Downgrade the license key to install Windows XP Pro image

Hello

I bought 4 desktops additional whitebox from my provider. He said they can't get licenses of Windows 7 and I have them for us. We have a Windows SBS domain with about 60 workstations XP Pro. The new jobs all have the same Mo as some previous purchases and we 'pictures' for these machines on our network. I often have to change on a workstation with the other due to software or other issues, so for now, I don't want Windows 7 on a machine that I have to train someone on if I have to spend on their machine.

How I can or I can 'image' machines with XP Pro and use Windows 7 key to activate the operating system?

I don't want to go through the process of installing Windows 7 on all these machines and I then have to do the downgrade to XP on each. And if I have to 'image' of this box of I need now another "image" of Windows 7?

And finally, if I'm having to go through these hoops, do I need a XP Pro license key for the downgrade after inserting the XP Pro CD on the Windows 7 machine?

Thanks for your help.

  • Bypass UEFI provided the product key to install Windows 8?

Just bought an HP computer brand new.

Unlike my old systems, it is running a UEFI (BIOS) firmware and HP integrated the product keys for Windows 8 BASIC in the firmware somehow.   The problem installing my authentic copy retail of Windows 8 Professional.    I want to talk about a new installation DVD, after formatting and partitioning the drive (can't stand all this HP bloatware/test stuff).

The DVD mode of UEFI boot work, but when it gets to the part of the facility where he asks my product key - windows install grab the keys off the coast of the motherboard and told me that they do not match.    I'm never gave the possibility to use the key that came with my copy of windows 8 pro.

How to install Windows 8 Pro, so the installer will allow me to enter my product key?

In the bios, there are options to disable secure boot, enable and disable the keys.   None of them running.   There is even an option in the bios by default to 'keys provided by the user.   but who doesn't either.

    Help!

Found a working solution... just in case someone else runs into an OEM computer that has built-in product keys it UEFI firmware.

The solution was very simple and easy to perform.    First you'll need an original copy of your Professional 8 Windows DVD or an ISO of it.    You will also need an empty key USB 4 GB or more.

By following the steps on this site - perform the format of the USB key:

    http://www.Blogsolute.com/create-Windows-8-USB-bootable-pendrive-UEFI-boot/25988/

Then create a file named PID.txt (as described below).

    http://www.Blogsolute.com/Windows-8-clean-installation-product-key-do-not-match/25990/

After many hours of banging my head against the UEFI firmware, PID.txt solution works very well.   When windows setup find PID.txt, she uses this product code and ignores the one integrated in the firmware of computers.

Don't forget to complete the formatting of the USB for UEFI, its necessary for the needs of secure boot of many new computers.    You can try booting in legacy mode, but it wouldn't work on my computer.

    See you soon.

  • Where can I get the product key to install Windows 8 on HCL laptop?

I have a HCL laptop with windows 7 in there. At the time of purchase they (HCL) gave a set of 2 CD of Windows 8 Pro. It is written "OEM Activation required 3.0" on the disks.

In the game there are no other documents.

So where can I get the product key? If it is not necessary at installation time? How to install Windows 8 across these disks?

If it's a free update which was accompanied by the system prior to the general availability of Windows 8 in 2012, then not as a product key will be automatically after when it is installed on the designated system.

  • How long the license key latest for Windows Vista

The other day a person allegedly from Microsoft phoned to tell me that my activation license has expired and that my computer has been damaged by a virus that kept sending error messages. As my license has expired, they were not able to fix the problem and I had to pay £70.00 to renew and to help more of them, otherwise my PC was getting more slower and slower all day. I hung up. But it got me thinking, it was a spam?

All the Licenses for Windows retail (including upgrades) are transferable to the new machines (in the case of an upgrade it will still a qualifications base on the new machine license) and are actually eternal - at least until there is no material more around which it will run.

OEM licenses are locked to the first machine on which they are turned on - but finally done as the motherboard (and the replacements of vices).

  • Can I use a Windows XP Home Edition OEM key to install Windows Xp Pro?

Reinstalling windows on a laptop computer in the format

I'm reinstalling windows on the laptop of a friend that she sold to a person.  It has formatted and deleted all partitions (which I think included his info hidden windows), but could not find his CD to reinstall windows (she believes that she did not have a when she got the device, and I am inclined to think that the 'cd' was an image on a hidden partition).

I have mine, but the product key on the bottom of the laptop does not work with my cd (he says it's an invalid code).  What I have to use old CDs to install windows or can I use another?  I just noticed that my cd is Windows XP Pro, and its key is Windows XP Home Edition.  Who count?  And if so, is it possible to get a new installation cd?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Or the other

    (1) (preferably) order a set of manufacturer's recovery disc and reinstall the system using htem

    or

    (2) borrow a disc retail Windows of the same edition of a friend (the manufacturer NOT another recovery disc!) and use it for installation - you will then have to track down the appropriate/required drivers and install them. - and use the key from the COA of the sticker on the laptop to turn it on.

