Display garbage instead of Unicode character
Hello
IAM, go search for the content web service & after treatment of response when I view the content on-screen RichTextField as the unicode character ($, #, has ^ etc.) are displayed in the form of waste...
But to my surprise when I try to show these characters in the field of rich text as hardcoded (by storing it in a string variable) without fetching web service, they are presented as usual...
Anyone has an idea why this is happening...?
Will I have to do something while recovering from web service so that unicode characters are not displayed as garbage...?
Any kind of help would be appreciated...
Thanks in advance...
No problem, I was just letting you know that my explanation would be not that great because I can never get my head round it...
In any case, assuming that you develop for 4.2 or later, replace this (which is in any way questionable code):
data Byte [] = new byte [in.available ()];
int len = 0;
int size = 0;
Gross StringBuffer = new StringBuffer();
While (-1! = (len = in.read (data)))
{
RAW. Append (new String (data, 0, len));
size += len;
}
String content = raw.toString ();
with this, much easier to read the code:
Byte [] IOUtilities.streamToBytes = data (en);
The contents of the string;
try {}
content = new String (given, "UTF - 8");
} catch (Exception e) {}
never happen, UTF - 8 is supported
}

question links to Unicode character compatibility
Ask for help on the issue of compatibility with Oracle 11 G R2 32 Bit DB Unicode character.
Number description: I created a profile in my application and named with Unicode characters(German\Russian\Latvian... alphabets), at the opening of the profile his throw a error message "profile of Bill is not found in the database."
During the installation of Oracle database, I chose the Unicode UTF-8 characters in data set. According to our guide to applications, it considers that the database characterset and not the character set.
Let me know if I have to make a few additional parameters with respect to the parameters of this globalization.
Thank you
BrijI don't know what made the request, so I don't know also the role of profile and what is not found - just - in the database. At least 'a profile of Bill' is not a native Oracle object.
Is it not possible to analyse the problem of enforcement.On the database side character set UTF8 (although I prefer the 'new' characterset AL32UTF8) is appropriate in a globalized environment. What to do in the interaction between the application and the database - which depends strongly on the application itself.

Unicode character on the command line
I have a folder that contains a non-ASCII character, "registered sign" (®), which can be typed in a Terminal by using the-r option.
It is U + 00AE, and as an 8-bit character, it is 174 decimal. I want to be able to enter this character on the command line without
typing Option, because I have to build a Terminal command using an application that
is not respectful of Unicode. So option-r helps me create a string that contains this character.
For example, in the Terminal, I made a folder in ~ with
as its name in full (I typed a r while pressing the option key): > mkdir ~ /.
I can list help
> ls ~ /.
but I have to be able to do so * without using any modifier key * (as option).
I thought I could use something like (after cd ~)
> ls \302\256
or
> ls \u00AE
or
> ls \xc2\xae
but I could not do the shell to interpret what I type as registered r symbol. Everything what I enter is interpreted
literally as individual characters rather that, for example, the \xC2 is considered a single character. I also tried different combinations
quotes as double the backslash, but I continue get "No such file or directory".
How can I represent this character on the command line without modifier keys? I'm on El Capitan, OS X 10.11.2, running bash 3.2.
Have you tried zsh instead of bash?
I think bash supports \u starting only 4.2

Display of Asian characters, Unicode issues
I have a problem with the display of Asian characters. In a number of programs instead of display characters, it shows just the squares for lack of character. So far the programs I've seen this problem in are iTunes, Windows Explorer, Notepad and Windows Media Player. When I copy these places in Google Chrome, they seem like the appropriate characters. I recently installed Windows 7 (some time last week) and could see all the fine Asian characters. The problem started this morning after restarting my computer (before I restarted the computer, I could see all the characters). Most of the solutions, I tried an online state change settings Japanese system locale. However, the characters I want to see are not all Japanese. Some are Koreans and some Chinese. Is there a way to establish that he is able to show all three types of characters?
Hi crazymanjinn,
a. what edition of windows 7 you are using?
b. recent changes made on your computer, such as installing or upgrading the software/hardware?If it solves your problem, you can try the steps and check them off below.
1. open region and language by clicking on the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking clock, language, and region, click the region and language.
2. click on the keyboards and languages tab.
3. under display language, click install/uninstall languages, and then follow the steps. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.For more information, visit the links below:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/language-packsIf your problem persists then, you try to run the restore of the system on your computer.
System Restore will take your computer state permeable when it did not face such a problem, this can be done by selecting the correct restore point.
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
4. click on finish.For more information visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212/

