Help! My original disk offline files are copied in my reader users when I log on their machine!
I have users who use the offline files feature so that they can work on files of network when the network. After using my credential and working on a user's computer yesterday, copies of my files from home drive now appears in the user drive home. Of course, this is not acceptable. It could reveal sensitive or confidential information to the wrong person.
Can someone tell me how this can happen? The offline files cache should not be shared between different users of the same machine, right? I connect in machines of so many people while ensuring support and cannot have copied my personal files in the home directories of others. FYI, remap us the My Documents shortcut to the user's home or the H: drive.
What can I do to prevent that from happening again?
Hi IT_John,
Work on a domain network?
The offline files cache should not be shared between different users of the same machine, right? Yes, as long as it is configured correctly, you can check the steps mentioned in the link below

Portege 3440CT freezes after some time while the files are copied
Hello all :)
It seems that I have the same problem as missred in this thread http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=19232 (bottom). Unfortunately I can't answer it this is why I am writing here. The version of my laptop is 3440CT.
My test was to make a win98 HD bootable with directory i386 on it, the start of this drive and run the Setup with winnt.exe. OK, it works, but while the files are copied after awhile it just hangs. I tried with a partition and i386 on the active system partition and with two partitions and i386 on another non-system partition. I don't have floppy or CD for the laptop drive.
Any ideas what's happening? Is it possible to install XP on the same disk, installing XP is started from?
Can't wait for your answers ;)
DZI
PS: My other tests were:
-complete the installation of XP on another computer, then move the reader
-Installation of XP on another computer until it resets first (after you complete composing the installation files), then move the reader
both without success. I also changed the drive to another as I suspected it is physically damaged. Now I'm ideas ;)> OK, it works, but while the files are copied after awhile it just hangs. I tried with a partition and i386 on the active system partition and with two partitions and i386 on another partition system
To me it sounds more like a HARD or RAM disk as an incorrect Setup procedure failure. What do you think?

All the files are copied in public Documents
Hello
I have weird problem. I use the local account (Administrator) in my office windows 8. Every time I have copy something for Libraries\Documents he goes to the public Documents even he should go to My Documents. I didn't change the settings associated with it (at least not in the object). Earlier, it worked as expected. I guess this can be fixed, but the question is how? Because now I did not find any related to this setting.

Hello
Open libraries by clicking on the left of any folder in Windows Explorer. If 'Documents' is not a listed library, then click library and chooserestore default libraries to fix.your backups should automatically go to your real 'My Documents'. The "public documents" are what other people on your network would see if they were trying to access the files on your computer (your my stuff is private). The documents 'library' trying to be helpful by showing you all files that are located in two folders, grouped into a single list. Therefore, alibrary. You can tell the library for not showing the public folder by opening your library of documents, and then on the blue highlight at the top that saysincludes 2 communities. Here, you will be able to remove the Public folder of the library. But the record will still exist and the other people on your network can store files, by default. -
executable files (.exe files) are opened in Adobe reader.
- My friend, I don't understand how he did it, changed the .exe on its computer files settings. He says, click with the right button on a file .exe, selected option «openwith...» "and chose the adobe reader software. Now all .exe files are being opened on the adobe reader, including the filesystem as guest, paint, calculator, browsers, uninstaller etc. Now, we can not even uninstall the adobe reader software, since even the unistaller is an exe file and will open in adobe reader. System Restore does not work. What can I do to help him?
Hi Christophe,
If you can access the internet somehow, if you are using Vista, go to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and scroll to the EXE and click or double-click it to run the program to restore EXE file associations. Once done, do the same for LNK entry. That should restore your programs. If you are using Windows 7, go to http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html . If you are using XP, go to http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm.
If no internet access, copy the appropriate reg entries to a flash drive on another computer, transfer to Office the 'bad' computer to and run them from there to make the changes. Reboot and you should be good to go.
If it still does not help, try the following guide to our Member Brian M - which shows four methods that can be used to fix the Windows file associations.
Guide: http://www.selectrealsecurity.com/fix-programs
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

How can I avoid several selected files are copied / duplicated in a folder
When I start to select several files, for example in my images, for copy and move to a new folder, Win 7 a copy of the files in the source folder automatically creates before that I got the chance to copy and paste my choice to the new folder. How can I turn that off?
Check your keyboard, the CTRL key is to be released at the beginning and this is what causes the duplication. If the key is not your finger and the keyboard can be a problem.

I have an iPad app that is sold in the iOS App Store. I use File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath to save XML files locally to the user iPad (stuff like high scores of the user during playback in offline mode).
What happens to these files for my users if I download a new update of the app from the App Store? Will be they are deleted because the update is a new installation of the application, or they will be left alone?
hehehe, that was one of my first questions I had when I started to build air for mobile applications. The answer is; your binary will be updated, BUT all of your application files saved dynamically will be still, whenever you save anything from your application, it is stored in a place related to your app ID (com.yourappname.blah.blah) which is removed only when the user removes the application from the device, if it persists even if you submit a new binary to the store and the user updates. Does make sense? I do the same thing on traffic wonder and it worked seamlessly when I did a small update from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1 (compatibility ipad3) version, so no worries, unless your new binary reads the old data in a different way

Dear
I use Vista Ultimate.
Where are offline files stored (to be synchronized)? Can we change the default location?
concerning
MaurinHi Maxim P,.
Sync Center is the place to go to synchronize your computer with network folders, mobile devices and compatible programs. Sync Center can keep automatically your files and folders synchronized in different places.
Open Sync Center by clicking the Start button, tap all programs, accessories, and then clicking on of Sync Center.
Sync Center is a feature of Windows that allows you to keep information synchronized between your computer and files stored in folders on network servers. They are called offline files because you can access them even when your computer or the server is not connected to the network.
You can see the link below for more information about changing the location of the CSC files.

Registry access denied when I right click on a file to copy
original title: registry access denied
I reinstalled Vista family premium, a few weeks ago and now whenever I try to open certain programs is to say (iTunes, Autocad, MS Office) I get a
Message: registry access denied.
I also get access to the registry refused whenever I did a right click on a file to copy.
The account I'm logged as definitely is an administrator account. I changed the owner of the C: and all files on my admin account. When vista was reinstalled the installation program was initially assigned the owner as trusted Installer.
I also tried to set up another admin account and I get the same error under this account.
Is could someone please tell me what I need to change to get the stop to receive this error message. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for the reply Rami
I had already made A step.
All my documents, etc. had my account admin as the owner of the file, but when I went in the C: and through the steps of A which was where the Trusted Installer has been listed as the owner. I had changed it, but he did not set the message boxes to come whenever I loaded a program or trying to copy a file (the program would be the load and copies the files if I clicked ok in the Message box).
I couldn't do step C since there is no restore point to go as I wiped the drive and reinstalled Vista.
Step B - I ran and he has a message to check the log file in c: Windows/logs/cbs, that I didn't have access to read the same file with admin access.
To fix it, I finally just reinstalled vista again and this time I do not get the Message box registry errors when opening programs. The c: once more the installer of trust as owner, but the rest of the files are under my account. I don't ' know
What is different, but it works again without these errors of annoying message box.
