Does anyone has installed ESX 3.5 on a USB Flash drive?

Hello

I read some comments on how to get ESXi on a USB Flash drive, but I wonder if the same thing is possible with ESX 3.5?  The reason why I ask is that many of our ESX servers are wired directly into our DS/4700 IBM SAN for their data warehouses and we currently have local disks for the operating system itself.  Cost-mindedly, it would be wonderful if we can just install ESX operating system on a flash drive $15 (which would never be deleted you mind) as opposed to hard drives IBM overpriced or the boot-from-SAN.  The thought of having an identical set also to go with our identical to our disaster recovery site hardware is also very attractive. If someone could provide an answer on this, I would be very grateful.  Thank you!

-John

If you ask if it is possible, yes it's possible.  Incorporated just means it is preinstalled on removable media (usually a flash drive, but it's the same thing).

With regard to the instructions, google it.  There are a LOT of messages.

  • Does anyone has installed Aperture 2 in El Capitan?

My new iMac 27 "end 2015 came with 10.11.1. I tried to install Aperture 2 (yes I know it's old and redundant, but that's what I have and I need to fix some stuff before moving to a new platform) and it failed - with a message found no software to install.

I've updated to 10.11.3 and it's the same thing. Then, I tried to do a custom install and unchecked the peaks of the sample. Then I got a message saying that the software was not compatible and install it could damage the system operating - but with a button that would allow me to go ahead and install it anyway. Call me a coward, but I did this.

Does anyone has installed Aperture 2 with 10.11.3? How at - it go?

    Thank you!

Do you have open on your MacBook Pro, if so what version it is, and is it registered with your apple ID in the App Store.

Trying to transfer to your iMac, drag and drop it into the Applications folder.

Now, open the App Store (make sure that you are connected), see if you get a notification for an Aperture update, (only 3.6.1 works on El Cap)

If you do not get a notification, then you will be able to update Aperture 3.6.1.

What you need to do is move do not delete opening that you copied to the trash.

Restart the App Store and see if you are able to download this new version of Aperture.

If you want more tips on using Aperture, you should ask a question on the opening forum.

  • Does anyone has installed Windows 7 on a laptop Pavilion DV2175

If anyone has installed Windows 7 on a laptop Pavilion DV2175 and if so it is 32 or 64 bit

    Hello:

There is an unofficial update guide to windows 7 for the series dv2000.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/Windows-7-upgrade-guide-for-DV2000-models/m-p/186936#M28141

Given that the maximum amount of memory, that you can install on your laptop is only 2 GB, I'd go with W7 32 bit, as a 64 bit OS requires more memory and disk space to run a 32 bit OS only.

    Not double, but more.

  • Can anyone recommend a good for a MacBook Pro USB flash drive?

I have just implemented a new of the retina end 2015 13 "MacBook Pro and you are looking for a 128 GB + good for fast backups flash drive while looking around a hard drive for use with Time Machine or SuperDuper.

I'm particularly interested in: (1) A flash drive that is pre-formatted for a platform of Mac OS X for recent models. (Couldn't find it from what I saw on Amazon.)  (2) I believe that the current MacBook Pro USB 3.0, but yet there seems to be a lot of disc memory flash USB 2.0 autour.  Anyone found a good 3.0 flash drive Mac compatible in size 128 - or 200 GB? (3) If you happen to have one, it would be swell to find a drive lean enough to fit comfortably in a port USB of the MacBook, even if something is next to him.

    Thanks - much appreciated suggestions!

You can format external hard drive for Mac OS X with disk utility.

  • Does anyone has installed SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows SBS 2011 Standard?

I know that SBS Premium Add on SQL Server 2008 R2 and install this will work.  However, if I have a copy of SQL 2008 R2 on the spot, I would like to know if there are any problems with the installation of this application because of Windows SBS already has SQL Server (Management Console) already installed.  Of previous experience has anyone attempted to install a stand-alone SQL Server 2008 R2 on top.  I would like to know possible problems before running this task.  Thank you.

  • Does anyone has installed Windows 7 on a Satellite L40?

    Anyone done this yet?
    Driver problems?

    Hello

I m not Satellite L40 owner and I install Win7 didn't on my laptop but I read here in the forum many threads on Win 7 and especially of all the users succeeded installing Win7 on own laptops.
You can use the Win Vista drivers most vista drivers are compatible with Win7 and I think that he should t be a problem.

But you should consider that Windows 7 is a beta release and there are still a lot of bugs and open security risks.
So I would use this operating system only for some tests, but not like a normal BONE.

  • Does anyone has upgraded Z70 - 80 to 10 Windows x 64?

Hello everyone! I contacted Lenovo Support directly, asking if the Z70-80 is certified to run Windows 10. For now, I have received no response.

I backed up my system, created a recovery media and downloaded drivers updated since the support pages, but I have not yet passed through the update. I do volunteer work in the Highlands of the Peru, support me as a freelance writer, which makes my laptop my only link with the outside world. I can't afford to brick my machine on a major update in option.

Does anyone has improved their Z70-80 to 10 WIndows x 64? If so, what are your results? Did you run into problems? I'm not particularly worried about my current data, settings or programs, as long as the machine works and I can put everything on it.

