DLNA with BRAVIA KDL-40EX657 subtitles

Hello

I am playing the video using a DLNA server, but I can't seem to read subtitles. I tried different combinations of format of file/server, but nothing seems to work. Y at - it a medium/Media Server?

I tried the servers:

Vuze

Plex Media Server

iMedia share

Subtitles:

Embedded in the MP4 file

External SRT

As said, I can play the video

The server runs on a Mac computer.

I am located in Latin America (Colombia)

Subtitle (.srt file format) only is not supported by the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) server where will appear not when streaming videos.

  • Poor video quality using windows 7 "play to" with DLNA Sony Bravia KDL-40EX700

When I use the option "play to" in windows media player 12, everything works but the video streams on tv is of very poor quality!

Most of the time the video is not yet play full screen. When I first set all and used television to find the video file, it played in the perfect resolution and quality, but now it does not matter if I have the video on the TV or choose play... two ways I get bad video quality.

Are there settings for the streaming video quality in windows 7? I have the current firmware for tv update and tried on two different computers with the same bad results.

What can I do to fix this?

    Mr. Goetz,

There is nothing wrong with the drivers of your graphics card. The TV is one that makes the video file not the graphics card on your PC. The reason you have a bad video quality is the limited support of the multimedia formats that is supported by your TV. Generally, Sony's Bravia TVs have a limited set of media formats supported and for this reason, most of the time that the Play and Win7 will send transcoded versions of the video on television. Usually, the way Play works is the following:

-Play questions the TV for supported media formats

-If the TV supports the type of media you're trying to make, the Play sends native data flow to the TV. The quality will be provided by your video file.

-If the TV does not support the native format, the Win7 also offers versions of the same video file transcoded: MPEG-2 and WMV for versions.

-Play preffers to make reading possible at any time so he will choose a transcoded version if the native format is not supported. DLNA mandates support for MPEG NTSC or PAL MPEG formats, so this will be the common denominator.

I tested several Sony's Bravia televisions in the last years of the development of Play, and several times reading transcoded. I guess that this is the case for you as well. Unfortunately, nothing you can do, unless Sony decides to support your media file nativelly. To make things worse, the qulity of the transcoded version depends very much on the quality of native files (win7 transcode in a lower resolution than the native.) It will be not high-end). If the native file is HD content, the resolution of transcoded stream will be pretty good for a TV 40 ". If the stream resolution is SD or smaller than (usually flows that can be downloaded on BitTorrent), resolution transcoded will be less than that. On a big TV screen, it will be stretched and the quality will be very poor. More the native file resolution and the resolution of the TV, the bad will be your experience.

Therefore, could you please tell me what is your multimedia file type?

    Hope this helps

    Thank you very much

  • Sony bravia kdl 47w804a cannot view Arabic subtitles

    Hello

I just bought a new sony bravia kdl 47w804a

It's a great TV, but I just discovered that he can not play Arabic subtitles.

    English subtitles works very well.

in the case of Arabic subtitle, it is said:

    the subtitle is not found

    or

    It shows charchterss (?)

I tried all the options like putting the srt file in the same folder and with the same name

seal the srt file in the MP4 or MKV file

I also used windows-1256, utf-8 and other encodings charchter

    but everything failed

now it feels like I wasted my money on this TV, where I could by other brands with a lot less price and certainly support with real Arabic

Hello I have a Sony Bravia KDL - S2XBR9 55 "TV. Is available on this model Telivision Sony entertainment network. Appears as an update the firware, or it would be possible to push, already a lot of available Internet content?

    Hi Toyster,

Unfortunately, the XBR9 doesn't have the Sony entertainment network. SEN content is available on 2010 units and more. Sony SMPN100, SMPN200, NSZGT1 and NSZGS7 will have the content of SEN. You can connect these devices to the XBR9 TV with HDMI and you will be able to access the content of SEN.

  • BRAVIA KDL-32XBR4 of lines on the screen color

After owning my Sony Bravia KDL-32XBR4 for four years, the screen has become a complete set of rainbow of colored lines, which makes it non-visible.
I bought several Sony products, including TVs, in the past, according to their quality and maintenance in the long term and found this particular issue to be majorly get together. When I searched on the internet on the solutions to this problem, I found that many people have experienced the same problem on this model. The Amazon store indicates that 33% of the customers for this TV customer has had the same exact problem: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Bravia-XBR-K... 406 & sr = 1-1

I bought this TV Sony, KDL-32XBR4, for $1,400 and would like to be credited on a new Sony TV or have the current set by Sony without charge. It is a major problem with this model and the Sony should fix the problem. A TV should last longer than the four years that I used it. It was even longer than many other customers who saw their screens go to lines colored after only a few months or a few years.

  • Model of Sony BRAVIA KDL 42W700B cannot view photos and videos of the external USB hard drive!

    Hey Sony,

I recently bought the SONY BRAVIA KDL-42W700B model (http://www.sony.co.in/product/kdl-42w700b).

The TV is recently launched by Sony, which made me buy this model.

But the first day itself, I came across a problem with this model. I wanted to see some of my photos and videos, so I plugged my external USB drive (320 GB). I discovered this, he can not display my photos and videos in the directory view. He picked up any random photo/video to display from the hard drive.  In the thumbnail view, I could see of 27 items which were taken at random on the hard drive, and every time I connect it to the TV, I see some photos/videos at random that did not exist on the hard drive.

Among the Options, button, tried to switch to view folders, but it also did not help. Only a few cases were projected, and that too not in any order, a few files randomly were chosen who have entered.

Contacted the people at the showroom where I bought this TV and discovered that the problem was with this model ONLY. This model was taking too long (waiting at least a half hour load the photos and still did not get the pictures/videos in a correct view). They tested on various models (KDL-32W700B, KLV-40R452A, KDL-50W800B) and all these models supported the correct view and order, and he was also able to load the external hard drive fast enough.

Apart from this, the bluetooth pairing happens not on this model. It seems that there is a serious problem with this model.

In addition, contacted the people from sony who came to the demonstration and installation of the TV. Giving random answers to format the hard drive!

Could you please help me on this? It seems that this model of Sony is defective.

    Hi arjun1610!

  • Can I use my Bravia KDL 46nx720 overseas

We bought a Bravia KDL 46NX720 to the United States and are now living abroad.  It will work with a 220 V, without a transformer?  I don't want to cause Fireworks. Thank you

    Hello nkmitchell,

Thank you for your message. The power requirements of this model specifies that it must be used with an AC 120 v with a frequency of 60 Hz. So that you are able to use it for a power supply 220 v, it would be necessary to have a transformer that will provide the requirements to protect this device against electrical damage.
