Display SQL Developer problem.

Hello
I have a problem with the 1.5.5 version of SQL Developer, installed on a Win7 32-bit of the system. First of all, at the launch of the it, it automatically sets the display mode of aero Classic (don't know if this is planned, or another problem of mine). Then, after you connect to a database, when the registration of its content, structure, even in the script, after scrolling, the text window appears distorted or just parts of it (as it does not have a complete refresh). After clicking with the mouse, or minimize/maximize the window, everything seems correct, but it is very annoying to do whenever I want to scroll upwards or downwards.

Thank you!

Well 1.5 is quite old, probably you're having some kind of JVM related issue.

Download the latest version and should be fixed most of your display problems.

But for now, my problem is with the help of COLLECTING to the aggregation of the chain.

It works in SQLPlus SQL Developer. Is my SQL or is there a SQL Developer problem?

Hello

The following thread answering your question:
COLLECT the bug?

You must cast IT explicitly the collection in SQL Developer. Apparently in SQL * more than implicitly, but we cannot do it on JDBC.

• Problem with Apex 5.0 report with a query that runs in SQL Developer

Hello

I have a query that runs in SQL Developer without problem, but when I use it in a classic report, it displays following:

error report:

ORA-06502: PL/SQL: digital or value error: character of number conversion error

The query is:

select
T1.ID_ATTACHMENT,
T1.BLOB_CONTENT,
T2.ATTACH_CATEGORY,
T1.FILENAME,
T1.ATTACHMENT_DESCRIPTION
from ATTACHMENTS T1
LEFT JOIN REF_ATTACH_CATEGORIES T2
ON T1.ATTACHMENT_CATEGORY = T2.ID_ATTACH_CATEGORY
WHERE T1.ID_ATTACHMENT IN
(SELECT ID_ATTACHMENT FROM REL_ATTACHMENTS
WHERE REL_PART_ID = 1
AND REL_ID = 64146);

And the output of SQL Developer is:

2015-08-12_01-03-36.png

I have following Setup for the BLOB_CONTENT column in the classic report:

2015-08-12_01-06-25.png

Any ideas what is causing this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Sergio

I don't have notes with me, but I think that the content of the blob must be selected as:

DBMS_LOB. GetLength (blob_content) as blob_content

and check that you have included the primary key in the results.

• Problems with Oracle sql developer

Hello

I have problems with my Oracle SQL developer 3.0.04 Version. It makes windows unstable once the query tries to display too many rows of data (for example, 300 k). Is there a way to solve this problem in addition to increasing the amount of physical memory? I currently have only 1 GB of RAM on this machine. Thank you.

Hello

Upgrading hardware can be a very satisfying experience, especially as it is almost always little expensive compared to the value of your time. Virtual memory / paging on the Windows and PC hardware is a huge disappointment, so more memory on Windows is a cure-all. With more and more common 64-bit operating systems, laptop computers and the PC is currently available with 8G of memory.

That said, I think few users have a business case for the visualization of the hundreds of thousands of lines via a graphical user interface.

Getting back to what concerns the management of memory in java, I want to put in a plug for the garbage and first new Garbage Collector. It will be the production in JDK 1.7, but can be found in the JDK 1.6 u14 & high in experimental option. The most recent revision update, the better it is. Just add something like this in your sqldeveloper.conf file:

AddVMOption - XX: + UnlockExperimentalVMOptions
AddVMOption - XX: + UseG1GC
AddVMOption - XX: + G1YoungGenSize = 25 m
AddVMOption - XX: + G1ParallelRSetUpdatingEnabled
AddVMOption - XX: + G1ParallelRSetScanningEnabled

It does a much better job of actually release unused memory in the context of the o/s.

• Problem with SQL Developer to capture

Hi guys,.

