead just as square dotted line border. (I've included a screenshot below!)

    Please, is anyway to fix this?

    You can check the value of the pref. (s) browser.chrome * on the topic: config page to see if they have set to true by default.

    • Browser.chrome.favicons
    • Browser.chrome.site_icons

    If either appears "BOLD" (i.e. the user set), and then double-click the line to toggle its value.

  • How can I completely remove bookmark toolbar favicons?

    I added the following code to my file userChrome.css, but favicons appear again when I download files (documents, photos, etc.). How can I get rid of the favicons completely, so that they reappear after a download?
    Thank you!

     */
    /* Bookmarks Toolbar - hide favicons/placeholders for sites, but show folder icons for menus */
    #personal-bookmarks toolbarbutton:not([type="menu"]) .toolbarbutton-icon {display:none !important;}
    #personal-bookmarks menuitem .menu-iconic-icon {display:none !important;}

    #bookmarksMenu menuitem .menu-iconic-icon {display:none !important;}

    #PlacesToolbarItems .toolbarbutton-icon {display:none!important;}

    The CSS from the other thread should work. But first, remove the - example of a file name. In order to operate, it must be named exactly userChrome.css without the - example.
