Does HP Elitebook 8440p support WWAN

My HP Elitebook 8440p has a SIM slot, but wanted to know if my phone is supported. How do it know?

Hello

8440p WWAN support however not all devices are supplied with the WWAN module. If you want to check, you can check hp.com for number of specific product specifications.

Or

You can launch the HP Connection Manager (if you have win7) and will give you the option of WWAN if the module is present in your PC. This will only show you the WWAN if the module drivers are installed in the PC (just check the Device Manager and see if there's something that doesn't have drivers or driver error).

I hope this can help, good luck!

  • EliteBook 8440p: supports the elitebook 8440p

OK so we (my father and me & anyone else) are repairing an Elitebook 8440p for my father and I wonder even if the elitebook 8440p does not support windows 10 - it does support windows 8/8.1?

I ask only because my father gave me 2 licenses and I was wondering if the elitebook 8440p support windows 8/8.1 cause then I can give 1 license while my lenovo has another

-cause the way that I see - if it does not support windows 10 then at least it would support windows 8 or 8.1 lowest

so the question - it's officially support or is there a list of the devices supported for windows 8/8.1?

    Hello:

All I can tell you is that there is no official support from the W10 by HP drivers for the 8440p.

I have the model that preceded the 8440p (the 6930p) and it works fine W10.

Mine doesn't have a webcam, and I do not like the fingerprint reader security features, so I can't report on these devices.

All the drivers are installed but in Device Manager, and I used the drivers for W7 for everything what has not installed W10, such as the card reader and HP 3D driveguard.

  • HP Elitebook 8440p: OpenGL 3.3 for Elitebook 8440p support

    Hello

How can I update my drivers on an Elitebook 8440p support OpenGL 3.3

    Best regards

    Harutunian

OpenGL requires a graphic chipset to dedicate as AMD or Nvidia to run it is why your getting this problem. Intel HD will not run requireing Open GL games.

  • EliteBook 8440p; DM1-3020us: 2x4gb 1600 MHz DDR3L works in Pavilion DM1 but not Elitebook 8440p? But both are supported than 1066 MHz RAM

I have two Elitebook 8440p PCs that both run an Intel i5 520 m (although one of them has a discreet Nvidia NVS 3100 m, while the other does not and use the integrated graphics card Intel).

I also have a Pavilion DM1-3020us with an AMD E-350 APU; It's the only other PC I own which takes SO-DIMM DDR3 modules.

I just bought this Crucial DDR3L 1600 MHz 2x4gb hoping to use it with the 8440p without the graphics from Nvidia:

    http://www.BestBuy.com/site/crucial-2-Pack-4GB-1-6GHz-PC3-12800-DDR3L-so-DIMM-Unbuffered-non-ECC-lap...

However, it causes crashes and BSOD as soon as he tried to start under Win7 64 bit on both 8440 p PCs.  Also when trying to boot Linux Mint 18 I empty a kernel panic, and run Memtest86 + just leads to restarting the PC within seconds.  Yet, I can navigate through the BIOS throughout the day and it will continue to work very well...

But here's where it gets really weird - the RAM works perfectly fine in my laptop DM1 Memtest86 + and Win7 64 bit (I use it as I type this).  What's curious?  Because both the AMD E-350 and the Intel i5 520 m only support up to 1066 MHz RAM!

The only thing I can think is that there is something wacky where RAM is unable to operate at 1066 MHz at 1.5V or is not able to run at 1.5V to all E-350 1.35v support (and 1.5V RAM so that the i5 520 m only supports 1.5V) which itself would be really strange that Micron (which actually manufactured the RAM) States on their website that their 1.35v and 1.5V RAM have actually the same die (a bit like mobile i7s quad vs quad I5S Office) and that both can operate at 1, 5V, implying therefore that the 1.35v product is simply a higher binning:

    https://www.micron.com/~/Media/documents/products/technical-note/DRAM/tn4114_ddr3_1_35v_1_5v_compat...

Crucial live chat support, however, closed several hours for the day, so I thought I would at least make this post in the meantime.

    Hello:

Please see this thread, and the discussion that I posted in this thread... and you'll have your answer.

