  • I can't install Windows Live Messenger

    Hello

I uninstalled Windows Live Messenger (or MSN Messenger) other programs with the intent to sell this laptop. I have since decided to keep & tried to re - install Windows Live Messenger (or MSN Messenger). After downloading the Setup file of msn.com & it executes the screen Windows Live that rises & displays a list of the components of Windows Live that you can install, it says that the Messenger is already installed. I tried to download an old version, but it said I had a newer version installed & will have to uninstall it first. I've never had this kind of problem & am so without solutions. Can someone help me please?

  • I need help, find how to install Windows Vista on a HP Pavilion 6475z disk.

I need help, find how to install Windows Vista on a HP Pavilion 6475z disk.   I had to replace the hard drive, so he has nothing about it and I added more ram, but I replace the cd player so it is not yet installed on the HP.   So I was wondering if I could put the installation disc in my laptop cd/dvd and connect computers by usb ports and install it this way and if not how can I?

    Thank you

    Hello

    You are welcome

If the CD/DVD drive in the works of PC Gateway, you can (at least temporarily) remove it and install it in the HP, you can run your recovery disc and reinstall Vista.  Once everything is running on the HP, you can always remove the CD/DVD drive and reinstall it in the gateway PC if you wish.

  • Need help for upgrade to / install Windows 7

    Hi all

I have two computers - one with XP home and the other with Vista home premium.

    XP - home:

I have three hard drives on this computer: C, R and Z c. have windows xp installed and R and Z are just data with operating system drives.

I want to install Windows 7 on drive C. However, when I try to install Windows 7, it says "the installation disc is not compatible with your version of Windows. Upgrade you must correct installation disk... To install a new copy of Windows, restart and boot your computer using the installation disc. "

Question: How can I install Windows 7 on my C drive? It doesn't matter to me if I update to Windows 7 or if I format the c drive and install a fresh copy again. Both are acceptable. Any ideas?

    Vista - home premium:

Same question. The only difference is that it is a laptop, so I did not all additional hard drives. I want to be able to do here is to create a partition where I can save all my data (lets call him X), and then install Windows 7 on drive c. In this way, I get Windows and my stuff is always on the laptop.

    Question: same as above.

    More info:

When I try and the boot disk, the computer won't let me start. It just leads to a black screen, then load it Windows XP.

I downloaded Windows 7 from my University website... its Windows 7 Professional Edition (64-bit operating system).

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

    Hi XPto7,

Just a few things for you.  First, did you buy the real disks or download?

If you bought the discs, have you tested them in another machine to make sure that they work properly?  If they are not:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

If you have downloaded, what method of there are you using?  Please see this link:

  • Cannot re - install Windows Live Messenger. Can't the Messenger newspaper.

"A problem has arisen concerning the security of the web certificate. Error 80048820 No. and 80048416; navigation is blocked. ErnieB.

    Hi Ernie,.

Here are a few things that you can watch in which could be causing the problem.

    1. the date on your computer needs to be properly defined - double click the clock verify that the time and date are set.

    2. If your password information is not saved, make sure that you type it in with the proper case (uppercase or lowercase).

    3. change your password @ https://login.passport.com/ChangePW.srf to something smaller (less than 10-12 characters), and then try to connect again.

    4. If you use a firewall (like Norton Internet Security, ZoneAlarm etc.), it is possible that Messenger doesn't have the correct rights to access the Internet. You can try to re / add Messenger to the allowed list of programs in your firewall.

    5. If you disabled your firewall in the past, it may be blocking Messenger - always try to reboot and see if that helps the situation. You can also try to uninstall a firewall installed, to check that it isn't causing a problem (even if it is disabled).

    6. clear your IE cache and cookies - open Internet Explorer > click the Tools menu > Internet Options > click the button Delete files and when it is finished, click Delete Cookies.

    7. check your IE security settings--open Internet Explorer, click on tools, then Internet Options menu, click the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and make sure 'Search' evocation of server certificate is not checked. Also make sure that "use SSL 2.0"and the use SSL 3.0 is checked, then click OK."

    8. Click Start, then run, and enter the following information:

    regsvr32 softpub.dll

Click OK, and then do the same for the following:

    regsvr32 wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 initpki.dll
    Regsvr32 MSXML3.dll

  • How can I stop Windows Live Messenger open at startup?

Windows Live Messenger opens whenever I start my laptop, and it does not to her PIN on the bar of.
Short of uninstalling this program (if that is even possible), how can I stop to open at startup and it detach all the time in the taskbar?  Thanks for your help.

    Hello

I can help you to stop Live Messenger from running at startup but don't know why it won't let you it detach from the task bar. It should leave you with the right button and choose "unpin this program from the taskbar".
On the login screen when messenger starts first, click Help on the right with the (?) and in the menu on the button, put a check mark next to "show the menu bar.
OK - now you can access the menus at the top of the window. Go to tools-> Options.
In the window that appears, click "sign in" on the list on the left and uncheck the box to the top right ("automatically run Windows Live Messenger when I log on Windows ')
Next time you reboot, Live Messenger doesn't have to load at startup.
It may be useful to uninstall and download again to see if there is a updated version that works better.
    Hope this will help
