DL380 gen8 cloning hard drive

Hello

I'm sorry if I posted the wrong place because I found no related topic that I face.

I dl230 gen8 20 + servers and intend to install win server 2008 r2. I am plan must create master hdd who settle everything (drivers and software, etc.) and make cloning for the rest using Ghost servers.

After I created master HDD, I clone the secondary hard drive, but it could not start

I tried on the same server that has been done on the main hard drive. Drive hard Master can go to windows (start). only secondary (cloned) fails.

Here is some info from my main hard drive.

logical drive - 160 GB (RAID 0) configuration of default table

Address configuration of berries? I know, without any logical drive on the server may not make operating system installation. Right?

If I can't clone, I have to individually install OS on 20 + Server

I appreciate any response...

Thank you

All the best

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand the concern to recover files from hard drive which has already abolished. For now, I'll ask to refer to suggestions provided by Linney, MVP, in the thread below link and check if they help.

Recover deleted files from external hard drive

Suggestions may be applicable to Windows 7 as well

    Hello

I think that the system cannot boot to the new HARD disk as the partition where the system is installed, was not marked as bootable system partition.

I recommend to insert the previous HARD drive and to start the laptop.
HARD drive new, cloned could be connected as an external HARD drive to a USB port.

Then you should go to disk management (right click my computer - manage-> management-> disk management computer)
Here you can see the HARD internal disk and the 2nd HARD drive connected to the USB port
Right-click on the partition (2nd HARD drive) where the Win XP has been installed and choose the partition as the system partition and mark it as active.

Then you could change the HARD drive again and could power the device in place. Usually, the system should boot to the top of the new marked system partition.

  • Strange problem using cloned hard drive - Equium L20

I recently cloned the 40 GB Toshiba hard drive in my Equium L20. Boot from the new drive everything starts fine, but for some reason, I can't the LAN or wireless to work!

For example, to view the settings on the wireless generally show a window with 3 tabs, one for services, one for authentication and one for the firewall (I am running XP here). But on the new disc hard, I see two tabs, the Authentication tab is missing. Looking at the Device Manager on the original hard drive - I have two devices as expected, LAN and Wireless, but on the cloned drive here? loads, including loads of trend Miniport drivers too.

It's like something has not just copied, and I don't know where to start!

    Hello

I m not an expert on this subject.
But who knows? Maybe you have cloned the drive properly!
It really seems like you did something wrong.

How do you clone HARD drive?

In my case, I only create an image of a partition C. This partition has been saved as an image .gho file.
I can always use this file and can restore my C partition on each new HARD disk that is installed in my notebook.
    and everything works smoothly!

  • Cloning hard drive with Clonezilla failed, gave a bad sector error message and now the original hard drive will not boot

    Original title: startup problem

I tried cloning from my hard drive with Clonezilla, and he gave me a bad sector error.  I have since run the hard drive test in bios and it passed.  Anyway, clone has failed, and now the original hard drive will not boot.  My dvd player won't turn when I try to load the Vista repair CD (Vista Home Premium 32 bit).  Clonezilla removes the start settings for the original disc?  And if so, how can I restore it?  The computer starts just a black screen with a cursor at the top left.  When I install the hard drive in a box and connect it to another computer, it shows the partitions and files all seem to be there.

    Hi DougEisenmann,

Clonezilla is not supported by Microsoft.

If you are unable to boot from the Vista repair disk then you will need to go into the system BIOS and make sure that it is configured to boot from the DVD drive.

  • Help: New Hard Drive HP DV6910EA & cloning HARD drive?

Thinking about upgrading my laptop HP DV6910EA hard drive to a 500 GB HDD, I didn't if this laptop uses a Sata or Ata, how connection?  I have also some recovery disks that I've done in the Recovery Manager can I use these discs to install the operating system on my new hard drive? and then use the product key for which the label is under my laptop? or is there any software where I can clone the old hard drive to the new

This model uses the Sata standard,

See page 98 of this PDF

Yes, install the new hard drive, and then boot from the recovery disc 1 to start the recovery. You do not need to use a product key with the recovery discs, it is preinstalled

In what year did you buy this laptop and which OS came with it? This weill help me point you to a few documents on the way to recovery this laptop.

If you buy a hard drive Western Digital brand, or your old is WD, they have a free cloning software, it will work if you have at least one brand WD hard drive is detected in the operating system, so if your old or new hard drive WD brand, it does not work, the WD drive must be connected to the computer at the time of the installation of the software.

Please provide the name of the operating system that your computer is running. Also provide the complete model of the new hard disk number or indicate if it is an 'Advanced Format' AF drive. Please see "identifying year Advanced Format hard drive"

If it's a record of AF, please see "preparing Advanced Format Hard Drive for Windows" and "improving the Performance of year Advanced Format hard drive" for more information on the subject and the possible steps to solve your problem.

My guess is that you have a hard drive AF and running Windows XP... XP can not support this drive that XP is not aware of the specification of the AF.