6550 b has the same chipset as the 8440p.  I posted the link to the site from NewEgg for the memory, you need to buy if you live in the USA/Canada in the discussion that I've referenced to the other person who had the 8440p.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware-and-upgrade-questions/RAM-memory-modules-that-actually-work-for-HP-EliteBook-8440p/m-p/5570634#M335108

There are several discussions on this issue if you want to find even more.  Everything is solved by specific G.Skill memory I posted.

The extent of why it works in the dm1 and not the 8440p, the chipsets are different.  The Intel chipset in the 8440p doesn't support voltage DDR3L.  Comparison of AMD and Intel chipsets are like comparing apples and oranges.

I also believe that the chipset amd in the dm1 is more recent than the chipset in the 8440p and promotes low-voltage memory.

I have just return from memory and use the gift card on something else.

I doubt that Best Buy has this specific memory.

    Hi @danielqk ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your 8440p and problems with start-up Elitebook. You get the error message is a hard drive error. Means that the hard drive has failed.

If the computer is out of warranty, most computer stores can help you select a replacement hard drive.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • Maximum supported size of HARD drive for HP Elitebook 8440p Windows 7 Pro 64 bit runing

Hello, I just bought a HP Elitebook 8440p "off lease" of Tigerdirect and seeks to upgrade the two memory (from 4 GB to 8 GB) and put in the eligible of the biggest HARD drive I can. Either a 512 GB SSD or a 1 TB WD hybrid WD BLACK2 (1 TB HDD / 120 GB SSD Combo drive in a single package!). I would like to see more large disk addressable by using Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit OS since I don't seem able to find this info on the web. HP offers only only a 256 GB SSD in its specifications. but I didn't know if it was do limitations of BIOS or availability at the time of production, even for the HARD drive to 512 GB.

Also, I would like to know if 9.5 mm compliant Bay that it needs to be for the WD drive. Can't find that either, and while the new laptop has not yet happen, all measure exactly the same way regarding what works and what simply cannot be "cheated".

Thank you for taking the time to read this and NO information to that effect would be Greatl appreciated!

Essentially the reason why you do not have a maximum size of hard drive is because there is not everything. Between SATA and 64-bit OS', worrying about maximum size of hard drive is a thing of the past. Are the biggest readers found in the manual, as you suspected him, just a function of the market at the time of manufacture. It was a few years ago now, it is so understandable that the offerings were "at the time" more thin than now.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

Page 4-9 shows the procedure of the Bay and the replacement of the hard disk. The Bay is made for a 9.5 mm thickness 2.5-inch wide SATA hard but the new 7 mm readers also works. The black hybrid drive requires some software (included in the package) to treat the two drives in Windows and I read a modest amount of disappointment in the documentation about them. If you can afford the 512 GB SSD go in this direction and you will not be sorry. I use a Samsung 840 Evo and it has worked perfectly for me for almost 2 years and the most recent 850 I hear is even better.

  • HP Elitebook 8440p: lack of "Audio device high definition '-win 10 (or 7/8/8.1?)

    Hello

My laptop computer in question is a HP Elitebook 8440p

Just upgraded to Windows Pro 10 x 64, and I managed to find the drivers for all of them, except a device.

    Under >

    > Sound, video and game controllers

    -"High Definition Audio Device".

It has a hardware ID of:

    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_8086 & DEV_2804 & SUBSYS_80860101 & REV_1000

    I already tried to install:

    -IDT Audio Drivers

    -LSI High-Definition Audio (HDA) Modem

    -Intel Chipset Installation utility

None of the foregoing has managed to get rid of the yellow exclamation power off the device under the Device Manager view.

I had a few other devices where win 10 has not installed by default, and for drivers Win 7 seems to work very well, so I guess that the same is true with the one above - I just need to know what to install...

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hello:

You must manually install the audio driver Intel HDMI driver W7 Intel HD graphics support page for your laptop.

Here is how to do this without messing up your graphics driver...

First download and install this free utility for files... 1 file on the list is 64-bit.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

Then, download and save the graphic driver Intel support page for your laptop.  Do not run it.

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=4095873 & swItemId = ob_127914_1 & swEnvOid = 4059 #tab1

After downloading the above driver file, right-click on it and select 7 - zip from the list.

Have 7-zip extract of: and leave it to decompress the file in the file name (sp64360).