For now, I stick with WIndows x 64, the stock of OS 8.1. I guess, when I'll be back in the States, in year or so, I'll have a new machine anyway. Really, there is no rush to upgrade, in any case. Thanks for your comments.

I improved 10 days ago using this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

  • Why does movement of files on a USB flash drive last so long?

I don't know if this is a Windows problem, but when I move a lot of files/folders (no copy, but select, then drag, or cut and paste) a place on the USB to another place on the flash drive, it takes much longer than the same hard disk.

What is a Windows problem or a problem of flash player?

If Windows is somehow move the files into pieces on the hard drive, then moving them back to the flash drive, I could see that as being the reason, but this seems very inefficient. If Windows says just the flash drive to move files and it does itself, I wonder if it is an inefficiency in the flash drive (or formatting) or just the nature of how flash drives move some files.

I don't know that you have understood my problem. I moved the files to the flash drive from one folder to another on the flash drive. When I move tons of files in a folder on the Windows Installer by car, no matter where the records are or the number of files/folders are moved, it usually happens instantly and occasionally perhaps takes a fraction of a second or two; I know it's simply by changing the index (do not physically move the files). With a USB flash drive, it takes seconds to minutes, depending on how much is moved, which is usually much less to install on the windows drive. It's because flash player must physically move the files on the disk, there is no index to put it as on a fixed drive.  In addition the only way to move is to copy in memory, and then write it to the new location.  This means that each overflow bit must go through the USB connection (which is thousands of times slower than SATA cable on the real hard disk), and since then he has to go twice (in and out), it is even half as slow as new.

There is no transfer between the hard drive and the flash player I know.

What this means for me, it is the index or take more time to rewrite, or files are actually moved. What I'm asking is if Windows is somehow data transfer (even if it's the index) drive flash disk, then moving them backwards, slowing things down. I think that even moving them by RAM would slow it down, but I'm not sure.  Also considers that the internal drive is cached. So even if a bit should be moved, Windows will just notice "Yes move this bit later."  The progress box says it completed instantly, but really uses lazy writeback just finish the job later.  That is why if you lose power to your computer, it corrupts the files got reported as fact, but were not actually written on the disc.  Flash drives do not use the lazy "write behind caching" because they never know when the user will disconnect unexpectedly, so that they take the slow lane and check writing all ended before they say the progress bar to advanced.

You can change this second element by setting your USB device to "best performance" in the device, as Manager below.  But I do not recommend because it cannot handle unplug you the reader more.

  • p6710f, crashes at startup when installing 2 Cruzer of Sandisk USB flash drives

    Hello

Question: My HP p6710f desktop computer crashes at startup when 2 Sandisk Cruzer USB drive (8 GB/FAT32, a 16 GB/FAT32) is installed in a hub Targus USB2 multiport (connected to the back USB port of p6710f).

With USB flash drives installed, from a market boot: Boot past the BIOS (blue) screens, then 'underline' cursor blinks just on the black screen and hangs.  It does not start a Win7 from the hard drive.

With USB flash drives installed, from a bunch of market: If in the (blue) BIOS screen, I hit the ESC and select the hard disk device (which is the top of the "boot device") then boot proceeds normally and boots Win7 from the hard drive.

If I do the trunk with the key removed USB, the boot process proceeds normally and starts Win7 disk.

I have flashed to the latest ROM system from the support page of p6710f.  Who really seemed to solve the problem for a while, but the hook finally reappeared.

I copied all the data on USB flash drives, formatted their 'rapid' and copied all the data back.  No joy.

Here is a link to the Sandisk Cruzers.  I deleted all the files on U3/etc. out of them, I want all of the space available on them for auxiliary data storage, I can't boot from them:

It not me any more because I can't access my USB drivers

    Hello:

Looking at your other posts it seems that you have yourself painted in a corner.

Since there is no inheritance or the setting USB auto in the BIOS, your only option would be to remove the hard drive, then put it in a USB drive enclosure sata hard laptop, plug in another PC so it can be read, download the drivers there, you need and copy to you user profile on the hard drive removed.

Chapter 5 maintenance manual provides the procedures of withdrawal and replacement for the hard drive.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03733656

Reinstall the hard drive, run the drivers, and you should be good to go.

These would be the drivers you need for your model...

  • x 61 does not start from usb flash drive

I don't know that I did several times before, but for some reason any my x 61 does not allow me to boot to a usb flash drive, I use normally to install the operating system.

Any suggestions what might be wrong and what I could do about it?

I should mention that USB is enabled in the BIOS and usb flash drive install works on other computers.

Update seems to be an incompatibility with wintoflash, I used the Microsoft DVD/USB tool and it starts the flash player and finished the installation. Strangely the wintoflash installation worked fine in a HP dv3000.

    Consider this resolved.

Wow I never saw your post until that earlier.

  • How to install Windows XP using USB Flash Drive in Windows 7?

    Hello

The Microsoft Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool is designed for the installation of Windows 7, is not for the installation of XP.

I suggest that you use Google that Microsoft does not support what you want to do.
