Do not Sycnhronize on a XP offline files

Hi everyone, sorry for this old topic... but hope you can help... Yes, I'm still working on an XP machine.

For some reason, I need to redo our GPO and tried to re-create a GPO so that the laptop can synchronize offline files with 'My Documents' for a mobile specific and the user. Before this new GPO, the user was able to sync the same folder without any problem. Wick for a reason that I removed and remove the old GPO. So now I need to reset upward.
Now when I tried to connect the laptop to the network, I have only seen the sync happens only once, and synchronization also came with "Access Denied" errors after a few hours... and the synchronization has failed of course. When I disconnect the laptop computer, the My Documents folder is always empty (with all subfolders, but there is no content!)
I know that the user cannot manipulate the features offline synchronization... and here are the GPO settings, that I set:
-Models of administration - computer network/Offline Files configuration
-Action on server disconnect - enabled, Action is "work offline".
-Allow or prohibit the use of offline - enabled features
-Encrypt the Cache of offline - enabled files
-Prevent the use of the offline files folder - activated
-Ban the user files offline - enabled configuration
-Remove "make available offline" - enabled
Sub-always available offline - enabled folders
-Synchronize all offline files before you end the session - enabled
-Synchronize all offline files when logging on - active
-Synchronize offline files before suspension - enabled, the type of Action, COMPLETE
     System/user profiles
-Copies of delete cached roaming profiles - disabled
N ' allow only local user profiles - activated
-Prevent roaming profile changes from spreading to the sever - active
Configurations of users - Windows Settings - folder redirection-
I did the path for the user who is the path: \\fileserver\User$\%Useranme%\My Documents. And the user has read to the ' user or users $' root folder.
-Administrative Templates - files network/off line
-Action on server disconnect - enabled, Action is "work offline".
-Administratively assigned offline files - activated
-Files and folders, Documents \\fileserver\User$\%Useranme%\My
-Prevent the use of the offline files folder - activated
-Ban the user files offline - enabled configuration
-Synchronize all offline files before you end the session - enabled
-Synchronize all offline files when logging on - active
-Synchronize offline files before suspension - enabled, the type of Action, COMPLETE
-Disable the balloon reminder - disabled
-Do not automatically make redirected folders available offline - disabled.
May I ask how to do the sync properly? And also... How initial sync (again once, the user doesn't have the right to manipulate sync settings?
Any ideas would be great! Thank you very much for your help

  • Portege R500 with XP: server offline files do not work

I have a strange problem with a brand new R500 with XP installed. Offline files does not work: I can copy files to the bottom of servers, but when I try to backup, I get an error

"(XXX YYY) offline files: ZZZ is denied on ZZZ."

where XXX is a samba share or a normal windows share. I have all the permissions to access these files and can change them if I go online without synchronizing offline changes.

I would like to ask this on the XP Group, but I have + never seen this on any other cell phones I've used (including the Toshiba). These servers offline files still works for me on a laptop more old (XP to date), by using the same account and the same details using the roaming profile. Its also not related to any of the standard Offline files of the problems that have appeared on the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

We can test - this issue seems to be specific to this laptop, and if I can't use offline files, the machine is practically useless for me (modulo paying and then assigning an equivalent piece of software).

Should I try to uninstall TrueSuite for example?

  • In Windows 7 offline files will not activate

I have a very frustrating issue with one of our laptops, for which I can't find a solution anywhere:
This is a brand new laptop, and the last thing I want to do it after construction, it is to offer the user's network share offline.  I did it before on several other Windows 7 machines on our network with no problems.
However, when I try to activate offline files (from Sync Center, manage offline files), I get the message "offline files is enabled, but not yet active."  Rstart this computer to activate offline files. "I rebooted several times, but the same message every time.
I tried to disable, restart then the reactivation and reboot.  Same result.
I tried to look at the GPO settings to check that it doesn't stop there, what is not.
I've changed a registry key that forces a rebuild of database synchronization.  No change.
Someone at - it clues about where to look next?

Had already read these documents, but they do not address the issue, I had.  However, I found this answer worked:

    1. disable Offline Files (Panel\All Control Panel Items\Sync control center), click on 'manage offline files' then click on disable.
    2. restart the computer
    3. delete the folder (C:/Windows/CSC) CSC.  NOTE: you may need to change the permissions on the folder of the CCS to do this, and once this is done, you must delete all the folders in the first CSC folder (beginning with the farthest in and work your way), because the system, you cannot delete a folder that still has nothing on the inside.  Once you have all the files in the CSC folder deleted, delete the folder CSC itself.
    4 enable offline files.
5 restart the computer.  The CSC folder - with its parameters by default, etc., will be rebuilt now and when right click on a network folder, the 'always available offline' option should appear.

  • Offline files indexed are not displayed in search results

I've recently updated my PC and now have Windows 7. I want to be able to search for files on a PC on a network (Windows XP).

I set the folders as "always available offline" and rebuilt the index, but when I search the offline files do not appear in the results.

I did the same configuration on another new PC on my network and research shows the offline files. So, I don't think that there is a problem with the settings on the XP PC.

