• Modeless window by using the "palette" does not remain upward in CS5

  I have a problem running a modeless dialog box with CS5 (on 64-bit Windows).  My own script does not stay in place and either don't extract of SnpCreateDialog.jsx that comes with the ESTK and is supposed to demonstrate modeless dialog boxes.  I tried:

  1. From the Scripts panel
  2. Add #target photoshop
  3. Be sure that the drop down menu says Photoshop, no CTSK

  as suggested in an older discussion at http://forums.Adobe.com/message/3008230#3008230 .  (I decided to make a new discussion as this one was marked answered.)

  It also does not stay in place when moved to the folder of Photoshop Scripts and run on the file menu in Photoshop.

  The corresponding code in SnpCreateDialog.jsx is:

  If I put a breakpoint on the "return true;" line, then I see that the dialog box, in fact, was created and is visible, but he came back to win.show () and will disappear as soon as the script continues.

  A dialogue window waiting for show() end. This is what makes the modal dialog boxes. A palette window does not expect show() end. He runs the rest of the script.

  In the example you posted the entire script after the window display is return true, then ends. That is why there is no blink the window. If you put a line of $.sleep (1000) before the real return line, that display the windows until sleep wait times then the script will exit and the window will close. That's why with Photoshop palette windows are really only useful progress bars or other type of script status windows.

  Although windows palette can allow the user to intreact with application UI while the window is displayed and does not work with Photoshop. The window shows only while the script runs and Photoshop UI interaction limited a running script.

  I tested windows palette in CS2, CS3, CS4 and CS5 with the same results. The window shows only while the script is running.

  With Photoshop if you want the user to interact with the user interface you will need to create a Panel.

  I have a 8560 that connect me to HP 230W Advanced Docking Stations to each of my two workplaces. The 8560 p has a SSD drive and I use an identical SSD in the Bay of the docking station, which I use for automatic backups (I spend the SSD between two docking stations when I move locations) eSATA.

  It works very well at the start. After loading the disc, it is recognized by the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology and presented as an "external drive" in the application of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology against the port of relevant (3). I can also see it in Windows Explorer and use it and work of backups when manually initiated.

  However, after a period of inactivity SSD in the docking station is 'removed' by Intel Rapid Storage Technology (pop up says that he has been removed from Port 3). If I go into the application of the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology, it reports the port (Port 3) as 'empty '.

  I have to remove and reinsert the SSDS to get the Intel Rapid Storage Technology and Windows technology to recognize it again. It means always to my backups automatic (they are planned for the night) in case of failure.

  How to stop the disc being dismantled? I need that remains mounted until I have to physically remove or disconnect the laptop.

  I am running Windows 7 and have applied all updates of current Windows (using Microsoft Update) and HP (using HP Support Assistant).

  The SSD is a Crucial M4-CT512M4SSD2 (512 gb) firmware version 0009 (I'm aware that this is a firmware updated version and am upgrading, but don't think it is relevant to my current problem)...

  Problem solved.

  The issue was the Crucial SSD firmware.  V0009 I had apparently has a known problem with the recovery of unexpected power loss.  When the laptop slept or the HD has been disabled by the energy saver, it was not handled properly and the SSD froze.

  The SSD to 0040H firmware update solves the problem.

• T410 does not connect to the docking station

  I have a Lenovo T410 and a docking station 4338. When I tried to join the computer to the docking station last night, he would not go. I don't see any obstruction or something wrong with the plug on each unit; the computer can't accumulate up as before.

  I compared the two docking stations and identified the problem. There are two plastic hooks built into the base, one to the right of the connector, one left and below. In a station works correctly these hooks are discarded because the computer is inserted, then spring back, now in place.

  On my post of malfunction the hooks were stuck, prevent the computer from insertion.

  I was able to fix the problem by pushing hooks with my finger, which take them off. If they stick once again I can try a Lube graphite.

• ThinkPad Yoga S1 does not charge on among Dock

  When to use the Dock among my trendy not says Yoga in charge.

  I have provided 65W power brick attached to the OneLink - powerbrick works very well if plug in Yoga. However when connected via OneLink power getting to the laptop is about 8 - 9W, as indicated below and will not charge the battery.

  Can anyone help or make me a defective Dock among?

• illumination of the keyboard 15 HP omen is not on or flashes once and does not remain

  The keyboard light is not on.  I tried turning on via the control of HP OMEN and when I do it just flashes once and then is off again.  It was going fine until I updated the BIOS now.

  It's an easy fix.  Hold down the "fn" key and press "f5".  This allows to switch the illumination of the keyboard on and outside.

• Satellite P200 Vista Ultimate - Extended desktop does not remain on the left

  I can EXTEND my desktop to a second LCD on my Satellite P200 without problems - UNTIL I place it on the LEFT.

  It will not retain this position (I need to reposition after every restart - this I can live with that).

  But I use a KMV switch intensively, whenever I come back to the Satellite, the extended desktop is back on the right.

  Someone at - it ideas?

  I think it s a display driver problem.
  Try to update the graphics driver to the latest version.
  If you will be late nothing on the European driver Toshiba page try to search on the site of Toshiba Canada and 3 websites of third parties such as www.omegadrivers.net or www.laptopvideo2go.com

  If you will not find the latest drivers try this temporary fix.
  Don t let the Windows Vista TMM to manage your multiple monitors.
  Go to Task Scheduler, in the list of active tasks, find the line task TMM, turn it off - off on logon trigger (or delete - save/export task before you do), and then restart your windows. I hope it will work ;)

  It is in Windows Media Player? If so, I suggest that you try to reset the media library. Note firstly reset the library will make you lose all play counts and ratings too. Then, follow these steps:

  -Restart the PC.
  -Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service . If its status is started , double-click the service, and then click stop .
  -Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft in the search field and press ENTER. This folder opens in Windows Explorer.
  -In this folder, rename the folder Media Player as Old Media Player . If you do not see the folder, then it is probably hidden. Set Explorer to view the hidden files and folders and show protected system files.
  -Launch WMP, your library will have been reset and will be rebuilt. Check if the problem persists.

• Windows Vista - default printer does not have a default

It seems to default to the fax printer. I then have to reset the printer selected as 'default' to be able to print. This not happens whenever I stop - sometimes, the default printer is as default.

  * Turn off the monitor
  * Remove all cables from the computer monitor
  * Turn on the monitor
  * The floating red/green/blue/white dialog box should appear on-screen on a black background and stay on
