Double NIC on the host, double network, how to connect to a specific card?

First of all, I'm not looking for that, and nothing seemed to answer the questions that I have. I just started to work with VMWare workstation. I migrated from VirtualPC2007 with XPMode after that caused a few updated my system to become unusable with the VPC software installed. I have abandonded VPC to VMWare and it works MUCH better. With one exception: for the life of me I can't understand how to tie a VMnet specific to a specific card on the host computer. I'm runing Workstation 8.0.2 build 591240 with a Windows 7 VM. The host is running Windows 7 and has 2 network cards. A home via a cable to a programming for PLC system and the other wireless to the outside world. I get an error to ask a software update and it needs access to the internet for this update. It is very good and I will be happy to death once it happens, BUT I can't understand how to tie the individual network adapters in the virtual machine for individual netwrok adapters on the host computer. The file 'aid' is far from useful, and all discussion threads seem to be WAY over my head at the moment.

VM:

Host:

NIC Capture 1.png

How excactly do not connect adapter network card wireless network on the host so my software update VM 2 will be a direct connection it needs? I don't know how to say what is attached to that, except that nothing communicates with the outside world.

Thanks in advance.

It's in the "Virtual Network Editor". This application can be launched from the windows 'Programs'-> 'VMware' menu or the menu 'Edition' of VMware Workstation.

  • Why the host computer is unable to connect to the smart camera on the network?

My smart camera of NOR-1772 was connected to our network and functioning as a target to a host computer.  The two are running VBAI 2011.  The camera has been moved to another location on the network and another computer is used as the host? The host is connected to the wireless network.  The camera works fine when connected directly to the back of the computer.  Thank you.

Yes, it makes sense.  I noticed a corellation when I am set up and where I lose the connection.

  • The host only network

    Hello

I have 3 networks 'hosting only' configured as follows:

    VMnet1 192.168.102.0 255.255.255.0

    VMnet7 192.168.107.0 255.255.255.0

    VMnet9 192.168.109.0 255.255.255.0

My problem is machines on these networks cannot communicate with each other. After looking through the FAQ, I have all "hosted only" networks were able to communicate with each other. Is there a configuration more what can I do to make this work?

Sorry for asking such a stupid question, I'm pretty new to VM.

    Kind regards

    Thomas

These three networks is isolated from each other. You can place all the VMs that need to communicate in one of the networks of the host only. If you need to communicate through two networks, you can use two network adapters, which are connected to each specific network or use on virtual machine as a gateway to the other.

  • Impossible to create a network/how to connect to openstack-client CLI

    Hello

According to the video 'VMware integrated OpenStack - adding networks - YouTube', it shows how to create a network through CLI openstack-client.

While, I'm new to openstack and don't know how to connect to the CLI client at all.

I could only try to create a network in the GUI. Here is my configuration:

    1.PNG

It looks great, isn't it? However, I get:

    1.PNG

Configure anything wrongly? BTW, can someone tell me how to access the CLI openstack-client as the video.

Here is something you can try.

If you are using DVS based network, you must enter "dvs" in the section "physical network.

If you are using NSXV, then you can leave the Network Physics field empty, otherwise you must ensure that you enter a valid dvs moref id.

For most cases, if you use NSXV, you can simply create network tenent in the project view (then NSXV will take care of it for you).

Anyway, if you want to use cli, here are the steps.

1 > connect to the administration server

    2 > ssh-i /home/viouser/.ssh/id_rsa viouser@controller01

    3 > sudo knew.

    4 > source cloudadmin.rc

Then, you can use the cli freelly.

    Kind regards

    Yixing.

  • I am not able to connect to the main wifi network but can connect to the network of comments.

    Hello

This is something new, I am facing to where I am not able to connect to a main network of airport extreme, but can connect to the network of comments. Guest network works perfectly fine while the main network does not connect to devices in the home. I also found that none of my base stations are visible in the airport utility (I Airpot extreme and Airport Express on the same network). Help, please.

The first step in troubleshooting with this type of problem is to perform a complete network power cycle on your network. If you decide to do...

Power off all the devices on your network... modem, routers, computers, printers, etc... in any order you want.

    Wait a minute

Turn on the modem first and leave a few minutes, he managed by itself

Turn on the next device that is connected to a modem and leaves turn a good minute

Keep turn on devices one by one at a time, one minute apart, until the entire network is back

Recheck the network and report on your results

a computer running Windows XP Connect to Dell 2335dn printer using the http: and is connected properly.  Second computer running Windows 7 by using the same Http info cannot connect to the gateway is 192.168.1.101 printer is 192.168.1.110 than the path of the computer network xp is http://192.168.1.110:631 so my real question is what I have to change the 631 to another number for the computer to windows 7 to connect?

    Hello

    1. you have any security program installed on the Windows 7 machine?

    2. were you able to access the printer prior to this problem?

    3. do you receive any error messages?

4 did you a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

    Method 1:

I suggest you run the printer Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

  • Windows XP cannot connect to DSL Wireless Modem - locked mode "Acquiring Network Address", never connects. Broadcom wireless card

I have a HP ZV5000 laptop, who has recently suffered a hard drive crash. I replaced the drive reinstalled the operating system and it is running Windows XP Home Professional with Service Pack 3 installed.

