  Thank you Joe Maniac.  I deleted the original linked files on my internal hard drive which were dng files, but had copies of the raw files edited and edited the exported raw files (in JPEG format).  I don't have copies of dng files.  So what I ended up having to do was import the original raw files which then made a DNG copy on my internal hard drive.  The link has not changed, but now the files were back in the original track for missing photo alerts disappeared and I was able to see my change history.  The process has been painful, but without the dng, I had nothing to do a link to more if at least re-import them files has recreated the dng.  I don't know if there was an easier way, but it seemed that the problem did not the link deletion.  I use LR for a few years, but it was a rookie mistake, precipitated by my hard drive being so jammed up I ended up delete what I shouldn't.  I should have just moved the dng and the link to an external hard drive. Thanks again.

  You opened an empty catalog.

  You can try the following two steps to open the appropriate catalog file.

  1. Use the file-> open recent, open the list of all catalogs
  2. If this does not work, you will need to find the appropriate help for your operating system catalog file and double-click it to open it.

  Apologies for the inconvenience.

  The minimum version of camera for Canon G3 X access files is 9.1.1 However, last camera raw update for Lightroom 5.7.1 was 8.7.1.

  Thus, you would not be able to access these raw files in Lightroom.

  For Lightroom, you can switch to Lightroom 6 or download DNG Converter to convert these images to DNG and then access in Lightroom.

  For Photoshop CS6, you should be able to access raw Canon G3 X images as CS6 version supports them.

  Make sure all your plugin for Photoshop CS6 camera raw.

  The lack of tabs in display properties usually indicates a malware infection. First run the scans and do not skip the preparatory work. If the machine stands (not frozen) in Safe Mode (where you'll be scanning), it is also a good indication of infection. Regarding the CD does not start, you probably don't have the computer configured to boot from the optical drive. But no matter, because enter the Recovery Console (which is what happens when you press 'R' from the XP installation disk) won't be useful in your situation anyway.

While trying to remove any driver annoying inderteminant that prevented my midi interface to work, I deleted all the Microsoft Sound, video and drivers game in my device manager controller, thinking that I would like to get them back to a reboot.   I'm trying to use the GPS feature in Microsoft streets & trips 2011. I connect my Garmin nüvi 40 to a USB port and it says "device not connected" when I click on Configure GPS. The USB ports on my work computer and I connect the GPS and use it to download/download photos and today I updated maps of garmin.com. It was no problem. However, Microsoft streets & trips 2011 is unable to see the GPS device no matter which USB port I use.