I am facing a problem for the last 4 days with SQL Developer. I use to migrate sql database to oracle SQL Developer. It worked well before and I had migrated some tables as well. But all of a sudden a few days before I had a mistake, I was unable to capture the objects. While I am trying to capture the sql database or the tables the progress dialog box is displayed as usual, but he suddenly gets hit and the green light turns red which is in the upper left corner. Said at that time, the progress message that appears at the bottom of the box +' stored jdbc:jtds:sqlserver: / / < hostname >: < port > / < the database name > ' +. But if I use another oracle server, then I can capture objects.

Because of this error, I'm not able to go forward. I tried to solve this problem in many ways. But nothing helps! Please help me solve this problem, as it's an emergency.

Thanks in advance.

You can use the method of capture in offline mode:
Click on tools-> Migration-> third party database offline Capture-> Capture database creation scripts
Now select the output directory of these scripts and the source database. Also, make sure that you have selected the Batch mode. Once this is done, copy all scripts on a computer with an installed SQL Server client or perform the export on the SQL Server computer directly.
Run the script and you'll get 2 directories with a couple of DAT files created. ALL switch to SQL Developer machine and load them into the SQL Developer
Click on tools-> Migration-> third party database offline Capture-> Capture Script output load of database

• SQL Developer 2.1 display gets garbled when scrolling

Morning people,

I'm using 2.1 for a few weeks now. When I scroll through the tree or by using the sql worksheet, the display is garbled. Only way to "Refresh" is if I cut the window and then bring it back. I tried to adjust the frequency of refresh on my monitor, but even the lowest setting does not help. I still have an XP machine and it doesn't happen on 2.1 it or it never happened on 1.5.

Anyone else having this problem? I use Vista Enterprise.

Thank you

Evita

I had a similar problem a bit back on my home machine. Is your business Vista 32 or 64 bit?

Found this circulate here: the screen refresh problem with SQL Developer 1.5.5 on Vista 64-bit

I don't think this is the solution I did. If I remember, I used Win7 64-bit, and a 64-bit version of the JDK. Some suggested website also install a 32 bit JDK and selecting new SQLDeveloper who. I think that's what I did.

• Display of items on the left side of the SQL Developer.

We have problems with the display of the objects on the left side of the SQL Developer. I think it has to do with the permission issues. I have a proxy account, but I also have a read-only account. Now, I can query tables on the worksheet, but I can't see the objects on the left side as I can with my proxy account.

Is there a default value that I need to activate or disable?

Help, please

Thank you

Then this is the answer to your question: you do not have the select privileges on sys.external_tab$ (exceptionally the table may not exist).

• 12 c to Oracle & SQL Developer 4.1.2 (Windows 8.1): problems of creating user

... I am able to create a new connection:

Connect.PNG

Then, I'm supposed to create a new user. (Just FYI: it comes from an old assignment which I finally finished by using MS SQL Server.) But I'm still confused what I did wrong here...) My instructions everything first, run me the following command (as far as I can tell to create the user in the corresponding container):

AlterSession.PNG

Problem: After having successfully performed this command, other actions involving the connection causes the following error message:

error.PNG

After spending hours reinstalling Oracle and try different things (inspired by manuals and online forums) that never significantly improved situation, any kind of help are much appreciated!

The exception is indicative that the PDB is NOT open.

A "start" command does NOT open all of the default Database. When you first installed 12 c and created a sample DB installation process open. You likely judgment of the DB and pc - then you started the pc and the DB started automatically but then ONLY the root/CBD is started.

You logged in as SYS to the root/CBD and together the container to the PDB but the PDB is not open.

Multitenant has MANY differences from earlier versions and you just stumbled upon one of them. You have two options

1. create a trigger AFTER STARTING that opens the PDB files to automatically open

2 open the PDB manually - "ALTER PLUGGABLE DATABASE ALL OPEN;"

I answered SEVERAL times in the multitenant forum answering the same basic issue. See for example my answers in this thread

Re: creating new users in oracle 12 c

Now for the advice, that no one ever seems 1) want to hear, 2) take seriously or 3) actually do.

