The unwanted pop ups keep coming to the top.
Hi, I use a mac yosemite running on the note pro 10.10.5, book I have problems with safari 9.0.2 it keeps giving unwanted pop ups like mackeeper soft4updates and others. I tried to erase history, cookies from the Web site, but the problem persists because of which I can't access some important sites of my daily use. Is there a way to fix this?
Thank you
You may have installed adware. Try to run a scan with MalwareBytes: http://malwarebytes.org/antimalware/mac.

The pop ups were not on the old system and seems attached to some site I open, opening multi-site. I might have to stop usingFfirefox, if this is not fixed.
Hello jgibbs99, you could get deceived by a malicious Web site by downloading a fake update - a true firefox update will contain never this kind of noise you describe! Furthermore updates are managed in-house by firefox if you are asked to download and run a .exe file to update to firefox, it will be false (you can manually check the updates in firefox by going to firefox > help > about firefox).
Please, try the following steps:
- Reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
- then go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or of potentially unwanted software there (sort the programs installed for their installation date to see what he got recently installed).
- Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

How can I get rid of the ads and pop ups?
I have a lot of intrusive interference of pop ups sites and ads.
I was about to give up Firefox, but then saw the comment on the modules above. I checked and removed MySearchDial and Media Player 1.1 and video Player 1.1. Problem solved!
Thank you and watchout for these modules. -
'Vista Antispyware 2010 - unregistered Version' unwanted pop ups
Three windows continually dog pop up my computer and continues to re-pop-up after clicking on them. It asks me to upgrade to a fully paid-for version Vista Antispyware and that my computer is infected. The list of the infection continually changes and continues to pop up despite my continual cancellation. I tried to delete this using Windows Defender, but he advises simply buy Vista Antispyware too. By clicking on 'remove all' just takes me to a page "buy full version". I tried many different things but can't stop these pop ups! What should I do?

remove the ads and pop-up windows
What should I do if ads and pop ups don't stop posting on my safari and google chrome, I have the latest update of os x el capitan, most of them come on an empty space of OS im page he says by TurboMac and sometimes it redirect me to another page like mackeeper
Click here and follow the instructions, or if you do not delete rather manually the adware, launches MalwareBytes for Mac.
MalwareBytes simplifies the process of removal of adware, but does not stop it or other malware from entering the computer. It should not be invoked to prevent future incidents; Instead, avoid downloading software from sources other than the Mac App Store or Developer Web sites.

Randomly when I turn on firefox, go to a new page or open a new tab, I'll either get a full blown pop up (almost all of them are terrible, but one was actually a full TV episode that threw me for a loop. And it was a show I actually like) or I'll get a tiny bit add or video in the lower right corner. Most of the time, although VERY annoying, I can just close. But when it shows up when I'm watching something on Netflix, I have to refresh the page so that it get out. I trainer, but I still get popup and few ads like crazy. I ran malware and virus scans. But he found nothing. I don't want to reinstall firefox if possible because I don't want to copy my 50 bookmarks... something I can do? Help?
ArcadeCandy games is a provider known ad - you must get rid of this extension. In addition, the popup blocker blocks ads, an extension like Adblock Plus is used for this type of blocking.

How to remove the malicious software that is causing the pop up ads "to go around the web"? These pop ups appear on almost every page I open and I have bad non-kid-friendly images? Instructions from Apple to remove the malware have not removed despite them a number of times.
Click here and follow the instructions. If you would rather not remove it manually, you can run rather MalwareBytes for Mac.

I have the latest Firefox (18.0.2) on Mac 10.7.5. A few days ago I have updated with the latest Java (7_13) because we use software in my company that requires it.
Before the update, Firefox blocked two pop-up ads on the web site of my company (www.lawtechnologynews.com).
After the update, the pop - ups are is more blocked. I made sure that the blocker is always enabled and that our areas are not excluded.
Any ideas?
I realized that during my Java updates and Firefox, I somehow lost the Windows ad blocker extension. Reinstalled, and now it works fine.

I'm still be annoyed with the pop - ups constant. I like to use Firefox, but I switch to another browser if I can't get this resolved.
Try Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

How to stop the irritating pop ups on the web sites, I searched using Fire Fox? My simple solution is to switch to Internet Explorer, it does not occur when I use for example
This looks like a problem possibly caused by malicious software on your pc. Please go to firefox > addons > extensions and remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, the things that you have not installed intentionally, I don't know what purpose they serve, etc.). also, go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software you have in place and various other tools such as the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.
Remove a toolbar that has supported your Firefox or the homepage search
