Do I really need these updates before installing SP2?

I've had this laptop in December 2009. It came with Vista Home Premium SP1 on it. I have installed all the updates since I got except the three following:
Compatibility of Microsoft Office Service Pack 2 SP2 35.5 MB
Office Genuine Advantage Notifications (KB949810) 712KB
Power Point Viewer 2007 Service Pack 2 SP2 34.2 MB
I have already installed the update SP1 for MS Office Compatibility and Power Point Viewer, and this laptop has even no MS Office on this subject. I know that the SP2 for Vista is available, and if I hide 3 updates listed above, the SP2 update displays in the available updates window, so I know system is prepared to consider, but it will not be displayed until these "major updates" are shown but not installed. I intend to download the SP2 stand alone package and installing it from a clean boot, but do I really need to install updates three listed above?

  • Where can I find the version number of the ios 9.3 update before installing?

Where can I find the version number of an ios update before installing?

You can not. I would like to know as well. The current building is displayed in settings > general > all. When the phone offers you an update, it does not display the new version. One could assume that it is the latest available at that time, which at present is 13E237, but to my knowledge does not appear before the update.

  • Windows Vista will not install new updates after installing SP2

Hi, I have a problem with the update of my windows. It started after a fact a factory reset. Here's the history:

I have a some what old laptop (8 years). It came with a Vista installed with service pack 1 installed at the factory. Over the years, I did a few factory resets (every 2-3 years). I never had problems up to now. What is happening now is that I can not exceed SP2. I tried two different ways, none of them worked. After the reset, I first uninstall a bunch of stupid programs that came with the laptop, and then defragment and then have two ways to proceed. I tried to use windows update, installed more than 100 updates, updates install held until finally I offered service Pack2, installed successfully but then no more updates were offered. Then I tried a different approach - a new reset, uninstall, Defrag, and then downloaded and installed SP2 directly from the Download Center. And again the same thing happens. From the SP2 installation I check updates, download the new update agent and nothing happens after that. He keeps looking for new updates all day (about 50% of the processor by using all the time).

I read some articles and discussions but could not find anyone with the same problem (most of the users reported some error codes which is something I can't do). I tried the fix tool - it does nothing! Whenever I run it, it is mistakes - sometimes 2, sometimes up to 5. Sometimes, it makes account all fixed, other times that it reports missing or corrupt files do not set. Whatever the results if I restart and when I try to check for updates again it is still the same story.

Also I tried to install it manually IE9 as soon as SP2 is installed (I understand that this is not supported under SP1) but the installation fails. I expected to be available in updates, but as I don't get updates I tried to install it myself. Not sure if it's related (although I guess it is), but the Defender is not able to verify new definitions either.

Any suggestions? Maybe the registry is damaged or some of the files using the update agent is are corrupt? There are currently no antivirus program installed that could block whatever it is. I haven't touched Windows Firewall somehow everything must therefore be attributed to the default values.

You understand is that? I came across exactly the same problem... restoration of an old book to give to a family member, and every time I came to the point of installing SP2 and a more recent windows update agent just after, I couldn't install more updates. It would block 'check updates' forever. Tried twice, same problem. However, I tried some things differently the third time and exceeded the question.

Let me know if you still need help, and I will respond with what I've done.

  • Is there a utility to validate the windows updates before installing Oracle EMP?

    Gurus,

Do we not have any utility provided by Oracle that would validate if all specific to Microsoft Windows updates / patches for Microsoft SQL Server database etc are installed on the server before you start the installation of EMP?

There are third party tools that can check if windows updates and the SQL database patches have been applied, but I am curious to know if there is a utility provided by Oracle to do?

The only utility of Oracle will be the GDR, if you want to find out more have a look at the following support doc - 'Enterprise Performance Management 11.1.2 Client GDR Preinstall Health Check (HCVE) [video] (Doc ID 1435695.1)'

  • new Win7-recognized my printer - I need to unplug before installing the software? psc1315xi

I upgraded from XP to Win7 and connected the printer recognized by Windows psc1315xi. However, many features is not activated and the eligible print margins are driving me crazy (won't let me print the narrow margins) if I want to install the software. I have to disconnect the printer first? -I remember the Quick Start Guide not mentioning the printer until you are instructed to do so, but if the computer already 'knows' about the printer, is this topic? I still have the CD and guide original.

Yes, the printer must be offline.

Then, insert the Cd and start the installation.

Do not forget that the original disc does not supported Win7. Therefore, check that first. The drivers for your printer can be downloaded from here

  • Update before installing?

My current system: Windows XP Home Edition, Pentium D CPU 3.20 Ghz, 2.00 GB of RAM

Questions: First Elements 9 allows multiple users? If I install first Elements 9 and my computer turns out to be insufficient, I'll be able to install again after the upgrade to Windows 7 [or the purchase of a new computer entirely]?

    Thank you.

You can install Premiere Elements on two machines: If you have two computers.

You can also disable this feature on a computer and install it on another computer.

However, it is not likely to work well on that Pentium. In my books, I recommend at least a dual core 2.6 ghz for miniDV editing and a quad core or i7 for editing AVCHD and hi-def video.

  • I can't get to Yosemite... and I REALLY need. Help!

    Hello

So I have a Mac Pro running 10.8.5 and I really need to update to Yosemite. Because I use a lot of hardware and software Audio Pro, I can never run because of instability the last OS X / incompatibility issues. My version of Pro Tools HD still does not support El Capitan at all, so even if the next operating system is about to be released, I can't yet day to the current version.

I have Yosemite in my list of "Bought" from the App Store, because if I updated it before, it would have made my system useless. I also have a MacBook Pro that has been bundled with Yosemite, but may not work on a way to be able to install this OS on the desktop computer. I even created an external drive using the recovery mode, then together drive as boot on the office recovery mode drive, entered trying to install anywhere on the desktop, but after that I have put in my Apple ID at the beginning of the install said 'article temporarily unavailable' or something to that effect.

It took me 15 hours just to make this recovery disk because my internet is so slow here, and I even nowhere more closely for Yosemite on my Mac Pro. So I'm pulling my hair out here... hoping someone has an answer as to how I can get Yosemite on my machine?

    Would appreciate ideas, people have!

    Thank you

You can try asking at an Apple Retail Store or an Apple authorized repair store.

I hear ya.  What I can say is be patient, great days patching, it takes a day to validate fully all the KB articles.

I wouldn't be so eager to update immediately.

  • Uninstall before installing the CS6 Design Std.

I currently activated the trial versions of Photoshop CS6, CS6 ID and Illustrator CS6. I have disabled PS (I have a separate license only app for that). ID and Illustrator are activated through my creative cloud subscription.  I decided to buy CS6 Design Standard. Do I need to uninstall Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign before installing the standard CS6 downloads?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello

Even if you already have these (photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator) software installed on your system, however, you will still need to uninstall these applications before installing Design Standard on the same computer, because the installer for the product Suite and standalone are different.

    Thank you
