  I have a 4 page document with crop (2 pages, 2 spreads) marks that I need to output to a single application, 4 pages in pdf format, cropped to 8.5 x 11. Is there a way to do this in InDesign, or do I just copy and paste each page to a new document?

  You certainly are.

  How to set up a project like this, it is as separate pages face to face to the size of a pad of folded doc, so in your case, it should be four 8.5 x 11 pages with the pages box facing checked. You set up the design in the spreads of readers, just as the reader (folded, the reader sees the cover in one single page, are not part of a spread). The pages are imposed when printed in the margins of the printer.

  What you did is not tragic for a 4-page newsletter, but it's a lot of extra work to keep things straight when you add more pages, if you try to page layout in the margins of the printer, you have this little problem to export separate pages for online viewing. At this point, all you can do is make a new doc and copy / paste the material of each half of the spread in the old doc to the correct page of the nine.

  In the future, unless the printer tells you to do the imposing to him, do not. It complicates life for you two, and chances are good, it will send back files or charge you more to work with them. Most printers expect to get unique pages. If you do feel yourself, or you need to impose for the printer (and this is a sign that you should find a new printer), you can use the utility booklet print in the file menu, or one of the scripts that are available to enforce it.

  Here's my view on your situation.

  If you have the first Elements 11 Mac tryout on your computer and it has been downloaded from Adobe, you don't have the same program from the Mac Store under the name of the Publisher Adobe Premiere elements 11 (Mac only). This Mac Store version of the program is delivered without the organizing elements 11.

  So, I would review the wisdom of plugging a store bought Mac serial number in your essay to Adobe in the circumstances. I'm not on a firm ground here. But if it is I think and want what you have purchased, then consider uninstalling the tryout from Adobe and installing what you bought at the Mac store with the serial number that the Mac Store gives you.

  I would like to ask Steve Grisetti to double check on this point before proceeding with the configuration of the computer.
