• Home - XP fails to download updates after one or two batches of completed updates

  system information:

  HP mini netbook

  clean install of xp home sp3 (vaid key)

  install the drivers of hp cds (any material works very well)

  replaced with ssdhd hd

  Description:

  After installing windows, I tried to make my updates but it faild. I've searched and searched, try a lot of correction it solutions without success. I installed office 2007, after installation it asks if I want updates of windows to manage updates, I said YES. After that I was able to get about 189 updates of the first round, the second round was 30 or more. Now I'm no longer able to download the update, fails on the download instantly (any update). Im stuck at this point. I get the error code from windows update next: 0 x 80246008

  I have trid to solve this problem:

  1) stop wuauserv

  Remove C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution

  Start wuauserv

  2) tried a number of the fix it solutions with no luck

  3) downloaded .net cleanser and followed these notes to the relocation of .net features

  Notes: I noticed that my bits service gets renamed the tools fix or an update, it seems that now it more it will fail to start if I click Start.

  The @%SystemRoot%\system32\qmgr.dll,-1000 service failed to start due to the following error:

  The only way I know how to fix it is to reinstall sp3. After sp3 install I can not download updates

  Window "Ready to Install" Firefox "Software Update" appeared. The folder "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0" contained the files update.mar, update.status and update.version. Each of the 3 files have been deleted. The next time that Firefox has been started, no update occurred because update files were missing. In the Menu bar, clicking Help showed in the menu drop-down that "apply downloaded update now" was always on the list. By clicking on "Apply downloaded update now" open "Software Update" window "Ready to install update", so that Firefox still considers that the update files exist, but they do not. In the window "Software Update", by clicking on "Restart Firefox" restart of Firefox, but once again it there's no update, and remains "apply downloaded update now" on the Help menu. How can "Apply downloaded update now" be replaced by "Check for Updates" so the update files can be downloaded?

  You can manually reset the software update feature by closing Firefox and remove the file "updates" (which seems you have done) and the two files "active - update.xml" and "updates.xml" - these are in the installation (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) directory or in the profile folder (C:\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\something.default).

  I previously downloaded update and after that restart is gone to check updates more, browser has sent me to a page with a link to Mac update on Microsoft.com said I was using mac os software! Running XP Pro SP3. Also reset by default checked registry update, it has the right url value, deleted history, Cookies ect? Still no luck.

  It seems every other day or so, if I look at my Start button, there is a flag and the note 'download' updates and stop.  Sometimes, I would like to know what are the updates, most of the time I'm not particularly excited about stopping.  When I click, it always says something like "update, do not close or disconnect.  "Download 1 of 21 updates... etc.  It seems that its updates always 21, several times a week.  Can it actually be that many updates?  Why always 21?  Is it always the same 21, but there is indeed an applicator of failure and really not take updated the last time?  I'm on Build 6, SP2, Vista.  Y at - it somewhere that I can go see those updates in a dated list so I can check that they are actually downloading and installing?

• My computer has multiple problems (downloads, updates, drivers, software...) which I think could be connected.

  Everything I download becomes corrupted somehow or is unable to run. I tried to UN - and reinstall the Zune software (because my computer had ceased to recognize my Zune while it is plugged), but when I tried to install it again, I got a "not a win32 application invalid" notification. I tried several times to download updates, but they still run into an error before completing. My mouse cursor freezes or moves around / clicks on its own occasionally. My internet connection is extremely slow and unreliable, despite the fact that the connection has recently been updated and given a more secure password. I tried to run a system restore in the hope that it would be useful, but which failed due to a program that could not be accessed. I disabled Avast! (I also have Malwarebytes can't see how to turn off) and ran the system restore again, but met the same problem. I think it was a virus, but I ran Avast! "s boot time scan run Malwarebytes in safe mode, and the problems continue.

  I'm sure a couple of them at least are pure coincidence, but most of my problems appeared recently (about three weeks) ago and I have been fighting with them since. This is what gives me a thought that they are connected. Does anyone have an idea of what my problem, or how I might solve this problem?

  Here are some other things you can check. Get your updated antivirus program and start safe mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan mode without failure. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

  Hello Adobe community,

  I have the teachers and students of Adobe Creative Suite Edition 6 Production Premium. I bought this about 4 or 5 years; the verification code always works for my new computer, I bought a week ago. It runs on windows 7 and has 3 hard drives (one for windows only, one for programs and the other to the data - I saved my utmost for Adobe in the hard disk of the programs. Some things still save on the hard drive of 'windows' for a reason, but this is not why I am writing this forum).

  I have no menu templates when I still use. I looked at the solution (download the content of the library free to Adobe Encore CS6). When I click on the link to download, I am taken to an internet tab that says "an error has occurred while processing your request. " Reference #172.e8200e6b.1465174266.1f3eb3c4. I tried to watch until this means number of reference on the internet, not much luck there.

  So I looked for another solution: missing library models, models of project in Adobe products. I downloaded the "Adobe Premiere Pro and still solution' (functional content the CS6), run the installer and get a window that says"the product you want to install is not a genuine Adobe software and appears to be counterfeit. Please report a piracy or contact customer support for assistance. He said then that the version of the creative cloud I is missing or damaged, that I need to reinstall it. I have the latest version of creative cloud - it still won't let me download the patch from Adobe.

  The research on why the error report came about it being a fake, some said forums that I need to have the latest version of Adobe Application manager. I have - I always get the wrong error message.

  Another solution on the counterfeit report said that I had to install "Adobe Update Management tool 8.0 by painter". I couldn't find many comments on the program, so I don't know if it's something that I can trust - more, it is not from Adobe.

  Could I be save things on the bad hard drive? When I run the installer for the patterns and libraries still missing, I tell the program to save the file on the hard drive with my programs and save it in the folder for reminder. Some things are always saved on the hard drive for windows, but I thought that this could be a problem after that things had been downloaded, not before.

  Please, any help is appreciated. I recorded a recital of dance yesterday, and I need to make 42 DVD in two weeks. I don't want to mess with moms angry dance (haha).

  To better understand the process of update, I built two versions of my virtual device.  I installed the one 'old' and I'm doing it to check updates.  When I check for updates (with the web interface or the vamicli interface, below), I get the same error:

  Now, I kind of cheated on the repository.  On my VMware Studio camera, I use the web server integrated and created a directory in/opt/vmware/www/ISV to use as a custodian, because I'm just trying to test such things out in my lab.

  Having done this, I can see in the newspapers of apache2 on my VMware Studio device it is manifest, indeed, read (I turned on the access_log):

  The build process had no problem putting a bunch of files in the repository, and it seems that the 'old' device becomes the file downloaded correctly.

  Other things to note: I'm doing this in a laboratory without access to the internet and if no proxy either.  I was wondering if there were files that had to be pulled from the internet open to allow analysis to what appears to be the python .xml, but through some hacks that I don't even want to discuss, I do not see any other access on the web of the device when it tries to check the updates.

  I tried to strace the vamicli-update, but... There are a lot of things out there, and I can't find clearly something wrong.  Missing a lot of things, but the actual analysis (if it is really what is a failure) is far from clear.

  I found where the error message comes (with ropes), it's:

  which is not a surprise.  I can't find the source for this anywhere on the VMware Web site, so I don't know exactly what goes wrong.

  It is difficult for me to believe that he is really a parse error - somehow, I imagine that something in the environment is simply not true and that is causing the parser does not properly or maybe he failed even to the analysis.
