Display of Asian characters, Unicode issues

I have a problem with the display of Asian characters. In a number of programs instead of display characters, it shows just the squares for lack of character. So far the programs I've seen this problem in are iTunes, Windows Explorer, Notepad and Windows Media Player. When I copy these places in Google Chrome, they seem like the appropriate characters. I recently installed Windows 7 (some time last week) and could see all the fine Asian characters. The problem started this morning after restarting my computer (before I restarted the computer, I could see all the characters). Most of the solutions, I tried an online state change settings Japanese system locale. However, the characters I want to see are not all Japanese. Some are Koreans and some Chinese. Is there a way to establish that he is able to show all three types of characters?

Hi crazymanjinn,

a. what edition of windows 7 you are using?
b. recent changes made on your computer, such as installing or upgrading the software/hardware?

If it solves your problem, you can try the steps and check them off below.

1. open region and language by clicking on the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking clock, language, and region, click the region and language.
2. click on the keyboards and languages tab.
3. under display language, click install/uninstall languages, and then follow the steps.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

For more information, visit the links below:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/install-or-change-a-display-language
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-special-characters-character-map-frequently-asked-questions
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/language-packs

If your problem persists then, you try to run the restore of the system on your computer.

System Restore will take your computer state permeable when it did not face such a problem, this can be done by selecting the correct restore point.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
4. click on finish.

Hope this information is useful.

    You said it is corrupt, and you know n must be converted to n.

    You can add more characters you know the output should be, just add it to the function to translate.

    No problem, I was just letting you know that my explanation would be not that great because I can never get my head round it...

    In any case, assuming that you develop for 4.2 or later, replace this (which is in any way questionable code):

    data Byte [] = new byte [in.available ()];
    int len = 0;
    int size = 0;
    Gross StringBuffer = new StringBuffer();
    While (-1! = (len = in.read (data)))
    {
    RAW. Append (new String (data, 0, len));
    size += len;
    }
    String content = raw.toString ();

    with this, much easier to read the code:

    Byte [] IOUtilities.streamToBytes = data (en);
    The contents of the string;
    try {}
    content = new String (given, "UTF - 8");
    } catch (Exception e) {}

    never happen, UTF - 8 is supported

    }

  • Do not display properly accented characters

    Hi guys

    In my application, I received a .json file encoded in ANSI format, that contains characters such as aeiou. The interface has a ListView that loads the json data.

    In Beta 2, the texts were displayed correctly, but in Beta 3, the special characters are displayed as a box with an X on the device and Simulator.

    If I encode the file in UTF-8, nothing I've shown on the ListView, and it appears in the log:

    JSON ERROR: "* line 1, column 1 syntax error: value, object, or array expected.»

    The json file is loaded in C++ with this code:

    JDA BB::Data:JsonDataAccess;
    QMap jsonCont = jda.load("data/file.json").toMap ();
    Lst QVariantList = jsonCont.value("items").toList ();

    dataModel = new GroupDataModel (QStringList)<>
    dataModel-> setParent (this);
    dataModel-> insertList (lst);
    dataModel-> setGrouping (ItemGrouping::None);
    listView if (listView)-> setDataModel (dataModel);

    The texts are loaded in the ListItems with QML code:

    {Label
    text: ListItemData.title

    }

    I searched the forums and found this thread of special characters, but this does not solve my problem.

    I would really appreciate any ideas.

    José Ugalde

    Looks to his saying that your json file is misformatted, not if your accented characters are a problem.

  • How to display the French characters and have the function of nav

    I have a website that I had to add pages in French. When I downloaded it, the server has not found pages (URL contains accented characters). I found conflicting info on the person to handle this.

    1. I've tried in the URL convert the character into its HTML equivalent. The advantage: the server has acknowledged and navigation passes correctly, however the URL seems clumsy as it shows the HTML character in the URL.

    2. I tried to change the metadata of the character set UTF-8 than indicated in french. That makes the work of nav, but accented everything on the page looked funky characters.

    3. Google suggests to keep the set of characters in UTF-8 format but adding the equivalent ASKII for the character highlighted in the URL. Done that and the nav does not recognize them. (When I changed the URL of the page, it also updated the href page to display ASKII characters in the name. I tried both ways with the href attribute in page nav using ASKII characters and accented characters).

    Anyone has experience with that or recommendations to do it correctly?

    Accents in URLS are not allowed and cannot be encoded. See this article on Wikipedia.

    Use only the characters a - z, digits 0-9, hyphen, underscore, dot and squiggle.

    .. .but please make an attempt with XMLTABLE XMLQUERY, XMLCAST (or CAST) and other XML functions that support XQuery and not to use the engine of 'old '... I hope that these features will keep things as it should...

    .. .If not... create an SR with support of Oracle on this issue. Changes, if you base your SR on these 'old' operators XML/SQL and functions that are her will not be able to help, mainly due to the fact that your last version and stuff like EXTRACT / getStringVal() etc. are announced officially discouraged in this 11.2.0.2.0 version. As far as I know the t.xmldata.extract, the xml_type.extract and the other syntaxes, outlaw count of 10.1 (although I know, he appealed to java / OO people kind).

    Please provide a solution for this.

    Here ya go to 15 characters maximum.

    This example uses textInputA as a box of textInput that someone can type in.  As a result, in the text/label component, it checks the length of the value of textInputA and if it is longer than 15 characters, it removes all characters beyond 15 and adds [...] at the end.

    You can substitute other things instead of a textInput control, but I used it here as it's the easiest way to explain.
