do not open the photos transferred on photo backup

I saved my library on my backiup disk and put them on a new computer - immediate Photos migrate them, but when I got the drive backup with these photos I can't access now these photos on any computer?  They were not saved on my new computer and the backup drive shows them migration and unopenable.  What can I do?

I'm under El Capitan and Photos 1.3

It is not exactly what you did - but when you migrate a library the migrated library is on the same drive as the original library - best guess is that, probably, you will need to drag the shape of library of Photos JEP on the internal HD

  • Could not open the Photos after Snow Leopard update to El Capitan

I have an iMac 3.06 GHz, which has been updated to El Capitan on January 15. Most of the things were going well with the transition, but it seems to be "stuck" now between iPhoto and photo - I don't know how else to put it, but I can't open the Photos. When I click on it in the Dock, I get the attached screenshot. It has been like that for several years I did the update to El Capitan. At first, it seemed that iPhoto has been migrated correctly to Photos during the update. But then, after clicking on my backup external to iPhoto, it appeared that if the migration process began all over again.  I now have the image shown on the attached screenshot. He's been stuck on '50% complete' for several days. When I try to stop the Photos I get: "Can't leave the Photos when creating or opening a library."

After doing some checks for similar problems in previous posts, I was clued in to take a look at my Applications folder. And here, it lists the following multiple iPhoto libraries:

iPhoto Library... January 15, 2016 (Date last opened)

    iPhoto Library - old... January 15, 2016.

    iPhoto Library - old... January 29, 2016.

    iPhoto Library - old... November 26, 2015.

    iPhoto Library... November 25, 2016.

Clearly - even for me! -something is all fucked up here

There is no attached screenshots - to attach a picture click on the camera icon in the top bar of the new message window

What format is the external hard drive? Is this a Time Machine backup or EHD are used by TM? How the EHD are connected to your Mac?

And you should not have iPhoto (or pictures) libraries in your applications folder - they should be in your pictures folder

One thing to try is force quit Photos (File menu ==> force quit), and then drag the iPhoto library you want to migrate the Photos icon in the Dock (if it is in an appropriate place on an appropriate disk)

  • Could not open the photos restored from a backup

I can't open the photos restored from an external hard drive.  Error message says I don't have permission to do so.  I have check everything that I can think of and I am also the administrator of the computer.  Can anyone help?  I spent at least eight hours trying to solve this problem.

Have you thought to take possession of the files?

Check the permissions of the file or the folder that the file is saved in. Here's how:

Right-click on the file or folder and then click Properties.

    Click the Security tab.

Under group or user names, click your name to see the permissions you have.

To open a file, you must have the read permission. For more information on permissions, see permissions are?

  • Could not open the photos

I just tried to open the application 'Photos' (or icon) on my Mac and received a message that says "Photos could not find the system 'photos library.photoslibrary' how can I do to recover it?  I have about 10,000 photos which are lost!   I run a separate hard disk as a time machine which is connected permanently, but I've never had to use it before.  Any help would be appreciated.   Mike George

What happened, until you got this error message?  Did you update or upgrade software?  Move your photo library to another drive?  You run applications of cleaning?

By default, your photo library should be called Photos Library.photoslibrary and be in your pictures in your folder folder, unless you have moved elsewhere.  Check your pictures folder, if the library is still there.

If you have kept the library on an external drive, make sure that the disc is mounted and connected locally, not a network drive.  Photos cannot open a library on a hard disk that is used by time Machine.

What version of Mac OS X and Photos do you currently use?

  • Could not open the photos attached to e-mails in Outlook Express

I can't open a picture attachment in Outlook Express. The message is: "this file does not have a program associated with it execute this action.» Create an association in the folders Option Control Panel ". I don't know what to do in the records of the control panel Option. Can someone help me please?

I use Outlook Express 6. Internet Explorer 8. XP Professional.

Recently I had to reinstall my hard drive. I could open pictures in messages before today.

    Thanks in advance...

    Stefanie Kott

With XP, Windows images and faxes is the default viewer for photos. Create a file association.

    1. download and save the attachment to the office.
    2. right click on the saved file.
    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.
    5. Select: Images of Windows and Fax Viewer.
    6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
    7. click on OK.

This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.
  • The visible but the pictures can not open the photo in "Photos".

I just realized that some of my photos are visible as thumbnails on my Mac, but I can't double click to view. Just a blank screen. Most of them seem to be more old photos, but it seems fairly random. I am under the last El Capitan, and all software are up to date. I ran a repair on the library, and nothing has changed.

    Suggestions?

    Thank you

What has changed since things worked? Do you have 'cleaned' your disk by removing pictures using the finder or nasty as CleanMyMac or MacKeeper software (never do this)?

  • Windows Photo Gallery does not open the zipped files

Photo Gallery Windows does not open the photos that are in the zipped files received by Email. He said: Photo Gallery can't open this photo or video. This file format is not supported, or you do not have the latest updates to the photo gallery.

    This is expected behavior...

Unzip the file and open the uncompressed version. Or just open
the zip files and do drag the photos on the zip file and
drop in a new folder.then you can open.

  • Pictures are not in the photo gallery

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.