Here's one way:
WITH got_special_characters AS ( SELECT id , summary , REGEXP_REPLACE ( summary , '[][[:alnum:],: ()''"./\+%?#' || CHR (10) || '-]' ) AS special_characters FROM abc ) SELECT id , summary , special_characters FROM got_special_characters WHERE special_characters IS NOT NULL ORDER BY id ; {code} Inside square brackets, the characers ']' and '-' have special meanings, unless you use them in places where the special meaning can't apply. That means the ']' must be the first character inside the square brackets (Oracle assumes you're not ending the set right after you begin it) and the '-' must be the very last character inside the square brackets. Depending on what newline is on your system, you may want to use CHR (13) in addition to, or instead of, CHR (10). it would be more efficient to use the TRANSLATE fucntion, rather than REGEXP_REPLACE, to produce special_characters. You'd have to list all 80 or so of the non-special characters, but you'd only have to do it once. {code} WITH got_special_characters AS ( SELECT id , summary , TRANSLATE ( summary , '=0123456789ABCEDFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcedfghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz,: -[]()''"./\+%?#' || CHR (10) , '=' ) AS special_characters FROM abc ) SELECT id , summary , special_characters FROM got_special_characters WHERE special_characters IS NOT NULL ORDER BY id ;

Why the firefox rendering engine go berzerk and display garbage?
As I scroll or I go to a new page, more at any time, the display in the window of Firefox becomes badly displayed. It is pehaps diagonally across the window or perhaps a sub display field appears distorted diagonally. I could send a screenshot. It happened a bit when you use Thunderbird, which I understand has the same rendering engine but not lately. If I close Firefox and start it again, it might behave for a while. He quickly began having problems again. Right now, as I type this, this pane for entering text flashes on and outside, and it has now begun to go diagonal to its display. At the same time, I continue to type text. Is it possible to send some screenshots? As I type this and then to the bottom of the page, try to copy and past the information requested below in case of problem, I had a lot of trouble with the screen turning autour. Finally, I noticed the link to copy all to the Clipboard to paste below. I can't tell you if he did because I can't get the window below to display correctly.
Instead of boot mode safe, you can try to turn off the use hardware acceleration where possible of Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Advanced > general and restart Firefox normally.
You can also take a screenshot using the PrtSc / SysRq key on the keyboard. This takes a picture of the whole desktop, copy the memory/Clipboard and you can paste it in any graphics program, save it and download it. To take a just active window press Alt and the key above together.

How to display text instead of a value empty in the SelectOneChoice list.
Hello
I have a requirement where I need to display a string of characters such as "Please select value" instead of the item in the select list of first choice. To remedy this on an empty value, this string if displayed in the list of choices, and if the user does not select any value it should be treated as an empty value normal and validation should be fired.
May I know is there a property that we can set declaratively or any workaround for this?
My version of JDev: 11.1.1.7.0
Much thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Dietsch.
Hello
In the list of values of the VO, check "Include any item in the selection", select "label point first in the list ' from the drop down and give your custom label.

https://forums.Oracle.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=56If you use ADF BC, you can create a VO with a join between the table 1 & table 2 exposing all the fields.
Then you can drag and drop the original Version as an array of attributes required on the user interface.This should focus on what I said - the name instead of id

RupeshOBIEE presentation Service is an HTML element based on software then it does not show the end file character CHR (10) or Chr (13).
You must replace this with the HTML tag charcaters
.I'm not sure of the name of the function, but you must make a formula like this
replace(mytable.mycolumn, chr(10), '
')See you soon

read the unicode character value
Hi all
I'm reading a file that is written in albanin. So of course, I've implemented a way to read in unicode and then store then in an Arraylist and print again return.
Here is the code I tried:
FileInputStream
Dim str As String = null;
Try
{
in = new FileInputStream ("C:\\Users\\Administrator\\Desktop\\d1.txt");
InputStreamReader inputStreamReader = new InputStreamReader (in);
BufferedReader bufferedReader = new BufferedReader (inputStreamReader);
Str = bufferedReader.readLine ();
}
catch (System.Exception e)
{
e.printStackTrace ();
}
StringBuffer ostr = new StringBuffer();
for (int i = 0; i < str.length (); i ++)
{
OSTR. Append ("\\u");
Hex String = Integer.toHexString (str.charAt (i) & 0xFFFF); Get a hex value of Arctic char.
for (int j = 0; j < 4 - hex.length (); j ++) / / Prepend zeros because unicode requires 4 numbers
OSTR. Append ("0");
OSTR. Append (hex.toLowerCase ()); format of the unicode standard.
}
System.out.println (new String (ostr));
Although the unicode letter 'Ë' is 00cb, program gives the value "\ufffd" but for other normal characters, it displays the correct values (for English characters)
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks in advance...first of all, check your encoding of the file.