Once this is done, go to the Device Manager and click on the audio device HD requiring the driver.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.

Select her browse my computer for driver software option and find the driver 7-zip created folder.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install.

    Then restart.

  • memory of HP elitebook 8440p upgrade question

    Hi all

I have a quick question today, in fact I have a Hp Elitebook 8440p with core i5 and 2 GB of ram (samsung 2rx8 pc3-10600).

    and I am running windows 7 x 64 bit.

so I decided to upgrade memory up to 8 GB and I install 2 x 4 GB (matched pair) (hynix 1rx8 pc3-10600). but it does not work. won't start and loop. and if I put original samsung 2GB new then its job well...

I tried several times with all possible combinations, but it does not work. and if I go to the bios Setup, it shows 8 GB memory installed in it but can't get thorugh inside.

I wonder what the problem of 2rx8 and 1rx8? because my old 2rx8 obtained original and new obtained 1rx8 on that...

I'm really worried about it... Please help me soon... Thanks in advance

I can't say 100% for sure, but yes, I think that the number of chips of memory to the Board of Directors may indicate density.

The symptoms you describe indicate a problem of density to a "t".

Memory shows in the BIOS, but the PC refuses to work with her.

I suggested this to several others and cause when they bought the memory of lower density with 16 chips to the Board of Directors, their problem has been resolved.

  • EliteBook 8440p: elitebook 8440p upgrade of windows 10 mess with boot

    Hello!

I bought a refurbished elitebook 8440p with pre-installed windows 7, 8 GB of RAM, 2.40 GHz processor.  I continued to refuse the upgrade of windows 10 when he constantly jumped upward and then one day I turned on the computer and it updated in any cases without permission.

Since the upgrade, if I shut down my computer, or try to put in standby or Hibernate mode, when I go to wake up or put on, I always get a white screen. In general, I have to turn power several times on and off until any startup screen. Then half of the time, when I get a splash screen, my cursor is stuck at the top of the page, moving only left or right whenever I try to move it. So I have to turn and turn until a new screen is displayed.

I studied how to remove 10 windows and reinstall windows 7. I passed the period of 10 days or 30 days. Media creation tool asks for the product key which I type in the sticker on the bottom of the laptop, but do not pass the verification process saying to contact the manufacturer for help.  Apparently there may be specific drivers or something you took when it improved and the media tool does not allow me to create anything for me to do a clean reinstall of windows 7.

I tried to find an option after pressing esc at the f11 reset start screen. There was no option to do so. The best I could do was to 'reset' of the computer, but he took back to the original Windows that it is firstly set at level 10 to. All my files are deleted from the computer. I just want to return to Windows 7, but could not find an effective way to do it.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hello

Last week, I checked the updates to the bios for elitebook 8440p of the of my father and I saw 2 different entrances, f.13 (2011) & f.50 (2014). Subsequently I have updated BIOS F.12 F.13 to without any problems.

I hesitated to update with F.50 because when I checked the F50 revision history, I saw that this goes back to F.21, nothing is mentioned about F.1* series.

So, is it safe to update with F.50 or is it for some other versions of 8440p (if there is)?

    Thank you.

  • HP Elitebook 8440p WWindows7

Hi I have a question, got this laptop (HP Elitebook 8440p) last month it came with 320 GB HD, 3 GB of RAM and Windows 7 Pro 32 bit installed (I also drive original windows 7 32 bit Pro that comes with it). Now, I intend to upgrade the RAM 8 GB, replace with a 128 GB Samsung SSD HD and install Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

My question is can I use the product key on the underside of the laptop for the installation of 64-bit?

I phoned and asked HP, but I was told that it is not possible that the below key is useless without the original hp windows disc 7 with that he came.

    Hello:

    This is not true.

But why not order a set of recovery disc from HP for $10? Then you don't need the product key.

Tell them you want the floppy drive of W7 Pro 64 bit recovery game. That's what I did with my HP 6930p.

Mine came with 32 bit also and I wanted maximum memory of 8 GB, but only had a 32-bit recovery DVDs.

    Call HP at 1-800-334-5144.

Only, you must also provide the serial number of your PC.

If you don't want to spend $10, then everything just this...

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.
