Dissemination of problems-Church of Media Player will not automatically play more

In the past (3 days ago I also an automatically upgraded to Media Player 11) when I played a broadcast of the Church, he played on media player no delay or anything, now it wll not play automatically. Now I get a pop up asking if I want to download the show (never done that before), when I say yes it takes a long time, after it is downloaded it said: he can't read mp3 or something like that and if I want to open anyway, I say yes, but I get a picture but no sound.  I did the windows fix solution, he said that I had no decoder, so I ordered and downloaded the Corel DVD Xpack now I get no picture just a line grey and not sound, and when I try additional steps I get a still picture and no sound.  So I did the fix it solution now it says something codec, but he did not repair because it finds problems.  Help, please.

Hello

1, what is the exact error message you get?

I think to read the files, you may need to install the codec supported for your file play on Windows Media Player.

  • Media Player will not stop playing when the close button is hit.

My media player works fine until I try to close. When I watch a video clip, I make sure that I have 'stop' the clip before I "close" (the little red button with an X in it, which is suppose to close the program) the player or clip will continue to play in the background. If I brings up the Task Manager, it will display no programs running, I can still here the clip and I'm going to start > all programs > media player always plays the same clip. It is not suppose to do this right? If it is then how can I change so it 'close' media player?

    Hi major347,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft answers Community Forums.

This one seems to be really weird when you began experiencing this problem?

You have a connected PDA that uses the media player? Sometimes Windows Mobile Device Center has been continuously the reactivation of WMP.

Another possible issue of the keyboard that you use may control the media player. There are known of the problem with the Logitech keyboard software. Try this if you have a Logitech software update.

Try to open the Task Manager is trying to kill the wmpsideshowgadget.exe process and check if it shutsdown.

If it works there, then, open the CONTROL PANEL

    Double-click WINDOWS SIDESHOW

Uncheck everything that has to do with WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

You can also try to disable sharing in media player click on... Tools-> Options-> library-> configure share-> uncheck the two 'media find others to share' & "share my media".

    Check if it works.

If all the above fails try to perform the clean boot

How to perform a clean boot:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/331796

Try doing a sfc scan and see if that makes a difference

Try to run a SFC scan, to do this, follow these steps:

Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

  • Media Player will not play mp4 or mpeg1 files. When I try the system crashes and it goes to the blue screen of death

I'm running a quad core with 8 GB of windows 7 with office 2013 RAM.  All are clean installs.  When I try to play a video file on Media player my system breaks down and made a memory dump.  This also happens when I try and put a video in PowerPoint.  I am able to play these videos on QuickTime on the same machine.  The videos play fine on another machine of Windows 7 office 2013.  We use this system for presentations churches.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello

    1. Do you have an error message when you play this video?
    2. What Media Player do you use?
    3. Did you recent hardware or changes to the software to the computer before the show?

I suggest using Windows Media Player, then try the following steps. This problem may occur because of codecs. A codec is a software to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or a video. Windows Media Player and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files.