  • Cloning hard drive SSD - STARTUP FILES ARE GONE

So I recently bought an SSD to put in my computer with my current hard drive.  I used this tutorial: http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows to clone my hard drive of my ssd.  I was planning on just moving to the ssd (including my os) and then using my drive hard just store files on.  When I followed these steps, he created a "system reserved" disk (D :) on my computer.  I went into the bios and choose my SSD to boot from, but he said that he could not.  Thanks to some research I discovered that the system reserved player will often take startup files.  I was wondering if there is any way I could move the boot system files reserved my ssd drive.  I formatted my original hard drive yet so I think that the boot files should always be out there as well (?).  I have either a windows installation disc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use it and Chrome to get your version of win - 7 iso then you can ;)

  • Cloning hard drive, CC and Adobe Apps will work if I need to restore a clone?

Hi, I am currently setting up a new Mac and intend to install my Adobe Apps through creative cloud. Installing all my software can take a long time, when I have downloaded all my apps I want to make a backup image of the hard drive of my Mac on a USB drive to give me an option to quickly restore a pure install my snack programs nothing is ever bad. My Adobe apps still work with that or they will stop working if I ever need to restore my clone image?

Migration of Mac with Time Machine DO NOT WORK with the Cloud program activations due to hidden files... you will need to do a fresh install

I don't know if a program not Apple will work

For my windows machine, the product that I use is http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm

Image streams a via Linux bootable CD (the Zip that you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the disk, even the information hidden, so everything is restored when necessary... and you can restore a disk image new in case of crash and no duty re - install anything

Click on the link and see if the Zip file includes a routine to create a bootable CD that will run on a Mac to make the CD

  • The wrongly cloned HARD drive recovery

    Hello everyone,

Instead of using a third-party cloning software, I tried to clone my drive with disk utility. After restart my laptop, I went into recovery by using the command-R and used disk utility menu in this menu. However, I accidentally chose the empty as the source disk Hd and the Macintosh Hd as the destination. I started the process, but in 10 seconds my laptop over cloning. Now I have two empty disks. I tried to restart my system but my whole data were missing. I stopped using it and immediately deleted. Is it possible to restore my drive? I tried 3 data rescue, but my whole files in over 26 thousand records without name. It is very difficult to sort and on top of that, I have really no idea about the collection again correctly my archives 'Photos '. Is there anyone who had this experience? What should I do? Not all recovery software of this kind of recovery with thousands of anonymous records?

Now, I run my middle 2012 non-retine Macbook Pro 15 "with a new Hd I use El Capitan 10.11.5, if that's important. And also the other drive that I deleted in a box for external drive.

There is also a thing. It's really very easy to delete our internal drives. Just restart your computer, then press command-r to start the recovery mode. You can clone an empty drive to your home without any problem. Utility disk never asked me my password before cloning. Attackers can erase your data all in 10 seconds. It's really disappointing. I admit it's my mistake, but it does not that much easy to delete my entire drive.

Thanks in advance and I hope that Apple can solve the problem and may make it difficult to erase drive in recovery mode.

Apple not to specialize in data recovery, they will probably refer you to someone else.

  • Advice on hard drive recovery, 301 error

    Hi all

I have a PC HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1170d which is about 2.5 years or older. The specifications are:

Intel Core i5 2500 with 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB SATA hard disk. I recently installed a graphics card Radeon HD6670 as the original card gave problems. I've also upgraded to a Cooler Master 500W power supply.

Other details of my PC are listed here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02991104

Recently, I have known failure linked with the hard disk, indicating error 301. I managed to collect enough (somehow) hard drive and now able to Microsoft to start up and run error checking tool. But I know I'll have to replace it because it's a matter of time before the disk dies hard completely.

Before I go and buy a replacement hard drive, I hope that I might know the following:

    1. I don't know what version of SATA is my PC using. Can I just specify I want a SATA hard drive and not worry about their version of the SATA?

    2. What is the best way to replace the hard drive from the software point of view? Can I make a copy of the image of my current hard drive, if yes, what is the best way to do it? Sorry, I didn't do this before if you need to ask this fundamental question. It would make sense to connect the new hard drive and then do the image?

Thank you very much for any help!

    smtan

    Hi smtan,

A SATA III, disc 6 GB data transfer rates will work.

Your PC model introduced by HP in 2011. He may have SATA II, but a disk SATA III will be backward compatible. If this is true, you will be limited to 3 GB transfer speeds.

Another consideration is the size of the HARD drive. You should probably limit the size of 2 TB HARD drive replacement. Your PC probably has a legacy BIOS and your HP Recovery disks may not work on a greater than 2 TB HARD drive.

You have a few choices on moving or installing Win 7 on your new HARD drive.

You can clone the existing installation from disc HARD original for HARD drive replacement. You will need to use either: free disk imaging software or buy this software. I heard good things about Macrium Reflect free and free EaseUS.

You can GOOGLE for other choices.

Install the disk imaging/software on the source of cloning HARD drive. Install the new disk on your PC.

Start the cloning software and follow the instructions on the operating system for the new HARD drive cloning.