  • Reference Dell XT2: Lost the Zoom pinch when installed Windows 8 Pro

I have a Dell Latitude XT2 I bought with Windows 8 Preview.  When I bought it, pinching at the zoom feature worked well.  Because not all the drivers/features were intalled correctly however, I did a clean install of Windows 7 (x 64) and reloaded everything.  I then bought Windows 8 Pro (x 64) and when I went to install, the installer asked me to remove the following as a mandatory step for installation:

    -Dell touchpad driver

-Dell Data Protection Access (forcing in turn, deletion of Security Device Driver Pack & control Vault)

    -Intel 16.5.2.0 network connections

-Duo N-Trig feel tactile multipoint package

After Windows 8 is installed, the pinch in the zoom function no longer works.  I tried rolling back the drivers of the N-Trig, installation of the Suite of Vista x 64 and re-release to upgrade to Windows 8 pilots.  However, I can't retrieve the pinch in the zoom function.

Either way, I am also unable to re - install the package access Data Protection and lost the fingerprint reader.  However, no pinch recovery aid to the zoom would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

  • increase in size of the C drive after installing windows 8 pro, why?

my C drive partition volume is 92 Go, he had a lot of space before moving on to windows 8 from windows 7, after installation, I've seen the size of my c drive has only 5.33 GB free, why has happened?

    Thank you
I did it but the problem did not solve.my of free disk space is 2.24 GB, it's very weak. I have a question, I saw my C drive, I saw a folder named windows.old, what is? its volume is almost 18 GB. can I remove it?
Another problem I have are not wanter to add some more space to drive to another partition, I cut 50 GB of drive D and built a new primary partition but I can't merge the C drive, what should I do to add a disk space? (I used the computer management/disk management and also Acronis disk Director)

Windows.Old stores your old Windows installation. You can use it to recover files or reinstall the previous version of Windows. If all your data has been migrated to Windows 8 safely, you can remove:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/how-remove-Windows-old-folder

This should give you more space.

If you want to gain extra space, you need to use a third party tool like Easeus

Download Easeus at the following link

EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition - http://download.cnet.com/Easeus-Partition-Manager-Home-Edition/3000-2248_4-10863346.html

    ------------------------

Proceed with the installation of Easeus:

Click Next, follow the easy on-screen instructions.

Once the installation is finished, click on finish

Click go to the main screen

Select the drive you want to resize in partition window

Drag the button until you have an amount of disk space you need, then release desired.

Click on apply to apply the changes that you just made.

    Click Yes

    Click Yes

Your computer will restart several times and changes will be made to the layout of the partition, this process is hands-free, so no interaction is required.

  • I want to install the version of the windows license, so can I have a windows license, I have install windows 7 with this key?

I have the windows product key 7 with my computer dell laptop. in recent years my brother using the pirated version. now, I want to install the version of the windows license, so can I have a windows license, I have install windows 7 with this key?

    Original title: windows 7

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

  • Running Windows 7 Pro 32 bit from an OEM installation. Can I reuse the license key I have to install Windows 7 Pro 64 bit?

We have several computers at work that use 32-bit versions of Windows 7 Professional. We must move to 64-bit in order to use more memory. If I have a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit disc can I install the 64 bit version and reuse install the license key for the 32 bit version. I was told Yes as long it's the oem disc. I don't know what that means exactly. What is an OEM drive and why I he would have if the oem of Windows versions usually installed when the computer is initially being built. Thanks for the help guys!

Yes, you can use the same product key to activate the 64-bit version. You may need to reactivate but by telephone.

It doesn't have to be an OEM drive. As long as it matches the edition you are installing.

    To learn more:

    http://techingiteasy.WordPress.com/2012/04/13/how-to-activate-Windows-7-OEM-license-using-a-retail-disc/

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

  • EliteBook 840 G3: Find the license key of Windows 10 for the new computer laptop

My company recently purchased 2 HP Elitebook 840 of the G3 that come with Windows 10 Pro. I did a clean install with a customized image of Windows 10 Pro, but I get an error of activation. Where can I find the license key for our new computers?

Once more, the license IS installed on the PC - that it is embedded in the motherboard UEFI firmware - but as I've said several times now, it is ONLY for the HP OEM of Win10 which was preinstalled version.

OK, so try this utility: http://www.tenforums.com/software-apps/2577-showkey.html

But don't be surprised if it does not work with the version of Win10 that you have installed.

When activating my windows vista ultimate product, I get the response that the license key is already in use, let me know how to solve this problem?

    KiranS Hello,

Judging by your post, it seems that Microsoft had technical problems when you tried to activate your copy of Vista by phone. Have you tried phoning the line Activation again?

The normal procedure is that if the activation fails through the automated system, the call is transferred to a real person. It is the only available option if you get the error 'use existing product key'.

I can only suggest that you try again the activation by phone and see what happens.

  • Upgarading of Windows 7 Home basic to professional indicates the license key is not valid

I bought a windows 7 Home premium to professional anytime upgrade, but he says that the license key is not valid. My laptop has Windows 7 base and I was advised to buy a Home Basic Home Premium anytime upgrade, and then use the home premium to professional. I just wanted to confirm if it will work?

No, it won't work, because Anytime Upgrade is designed only to upgrade Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to professional. There is no Express of Home Basic Professional upgrade.

To make an Express upgrade, you will need to purchase either full licensed version or retail for Windows 7 Professional upgrade.