When you attempt to connect to a wireless network, it finds all those that are generally available, but won't connect.

The properties indicates that the laptop uses "Broadcom 802. "11b / g WLAN. (Broadcom website isn't much help. The site seems to be mostly press releases).

I am told that it worked (I can't confirm this, as the player crashed when I got it).

Any suggestions? If there is any other information necessary to solve this, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to provide.

    Thanks in advance!

    How do you reinstall Windows?

If you use a Microsoft Windows XP installation CD, you must install all of the drivers as well.  If you have reinstalled using any method HP supplies to 'restore factory State' you will have already installed the drivers.

If you can get to the Internet by connecting to the laptop using an Ethernet cable, you can go HERE and click the button "Scan Now" to make sure that you have all the correct drivers.

However, because you can see the available wireless networks, it seems that you have at least a certain driver installed for your wireless network card.

The usual reason that a wireless adapter cannot acquire a network address is the router's security settings are not allowing the connection.

The best way to deal with misconfigured security settings is to remove the 'profile' currently registered and try to connect again.

Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
Right-click on the icon for your wireless adapter and select Properties
Click the Wireless Networks (see screenshot)
If the "Use Windows to configure my wireless network" box is NOT checked, you use a third-party utility to configure the adapter and need to read its User Guide to determine how to remove the 'profile' to connect to your router.
Assuming that the box is checked, find SSID (network name) router in the list of "Preferred networks" and click 'delete '.
    OK your way out
Find your network in the list of available networks, and then click 'connect '. Make sure you enter the password correctly.

If this does not work, the next step would be to connect to the router by an Ethernet cable, temporarily remove all security settings that are configured on the router, remove the "My network places" configuration as above and try to connect again.

If you need help to get to and the configuration of the router, please provide the make, model and hardware version, as appropriate (check the label).

You have 2 exchanges in different subnets, it is assumed that for some reason. Depending on your router and physical switches, you may be able to use virtual LANs to connect/isolate the two. It is also possible to use a virtual machine router that connects and routes between the two subnets. There are several routers of Virtual Machine in VMware devices downloads.

  • The host only network on ESXi 4.1

My apologies if there is appropriate documentation on this point, but I was not able to find it.

I would use a few guests with access to the network only "host-only', but have not found how to set up the images for this.

    Any help is appreciated.

It is actually easy to achieve. Simply create a new vSwitch without attaching of uplinks (vmnic) to him.

  • Adding a virtual (server) computer in 10.142.0.0 go to 172.16.0.0 without additional NIC in the host? NAT?

    Hi guys

I would like to add a (virtual server) in my current configuration - which is 4 host configured

All virtual servers are on the 172.16.0.0 network - what is called network ROH

I got another server in 10.142.0.0 between what is in the VLAN different.

Is there any way I could have this server in 172.16.0.0 network so that I don't have to add additional network card and assign it to the Vswitch.

I'm not a network expertise so is there a way it could be done? Using NAT / any other installation program?

Please advice I will be really grateful.

    Thank you

    Rucky

Before going into the configuration, can you please let me know your model of switch? Is - this switch L2 or L3? According to your requirment, we have L3 switch to talk of separate VLANs.

    Thank you

  • I have to use the Microsoft Broadband Networking Utility to connect via wifi to an access point?

We have a gateway 2wire residential and three computers using here XP or Win7, and I used to have a laptop Vista Home Premium as well.  All of these computers are connected to a shared internet connection using what, in my view, is called zero wireless.  You simply search for networks, enter the ssid, key and good to go.  Until today when I installed a wifi adapter for Dell desktop of my granddaughter has never given the above utility.  His house has a gateway 2wire residential even than mine.  Well, this utility kept popping up and telling me there is no connection and it drives me crazy, because there was a link.  What I have to do is click on START, click on connect to and I can see the front door, and it connects fine.  In fact, I set up my daughter portable Vista, as well as my own Dell laptop and my iPad, and none of them wanted that darn utility.  My granddaughter's computer was purchased in 2007 and was never updated.  Today, I downloaded the SP1 for Vista, but wonder what I have to uninstall this utility (if indeed it is well to do) before you install SP1 and then SP2 go?

I want to clarify that there is no sharing of files between two computers in this household. Granddaughter uses his for school work, projects etc and daughter uses his to work, takes with her to work.  For now, there is not even a printer and it not there to no interest in the media streaming, sharing etc..  Just the old e-mail, tasks of office etc.

Thanks in advance for the help.  My first time here, I usually am the person who gives the answers LOL but it's Vista, and you know how it is.

    Hello ccsgo,

You don't need extra software installed for your wireless connection to work.
If you are worried about it, you can clean boot of your computer to disable the software to start and then if everything still works, you can uninstall it:

I use the NI 9474 with background basket NI 9932 connector with that he came. I have skills EA of a rock, so I apologize for these basic questions:

What is the PIN Vsup, and that means the "sup?"

The 9474 requires an external 5-30 volts continuous. It's what connects to Vsup. The "sup" stands for "supply".
