Download pirated Windows XP Media Center with the genuine key?
Hi all
First of all, I apologize if the thread, I created is in the wrong place (Technet forums), but I got enough good help from technet on a Windows 7 problem, that I had. I've recently updated to the Genuine Windows XP Media Center to a genuine Windows 7 Professional.
I own a HP pavilion laptop came pre-loaded with XP MC (media center). Now, HP does not record with the laptop, instead, there is a recovery partition which can be transferred to DVD to create additional space on the HARD drive, I did. Unfortunately my DVD player no longer works, and I can not restore my XP to factory settings (new facility) because the HP restore software only reads from the DVD.
This XP has become bloated over time, and I want to do a new installation.
It is, I could download a pirated copy of the media center XP SP3 and use my real serial number and / or additional information to activate it?
Thank you
No, because your key is specific to an HP facility.
Replace your DVD player or buy an external hard drive

install windows with the product key
someone I gifted an old laptop with a lot of things about what I don't want and stuff I want is missing. I would like to know how to re - install windows on the laptop with the product key on the back of my laptop.
or, even better, if someone could find me a way to get a disk to restore to factory without purchasing information, which would be awsome.
I thank you for your time and have a good day.
If the laptop is one of the well known brands, he may well have a restore partition. If you do not have a manual to the user of this computer, then go to the manufacturers website and look for the documentation. At the very least, you should be able to find information about how to restore the laptop from the recovery partition.
If the restore partition has been decimated, the manufacturer may still have available for a nominal cost of installation diskettes.

How can I burn a DVD in Windows Media Center with the closed captioning information included?
I recorded a program in Windows media center. When I read the program, it displays the closed captioning information. If I burn a DVD program closed captioning information do not display during playback. How can I burn the DVD to include captioning?
Hello1. How do you try to burn the DVD? You have saved the DVD on the desktop (hard drive) or you burnt before you save it to a DVD?
2. after are burning the DVDs in which application you trying to play?
I suspect that the captions are already burned in DVD, at this point in time we can cross check if the option is set to display captions.
To enable or disable subtitles for DVD
a. on the Windows Media Center start screen, navigate to tasks, click settings, click DVD and then click subtitle.
b. click the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons to select power off or when cut, and then click Save. For more information, refer to the article below.

I need to find the path where I can download the installation files inorder to reinstall the operating system by formatting the laptop now.
Communicate with the computer mftr. for replacement media. Legally, they must give you a way to reinstall Windows. XP MCE was available as an OEM ("Original Equipment Manufacturer") product and in addition to having a TechNet/MSDN subscription, I know of nowhere hand, you can download it legitimately. Windows 8 re-activation with the same key
I have a Vaio with windows 8 unique language(x64). I thought to format the laptop with the same OS and enter the product key. There will be no problem to accept the product key? I'm doing so that I can speed up my laptop.
This isn't how you reinstall a preinstalled copy of Windows 8.
You must use the built in recovery partition:
Table of contents:
- Dell Factory Image Restore
1.
Dell Factory Image RestoreCaution: Please note that this process will erase your hard drive, including your data, then re-install the previous backup file. This process, once started, cannot be interrupted. If you try to stop the process (for example, by turning off your system), your computer may not start and could cause a loss of data. Dell Backup and Recovery can recover the operating system or the backup of the recovery partition as well. To recover the operating system from the recovery partition, follow these steps:
- Plug the power adapter.
- Point to the right corner of the screen to make charms barappear.
- Click settings.
Click the stop button, press on the
then click restart in the options provided.
The system reboots, login and click on the problems.
Click the Dell backup and restore .
The system restarts and returns to the top, click Next in the screen Dell backup and recovery.
The system would be checked to see if the chip repair option can solve the problem, click Next once this is done.
We will ask to select the backup to use, click the picture factory option or select one of the backups. Click Next.
You will be asked to save your files, if required to do so by selecting the option Yes, save my personal files (Make sure to have a backup external hard drive very practice.) or select No, erase my files.
The system goes ahead and ends at the restoration of the operating system. Click restart when you are prompted.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the system with windows.

But as I said earlier, this feature is not included with all models of G50.Sorry, but I didn't find any info regarding the FM tuner.

Hello, baruchno
There is no built-in support for media backup Center settings. You can leave comments asking this feature at the following link: http://mymfe.microsoft.com/Windows%207/Feedback.aspx?formID=195
For reference, Media Center stores the settings to: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome

Windows XP Media Center 2005 cannot connect to the Internet
Dear all,
I'm having a problem with Windows XP Media Center 2005. The problem is that when I connect the cable from the modem to the laptop, I only send packets without receiving. The IP address I get is also 169.254.207.207, which is not a valid IP address to connect to the internet, and so I guess that something is blocking the laptop to get the IP address. Another thing I noticed is that when I turned off the modem and restart it, I have connectivity maybe 5 seconds and then return to no connectivity.
You guys can tell me what is the problem, and if I have to download something but in addition to the internet so that I can get my laptop to work. That said, I can connect to wireless with no problems.
Thanks for your help and your time
Martyna
Hello
Sorry for the question but what modem did you mean?
A simple analog modem or DSL (broadband) modem that supports support a LAN connection.
If you mean the second then I would check the TCP/IP settings in the properties of LAN card. The settings should be set to automaticYou should also check that you firewall settings.

Hi James,
Welcome to Microsoft Community where you can find all the answers related to Windows.
According to the description, it looks that you are not able to install Windows XP Media Center.
I have a couple of steps that should help you to solve this problem.
Follow these 4 steps to install the KB925766 correctly:
a. if the 886904 update is installed, you must uninstall the 886904 update before you install the Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Otherwise, the installation of .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 will fail.
To determine whether the 886904 update is installed, follow these steps:
i. click on start, run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
II. Click to select the show updates check box.
III. in the list currently installed programs, locate the following item:Fix for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (KB886904)
If you see this option, you must remove the hotfix. To remove the patch, click on the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (KB886904) Hotfix and then click on remove. Then, visit the Windows Update Web sit to download and install the Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.
b. to install this update, you must have Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 installed. Windows Update detects whether these packages are installed. Windows Update automatically installs these packages for you.
(i) follow the link below to download the .net framework 1.1 manually:
