Does not recognize DVD in Movie maker

I don't know how I have to save to computer or how to edit a video of 3.5 hours from me painting. I would also like to change it in advance but don't want to mess the place dvd on. I'm new on this and made a few other videos with photos, etc. on movie maker. I need a software or the plug should ins converters or mpeg... out there, any help would be appreciated.

Will not identify DVD in Movie maker. I recorded paint me a mural using stringing older with Hi 8 tape mini. Then I copied a vhs tape and finished to burn to a dvd + r and now it will play in the drive but I can't open it in movie maker to edit it or reduce it in order to save on computer and then make a short video. Don't know?

Jazdo

Actually Yes, there is a video_TS and a video_RM

=====================================
Sorry... This will be a long answer...

DVD files you need for editing in Movie Maker
are the. VOB files. You can find them in the VIDEO_TS
folder. Copy them to a folder on your hard drive.
(drag/drop...copy/paste)

First... just try to rename one of the. VOB files to
. MPG or. AVI and see if it will matter in Movie Maker.
If import works... drag the file to the timeline and
Economy/publication (file / save movie file) in the .wmv
or to the .avi format. So... re - import new movie .wmv

Clip for editing purposes.

(Also... you may be able to play the renowned files

Windows Media Player... This will give you a chance
to identify the VOB file that contains the content
you want to change)

If this does not work... rename the file back to VOB and try
convert the .wmv file by using one of the following
free converters:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

#1) format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the last screen)

First... after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

That should do it...

(#2) SUPER © Simplified
Universal Player Encoder & Renderer
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Super
(the download mirror site is faster)

(FWIW... it is always a good practice to create one)
System restore point before installing new software)

After installing the program GREAT... open...
you will see two small circles at the top left
corner of the screen... check the UPPER circle.

Now... Drag/Drop your. VOB files in the current field.

Output container... Choose wmv...

Video scale size / no change

Left, click the Encode button.

Choice: A Simple Profile / OK...

Wait...

(FWIW... I have better luck with video if I'm not
try to multi-task while a file is being converted)

When the file is converted, you should find it in...
Program Files / eRightSoft / Super / exit.

Or... you can type... CTRL + O.. o open the Save
Window and choose a backup folder.

Good luck...

  • Satellite M60-155: drive does not recognize DVD

The multidrive on my laptop does not recognize DVD-he just turns and clicks.

It recognizes the CD tho. I've had this problem before, but did not pick up the CD player and it plays DVDs.
I managed to solve this last time, but I do not remember how.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Don't you remember how you solved the problem? ?:|
    Hmm, very strange.
However, I think that it s a problem of calibration of lens of the drive.
The lens can not be calibrated properly and that's why the drive cannot read the media.

Have you tried to remove the drive from the laptop? If this is not the case, try to remove it. Then start without the drive. Then shut off the unit. Reinstall the drive and start the laptop. The firmware should take over again and maybe the lens is calibrated in the right position.

You can also try to clean the lens gently. But if the whole points will not help you may need to replace the drive

I have a Studio 2008 1537 with an 8 x Slot Load CD/DVD burner (dual layer DVD + /-in car and it was replaced under warranty about 2 years ago, but now Roxio does not recognize as a reader.)  I want to make copies of some videos, but I can't do it.  I think I need to update the driver, but I do not know what actual brand or DVD burner model number I.  How will I know?

Roxio will be available for download on my Dell downloads. So go ahead and register, then download the installer and save it.

You might want to try the upper and lower filter thing (link below). This can solve the problem of Roxio, but not iTunes issue.

  • Satellite A200 27z does not recognize DVD drive

    Hello

Ive got the computer laptop toshiba Satellite A200 27z & a while a go it wouldn't turn on at all, I took it to a computer repair shop & they seemed to solve the problem, except that they delete all the "stuff" that comes with the laptop.

On the most part, he always does things I want to do. But recently I went to play a dvd in there & it won't work, even if it does not play DVD if theyre sent to me by msn etc.

Normally, when I put a dvd, toshiba dvd player would automatically right away, but now he used. When I go to manually open the dvd player toshiba a message just ups saying:

    * the specific drive is not found. Check the settings by going to settings > stock settings > source. or otherwise check that the disc has been correctly connected to the levels

Ive been in the "action settings", but the source area is blocked (do not type anything in it). I don't know much about computers and so do not know how to check if the drive is properly connected.

It will not also recognize when I put a cd that he either, as normally if I put a cd in and then itunes would automatically load upward, now itunes will not appear if a cd is in the laptop & I can't find it anywhere.

can help someone, I have no idea about these things!

I had this problem a few months ago, I thought that I should send it to be repaired but Windows Mr Fixit made and my dvd player is running again

    Hello

You happen it ONLY helps some DVD or do you have problems with the other DVD too?

In many cases, it is possible of s that the CD/DVD drive does not have the means of inserted at the compatibility issue. In such cases, it s a good idea to update the firmware of the drive of s (if the firmware is available for the CD/DVD drive).

You must also change the registry; Start the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

In addition, go to the Device Manager and remove the drive from the list of devices CD/DVD.
Then restart the unit, the Windows operating system should recognize the gain in car.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.
