• Recommendation of LMS for Captivate?

  We are considering buying Captivate and do not have an LMS System.  I know that Adobe Connect contains an LMS, but it is packed with lectures on the web that I don't need and do not want to pay.  Do you know an LMS that works well with Captivate?

  First, Captivate 4 and 5 of Captivate can coexist on the same computer. for example, you can have a copy of Captivate 4 and saved copy (or a copy of the trial) of Captivate 5 parellelly running on the same computer.

  Then, Captivate offers this compatibility with content created in Captivate 4 upwards. In other words, project created in Captivate 4 can be opened and edited in Captivate 5. Vice Versa is not true, i.e. the content created in Captivate 5 can be changed in Captivate 4.

  I'm sorry. It's not native functionality for Captivate – does not support variables anywhere, from the point of view of the developer.

  This is not to say that it is impossible, but your only hope would be Flash.

  Captivate does data collection from the LMS, and although it has never posted anywhere, it can be contained in the strings, he receives from the LMS. You have to look at the wrapper HTML/Javascript file that goes with your SWF file and see if you can see where it passes the name of the student.

  I'm at one end of my rope. Here's what I'm actually trying to do:

  I have a few short tutorials, already created, they work fine. I want to create a new tutorial that provides a context and then launches the tutorials previously created on an arbitrary slide. A nice to have would be for the small tutorial understanding that it was launched by another video swf (rather than by a direct link) and then exit to the tutorial of aggregation.

  Any ideas how to get every function/feature to work?

• Reference material JavaScript for Captivate

  For the last day, I searched for the reference material on the use of Javascript in Captivate. I really can't find much. There is nothing in the product help and these forums are fairly dry.

  The only thing I've found is http://captivatedev.com/series/captivate-javascript-series/, a really good introduction to using Javascript in Captivate. I wish there was more.

  Basically, I want to know what functions are available and what I call (that is, objects, they do part, perhaps with code samples).

  Anyone know where I can find this for Captivate?

  Have you checked that Panel Advanced Interaction, please? All of the marked objects that are indicated to be added to the total of the Quiz are part of all system Quizzing variables. Insert a slide to score in your project and check the result when previewing in the browser or after publication.

• Flash or HTML5 for Captivate 9

  My organization is moving from 7 to 9 Captivate.  While doing some research on 9 I came across a blur on 9 Captivate in HTML5 based.

  So the question... with Captivate 9, can I still publish as a .swf or is it exclusively HTML5 now?

  I ask because our current LMS does not work with HTML5 published courses.  It is supposed to and they are working on it, but I need to know if we are about to run into a ditch of capabilities, so I can report this problem.

• Firewall exception for Captivate 9 new

  Whenever I run 9 Captivate my system wants a firewall exception for captivatenews. The only way this stops is by disabling the firewall, but the firewall must be on for me to work remotely. FYI, I'm not a sys admin, my organization is an it company. So far could not solve. I see 8 Captivate has had this bug. Is there a solution so that I don't have to wait to cancel the alert?   Please go to your installed folder and search the file AdobeCaptivate.ini.

  Cope and stick this on your desktop. Edit this file and set UseEdgeInspect = 0 instead of 1, save it and paste it into the location of Captivate installed.

• Screen resolution for Captivate Application

  I use the demo version of Captivate and my best for my screen resolution is 1920 by 1080.  I have a laptop, but this is my second screen.  I contacted Adobe Help and all they continued to make is try different sizes.  Well I could have done that.

  The problem is that I have the screen gives me all the features such as scrollbars; in dialog boxes, I can click on cancel or OK.

  All of the suggestions.  I never had this problem before.  Thank you.

  This is a parameter of %, not an absolute font size. Somehow, he must be a resolution problem, I use Win10 as well and see the whole user interface.

  Depends on the topic, most of the themes in Captivate 9 have trebuchet (optimized) as default font, there are Myriad Pro, sometimes there is a mixture of fonts. There is no way to change this font in a single action for all styles of object.

  Create a custom theme (see what is a theme - a Template? - Captivate blog ) and set it as the default theme. You can change all the styles object in this custom theme and future projects will use this theme if it is set as default theme.
