Download MBAM
When you download MBAM (free version) all real-time protection programs have to be turned off to allow the download and install to be correct. I couldn't find the answer to this question. I noticed in the discussions on the forum that Windows Defender must be disabled, but have not seen others. Also, I don't know if the product is compatible to Vista SP1. I guess it is.

The virus is a popup window that said it was a windows xp security 2011. I tried to end it in task several times Manager, then did a system restore. After I did a system restore all my file associations were all mixed upward and every sense, I try to change the associations, it won't let me. It doesn't let me even open system restore or something like that.
My question is if I install the full version of windows 7 (at the moment I have windows xp) to my computer it also will erase everything on my computer, including virus? Thanks for any help I can get!
something special I have to do that if it is a laptop?
I have a dell xps m140
I expect BugBatter to answer here... but since it's been several hours and it didn't:
before considering a change/upgrade of the operating system, you can check if you can solve the problem by following the directions/procedure listed here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=82696
before you say it cannot be done, take note of doing things exactly as specified... in particular, I would like to highlight the following points of special 3 which are:
(1) If you are unable to download MBAM directly on the infected computer, you should download on another computer and then transfer it (via key) to the infected machine.
(2) given that .exe files does not work on your computer, you will need to Rename the mbam-setup installation file . exe:
mbam-setup. com:
(3) Similarly, after installation of the MMFA, you will need to Rename it to mbam. exe for mbam. com in order to run it.
Keeping these 3 points in mind, go back and follow, step by step, the procedure in the above link.
NOTE: If Bugbatter here meets the time wherever you are reading this, then please follow all what she said which differs from my suggestion.

Cannot remove trojan apparent - continues to add registry entries
I am working on a Dell 2400 that was not (until recently) updated or properly protected with a firewall / virus protection.
I tried the copy of the demo of Norton Antivirus and it had detected I think:
Trojan.fakeavalert and another who was virtumundo trojan.vundo or Trojan (I forgot the name)Recently, I uninstalled NAV installed the following:
ZoneAlarm Internet Security (and all updated)
AdAware 2008 - free version (and it's also up-to-date)The two ZoneAlarm & AdAware run fairly clean except for the cookies, etc. (low priority stuff)
My problem right now is that there is something that is adding entries to the registry (even in safe mode), and it causes many web pages to pop up in IE7 or FireFox.
The entries that I find in the registry are:
\HKLM\software\microsoft\windws\currentversion\run
Rundll32.exe "c:\windows\system32\rulufutu.dll",a"
Rundll32.exe "c:\windows\system32\piyudijo.dll",a"
Rundll32.exe "c:\windows\system32\kitehuvu.dll",a"When I delete these entries (even in safe mode), they are added in a few seconds.

System restore lost, don't visit a support site
I was recently looking at google and you have clicked on a number of Web sites (open in the window of the tab), and then in about 30 seconds my computer beginner and I knew I had a virus. So I'm going to the my system restore and try to restore but all my restore points disappear up until this day.
Well I get pop up windows and when I googled some sites it will charge the support page.
Is there a way to retrieve my restore points? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A few days ago, I tried to connect to Facebook to play games, chat and so on. After filling in the username and password, I get a message telling me it looks like I have malware on my computer and I need to download certain types of anti-malware program to clean my computer. This only happens when using Firefox. How can I get rid of this? I tried to remove and reinstall Firefox. I ran two major anti-malware programs that work on my laptop. If it is a legitimate program from Fb, I would like the option to refuse. I did not have the choice. I can connect to Fb on Google Chrome without problems, and so I have to conclude that this is a problem with Firefox. Any ideas? I tried to contact Fb, but so far there has been no response.
If you get a pop-up message asking to put plugins or Firefox updated or anti-malware analysis then this message probably is a scam and you should never respond to such reporting to avoid being infected by malware.
- Don't update Firefox via "> about" or by downloading and installing Firefox from Mozilla and server never using a popup or a link on a web page.
- Plugins should be updated only through the plugin itself, or by visiting the home page of the plugin.
