Satellite A50-532: synchronization /-offline files

Hello

I am using a Satellite A50-532 and I want to make the files available locally / offline that are stored on a server. I used to use the XP build-in functionality of offline files with my old laptop which worked without any problems. Unfortunately what it does not work with the Toshiba that I can't see the data on the server in the tree in the window "synchronization". "." Right click on the "Make available offline" menu is not offered by XP. I have already disabled the "fast user switching" as suggested by MS. Firewall and network problems may also be excluded.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,
tobi77

Hello

You have configured your Toshiba laptop to use offline files?

If this isn't the case, you can set it up on this path:

Click Start and then click my computer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
Select the enable offline files check box, and then click OK.

I hope this will help you. Useful article, you will find under http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307853/en-us

Good bye

  • Cannot synchronize offline files

I created a link to a shared NAS drive.  I then made the folders and files always available, so I could map a network drive in the folder.

I then moved the data from the shared folder on another drive and I can't sync my files.  So, I have a bunch of 'offline' files modified that I need to synchronize, but can't.

I moved the folder to its original location and I tried to sync, but the sync never starts.

Is that what I can do to restore the offline sync to a new location or get somehow the files offline to which they belong?

    Thank you!

You don't have to make the files available offline to map a network drive letter.  Just make it available offline if you want to include in a library.

But in any case, I would go in Sync Center in sync failures and remove them all (all errors) and then configure the new offline folder by right-clicking and choosing 'always available offline '.

  • Do not Sycnhronize on a XP offline files

Hi everyone, sorry for this old topic... but hope you can help... Yes, I'm still working on an XP machine.

For some reason, I need to redo our GPO and tried to re-create a GPO so that the laptop can synchronize offline files with 'My Documents' for a mobile specific and the user. Before this new GPO, the user was able to sync the same folder without any problem. Wick for a reason that I removed and remove the old GPO. So now I need to reset upward.
Now when I tried to connect the laptop to the network, I have only seen the sync happens only once, and synchronization also came with "Access Denied" errors after a few hours... and the synchronization has failed of course. When I disconnect the laptop computer, the My Documents folder is always empty (with all subfolders, but there is no content!)
I know that the user cannot manipulate the features offline synchronization... and here are the GPO settings, that I set:
-Models of administration - computer network/Offline Files configuration
-Action on server disconnect - enabled, Action is "work offline".
-Allow or prohibit the use of offline - enabled features
-Encrypt the Cache of offline - enabled files
-Prevent the use of the offline files folder - activated
-Ban the user files offline - enabled configuration
-Remove "make available offline" - enabled
Sub-always available offline - enabled folders
-Synchronize all offline files before you end the session - enabled
-Synchronize all offline files when logging on - active
-Synchronize offline files before suspension - enabled, the type of Action, COMPLETE
         System/user profiles
-Copies of delete cached roaming profiles - disabled
N ' allow only local user profiles - activated
-Prevent roaming profile changes from spreading to the sever - active
Configurations of users - Windows Settings - folder redirection-
I did the path for the user who is the path: \\fileserver\User$\%Useranme%\My Documents. And the user has read to the ' user or users $' root folder.
-Administrative Templates - files network/off line
-Action on server disconnect - enabled, Action is "work offline".
-Administratively assigned offline files - activated
    -Files and folders, Documents \\fileserver\User$\%Useranme%\My
-Prevent the use of the offline files folder - activated
-Ban the user files offline - enabled configuration
-Synchronize all offline files before you end the session - enabled
-Synchronize all offline files when logging on - active
-Synchronize offline files before suspension - enabled, the type of Action, COMPLETE
-Disable the balloon reminder - disabled
-Do not automatically make redirected folders available offline - disabled.
May I ask how to do the sync properly? And also... How initial sync (again once, the user doesn't have the right to manipulate sync settings?
Any ideas would be great! Thank you very much for your help

  • Sync Center gets stuck saying "pending sync", never synchronizes the files on the shared folder offline

    Hello

I have a laptop (Compaq 8440) running Windows Vista Enterprise (not yet upgraded to SP1).  I have a shared folder mapped to the N: drive on my laptop.  This shared folder is located on a computer on my home network.  Every day, I move my laptop between my home network (wireless) and my work network (cable intranet).

I scored a subfolder in the shared folder available offline.  It worked for about two weeks, but now when I try to synchronize with the shared folder offline files, Sync Center has constantly "waiting for synchronization" status  He never goes out with synchronization, regardless how long wait.

I tried clicking "stop"button in Sync Center, but this does not prevent the synchronization.  I do not see error messages or the situation in Sync Center.

I tried to restart the laptop, but nothing helped.  I tried to disable/reactivate the wireless connection, but nothing helped.  I can connect to the shared folder and discovers the other directories that are not 'available offline", is not a connectivity problem.

    Thank you
    Jason Fritz

    Hi Jason,

You can try to remove the sync partnership and add it back.  Who can get things working again.  See the following link on how to put an end to partnerships, then in the section above, how to create them.

  • purge of a partnership of stale synchronization and offline files

Ok..  I connected on the one hand and selected 'make available offline '.  now, the server and share no longer exist and the sync partnership is still there and I can't seem to remove and delete the files.

How can I get rid of this thing?

    Thank you

    Stone

    Hello Roman stone.

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

It seems that you can not delete a sync partnership until you have resolved all the differences.

If you select each gap and fix it is remove the copy local or remote, you can
Select share, then uncheck the sync option.

    Please, try the following steps:

    1 - Panel-> offline files-> "disable offline files."

2 - Click on "view your offline files.

3 remove the folders, and you no longer want to synchronize of mapped drives. If the mapped drives are not removed,
Then go into Windows Explorer or 'Computer' select Explorer and right-click on the mapped network drive and
    Select "disconnect".

4 - go back to the offline files window, and then click OK

    5 - restart the computer

    6 - Panel of-> offline files-> 'enable offline files '.

Please let me know if these measures have helped to solve your problem or if you need further assistance.

    Sincerely,

    Marilyn

I need a solution for the problem below.  I have seen that other people have experienced the same problem but I couldn't find a solution.

I've set up a GPO that synchronizes user files to a network, for example, the My Documents folder location.  The client machine is running W7 Pro x 64.  Assume that the primary user of the machine is user1.

    Hello

one of my friends has a brand-new Satellite A50-402 and he asked me to help him with the installation of XP Prof

We have not had any problems, but we did a complete new installation of XP Prof. It was after a large number of question marks in the device, but with the Update Manager the drivers of toshiba homepage, it works very well!

Could you also do a complete new installation of XP teacher because it is important to install the drivers and QFE patches... in the right order! With an upgrade to XP Prof this order could be choppy confused!

You can find this order installation on the CD tools & utilities. When the CD starts a html site opens and shows you all of the necessary drivers in order!

So I hope this will help you!