I hope I missed something obvious, any ideas appreciated.

How does outward indexing? If you are having problems with the search, such as unusually slow searches or incomplete search results, run the troubleshooter of search and indexing to see if he can diagnose the problem.

    ·         Open the troubleshooter of search and indexing by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type Troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Click view all, and then click on Search and indexing.

Depending on the severity of the problem, the resolution of the problems of search and indexing may have to restart the Windows Search service.

  • offline files: network is not reachable by car after you enable the folder in offline mode

I currently use off record quite a lot and have no problem as long as sharing network, on which records are is in the same place, I'm and network connectivity is several GB. When I choose a folder on a \\partagereseau hosted in another place, with less bandwidth and latency, the following events occur: 1) I mark a folder on the network share as 'always available offline' Sync 2) begins, and the entire folder disappears from the browser view only the folder synchronized with success is still visible. After Reboot: P1) when I'm offline only the folder snchronized is visible under the drive letter, nothing else (another where sync worked folder is not available offline are grayed out, have an 'X' on them, and are not accessible) P2) when I'm online I can see the folder structure one level below the drive letter , but all files offline. When I try to go to one, I get a message: "this file is currentry not available on this computer." There is no other way to access the network broken still share more: offline files) 1 turn off completely 2) reformatting of CSC (instructions how to add the key Reg necessary are in this forum) which means I have to then re - sync all folders that are functioning normally.

  • Satellite A50-532: synchronization /-offline files

    Hello

I am using a Satellite A50-532 and I want to make the files available locally / offline that are stored on a server. I used to use the XP build-in functionality of offline files with my old laptop which worked without any problems. Unfortunately what it does not work with the Toshiba that I can't see the data on the server in the tree in the window "synchronization". "." Right click on the "Make available offline" menu is not offered by XP. I have already disabled the "fast user switching" as suggested by MS. Firewall and network problems may also be excluded.

    Can anyone help?

You have configured your Toshiba laptop to use offline files?

If this isn't the case, you can set it up on this path:

Click Start and then click my computer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
Select the enable offline files check box, and then click OK.

  • Help! My original disk offline files are copied in my reader users when I log on their machine!

I have users who use the offline files feature so that they can work on files of network when the network.  After using my credential and working on a user's computer yesterday, copies of my files from home drive now appears in the user drive home.  Of course, this is not acceptable.  It could reveal sensitive or confidential information to the wrong person.

Can someone tell me how this can happen?  The offline files cache should not be shared between different users of the same machine, right?  I connect in machines of so many people while ensuring support and cannot have copied my personal files in the home directories of others.  FYI, remap us the My Documents shortcut to the user's home or the H: drive.

What can I do to prevent that from happening again?

  • Cannot reconnect to the drive mapped with the offline files

We have Vista Business SP2.  We written that makes some of their files on a network share available offline.  They close their machines and take them away and use not connected to the network and then to arrest them.  Back at his office, startup and reconnecting to the network, their network drives appear offline.  Clicking on returning their online status unless they have offline files, then no amount of clicking, fiddling, disconnection and reconnection, or anything else we might think will persuade the reader to come online.  How force us the computer to notice of the network to share?

  • purge of a partnership of stale synchronization and offline files

Ok..  I connected on the one hand and selected 'make available offline '.  now, the server and share no longer exist and the sync partnership is still there and I can't seem to remove and delete the files.

How can I get rid of this thing?

    Thank you

    Stone

    Hello Roman stone.

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

It seems that you can not delete a sync partnership until you have resolved all the differences.

If you select each gap and fix it is remove the copy local or remote, you can
Select share, then uncheck the sync option.

    Please, try the following steps:

    1 - Panel-> offline files-> "disable offline files."

2 - Click on "view your offline files.

3 remove the folders, and you no longer want to synchronize of mapped drives. If the mapped drives are not removed,
Then go into Windows Explorer or 'Computer' select Explorer and right-click on the mapped network drive and
    Select "disconnect".

4 - go back to the offline files window, and then click OK

    5 - restart the computer

    6 - Panel of-> offline files-> 'enable offline files '.

Please let me know if these measures have helped to solve your problem or if you need further assistance.

    Sincerely,

  • Fix offline files: cannot display the partnerships

I redirected files offline on a different partition.  That has worked well for several months.  Something appears to be damaged. I can't look at partnerships.   When I try to sync, the process fails.  If I disable offline files, it says I have to restart to complete the process.  When I reboot, I get a blue screen on startup.  If I try the auto repair, which fails and indicates a required device is not available.  I recovered from a current backup.  I need to know what to do to just destroy all the stuff of offline file so I can restore it.  I am a tech computer and comfortable editing the registry.  BTW, I am running Vista Ultimate 32 - bit with all updates applied.

    Hello

    ·        You get an error message when the synchronization process fails?

    ·        What was the Blue error screen that you got you to restart the computer to complete the deactivation process?

You can try to remove the sync partnership and add it back.  Who can get things working again.  See the following link on how to put an end to partnerships, then in the section above, how to create them.