RTFM - with 12 multitenant c, that you will continue to have similar problems, until you read and understand the multi-tenant architecture.

I recommend you first read chapters 17 and 18 of the doc of Concepts on the new 12 c multitenancy.

http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E16655_01/server.121/e17633/part_consol.htm#CHDGDBHJ

There are 3 or 4 relevant threads in the forum shared that have chunks of that info. So if you want you can read these threads, my answers and links I provide still other threads:

HI Wouter,

In fact, my advice was r ide.user.diuse to replace the default user settings folder. Under normal circumstances the default value of %APPDATA%\SQL developer and the problem is usually an administrative policy that prevents updates records and files in %AppData%.

My expectation was so you would set ide.user.dir to something other than a folder under % APPDATA %., maybe C:\Temp\OSD, to see if it works.

• Help with MS Access SQL Developer Import (problem of DateTime field)

So here's my dilemma...

I am currently trying to import from MS Access to SQL Developer, by exporting MS Access to MS Excel and then import in my table of the exporting Excel sheet. What happens is that when I import the excel sheet, it is does not keep the format of date/time / I tried several different formats, but everyone seems to exclude the time and the date.

My field of date/time is currently set up like this on SQL Developer:

DD/RRRR/MM HH: MM: SS AM/PM

And the Excel sheet, I'm importing the field corresponding, defined as follows:

mm/dd/yyyy/hh/mm/ss AM/PM

The answer (s) I'm importing is as follows:

Date/time physical_cpu server_id

01/11/2013-12:01:23 AM scc415 6.03999996

When the record is imported, it eliminates the time, so the imported data are:

Date/time physical_cpu server_id

01/11/2013 6.03999996 scc415

Any idea on how to get this timestamp to import properly? Many appreciate the ideas in advance!

Looks like I have found the solution. For some reason, export to leave access to Excel first and then open and save the file as a .csv instead of a .xlsx, date/time information are maintained. This problem has been resolved.

Found the solution on the following link for anyone interested.

Hello Stefan,

did you create the repository Migration of your database to Oracle (Tools-> Migration-> repository management)?

The SS2K5ALLPLATFORM package is usually created when you add the migration of the Oracle database repository and it contains the function StageCapture.

So please make sure that you have created a repository of migration in an Oracle database and associate it with the first step of your migration.

• create a new user with password expire - problem SQL Developer

Hi people,

I use RDBMS 11.2.x on Solaris and Linux, and in the face of a problem that I hope someone can help me with.

Our policy is to create a new account with a temporary password and force them to reset the password at the first login.

Therefore, I use: "create user < username > identified by < user > password expire...» »

The problem is that many users use Oracle SQL Developer and do not have access to SQL * more.

When I user logs in the database for the first time in SQL Developer, he just tells them that the account is locked.

It does not say the password is expired, and it does not give them a way to change this (that I can find it).

I'm not familiar with SQL Developer and hoped for someone who has had a similar problem can offer some suggestions.

Thank you.

Hi Elaine,.

Whenever unexpected behavior occurs is not a known bug, I always suspect corruption in the migrated settings / preferences of the user. Is the best way to test this
1. export definitions of connection, you do not want to lose.
2. Add the following line to your sqldeveloper.conf file...

AddVMOption - Dide.user.dir =

3. restart the product without migrating all settings

The conf file is \sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf. IDE.user.dir must be available in writing being given to whatever your username has privileges (and preferably on a drive off-grid) and must be different from the value default SQL Developer uses (for example, on Windows 7, C:\Users\Developer \AppData\Roaming\SQL).

If el_ccn.sql script works correctly with the own user preferences, by default, then you can return to the editing of the conf file, delete or rename the folder system3.2.20.09.87 in the ide.user.dir original or default folder, and then restart the product, migrate or does not migrate settings from a previous installation as desired.

Hope this helps,
Gary
