Downloading the files and I don't get any errors, but its existing site is still there.   I'm no expert here, but I suggest to go through this .htaccess tutorial info just in case you are hesitant to ask your colleague for more precision.

  1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

  2. What is the full error message that you receive during the uninstallation of internet Explorer 8?

  3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

  4. what happens when you try to download anything using internet explorer 8?

  5 do you have other options available on the bar menu of internet explore?

  I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if the problem persists.

  It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

  To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  I have very often (most of the time in fact) a Web site through the host FTP download problems. I made changes are often not uploaded etc. It is a common problem or am I the only one?

  Please provide more details than what is not exactly up-to-date while ftp upload process, there is text, picture etc? is that what happens with a specific page or any page? The changes should get updated once you download the files to the same place, if there is no problem of synchronization with the server.