See this article for instructions on cloning from one HARD disk to another.

This article may interest you. Consider buying a replacement SSD. The increase in performance is amazing. Many SSD manufacturers provide software cloning for the purchase. You can also buy the version of the office. This includes an adapter 3.5 inches for the installation of the SSD to 2.5 inches in the HARD drive cage.

There is a downside if you go SSD. Your HP recovery disks may not work because the replacement SSD will be less than 1 TB. There are ways around this. Please see this forum post on the installation of Win 7 without a disk. Let me know if you are interested.

  • How the value catalog new internal hard drive more and then delete the files from the smallest

I just got a new 1 TB internal on cloned hard drive 500 GB internal hard drive installed on my PC, then the smaller original. The new 1 TB is now Local Dick C and the smallest 500 GB by C has been changed and is now Local Disk F. PSE11 runs from the new C and all my photos are on C and F, but the catalog showed up at F. I want to delete all the old files on F for free space because they are all cloned to the new 1 TB C, so I want to catalog PSE11 only point to the pictures on C I tried to create a new catalog and import my pictures from C. The images arrive and look tuned to C but when I close PSE11 and then reopen this new catalogue, the path of the image shows F, as does the original catalogue. So, now, I have two catalogs seem to point to F but I want: 1) have a single catalog pointing to C; (2) deleting catalogs pointing to F; (3) then reformat f: so I have a 500 GB clean old hard drive for future expansion. Peuvent some please help?

The problem is related to the cloning process.

As stated in the first post of Neale, the Organizer acknowledges readers by their letter AND their serial number. In these situations, both drives have the same serial number and the Organizer cannot tell who is who...

More information in the help file on John R Ellis from his psedbtool:

    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/#_Writing_File_Metadata

Scroll down to: "change the serial number of the drive, a Volume."

Check first with the DOS command 'Flight' that both disks have the same volume id, and then try to change one of the drives serial.

  • After the backup hard drive cloning ARD launch

OS: 10.11.6 (issue which happened on 10.11.5; update today to see if this helped)

Recently, I reformatted my hard drive to correct some wacky partitioning I played with and cloned my rear disc of a direct clone of CCC.  Also, I recreated my restoration, installation of Boot Camp and installed Windows partition.

Then, I went to launch the Office remotely and received the following error:

As a logical person, I uninstalled the application by following the steps here, reinstalled and restarted... to get the same error.

At this point, I have Google would be a bit and found mention of a permissions issue which was that other people having the same problem.  I checked my diary and here, I got the same errors:

The strict solution seems to be to delete this folder and recreate it.  First of all, I did this by connecting to the recovery partition and deleting the folder 'C' via the Terminal I didn't so not disable controls system integrity.  This resulting no change on a restart, even after do it again, uninstalling Remote Desktop, and then reinstall.

Then I disabled the system integrity (csrutil disable) in recovery and started to remove it when it is started.  I ran across the same as hoops above because it does not work all the time.

I even went away so crazy just now as to delete the folder of higher level instead of just the subfolder 'C '.  That no longer works.  I changed the permissions on the folder to 777.  No change.  Changed the owner to my user account because he invites him for an administrator account.  No change.

I went to the ARD support page and tried to present a real ticket, but it turns out that the ARD is not in the list of software that you can file a ticket on.

I'm out of ideas.  No luck, can anyone provide some guidance?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem the first time, I don't have the link with a CCC clone, but this morning (after a clean install because of this problem), I cloned my boot on a new SSD drive and this issue comes up with the clone. I reboot the original disc and ARD works on original, CCC is causing the problem, I made several clones with previous systems without problems, so it's probably a mixture of Capitan/CCC/ARD pure problem.

I left a message of support to the CCC with a reference to your thread.

hope for solution too... for the first time in my life of Apple that a problem needs a new facility...

  • SSD HARD drive cloning

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows a quick and inexpensive way to clone my current hard drive to my new SSD.  The SSD, I is the EVO of 850 Samsung 250 GB internal 2.5 inch SATA III SSD flash disk. I thought that I could use as Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper cloning software to clone hard drive into a USB port, replace the hard drive with the new SSD and install Mac OS El Capitan (10.11.2), download Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper and transfer the files from the USB on the SSD.  If anyone has the best ways to go about this, I'd be more than happy to know.

    MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid-2012)

    OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

Storage: GB 439,61 498,88 GB free

Processor: Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz

I use external enclosures due to their flexibility.  I have a http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MSTG800U3K/, and there is a little cheaper that has only USB 3.0 http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MOTGS3U3/.  Exchange a number any 2.5 in. nu-readers through the enclosure.

Put the SSD inside, download CCC clone internally externally.

Download ElCapitan.  But install ForceQuit the execution of the European Community.  Now the twist I like, but others may disagree with... copy EC install to a place safe to use again if you need (install draws internal parts in the place of installation).  Then, run install EC to upgrade your clone.  Make sure that the clone/upgrade is running well.  THEN swap the drives.

I use my camera for several readers of clone, data/video players, test for OSXes new readers, etc.
